Songs Start Over?
generaltso replied to generaltso's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
So is it only songs that start over after cycling the ignition? Is the car smart enough not to apply that behavior to content tagged as audiobooks or podcasts? Music starting over isn't that big of a deal, but losing your place in an audiobook or podcast constantly would be a big problem. -
Does anyone use Uconnect to listen to podcasts from an attached iPhone/iPod? How well does it work?

Lockpick C8 alternative
generaltso replied to Teambedlam's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
By the way, on the bottom of the Ventura site, it says "For Inquiries From The United States Please Contact Coastal Electronics". It looks like Ventura is just a Mexican distributor for the same Lockpick that Coastal Tech sells. I think whoever you talked to at Coastal Tech was just wrong. The lockpick should work on a 2012. -
Lockpick C8 alternative

Are you sure? I asked Coastaltech about compatibility, and they said that it will work with the 2012 8.4. I sure hope they were right, because I already bought it. I'm just waiting for my Journey to arrive at this point. I'll post back after I attempt installation. If it really doesn't work, Coastaltech better take it back. -
A 2012 Dodge Journey R/T with nonexistent cloth interior exists...

I guess you'd have to track down those 10 and see if any of them happen to have all the options you're looking for. -

It certainly sounds that way. I guess the only way to get a 2012 R/T with cloth would be to find one on a lot that happens to have all the options you want. Of course, it doesn't look like that one you found has heated seats with the cloth. There's also no reduction in price for substituting the cloth for leather, which doesn't seem right. -

Yeah, don't like leather but I do like heated seats. That's why I was happy to find that the Journey could be had with heated cloth seats. After adding the heated seats, it would only cost $250 more to add leather, which is actually a fantastic price for 3 rows of leather. -
My dealer let me take one home for a day to see if I liked it enough to order one. I kept it for about 6 hours and put it through its paces. Then I drove it back to the dealer and ordered one.

The R/T trim was late availability, so they probably made the first bunch of them with the parts they had available. I'm beginning to realize that the things that the different trim levels are "supposed" to come with is really more of a guideline. I don't see why they couldn't put cloth in a custom order R/T. Has a VIN been assigned to your car yet? If not, changes should still be able to be made. Don't bother asking your dealer to make changes to your order. Just email voimteam@chrysler.com with your request and your order number. If anyone can make a change to your order, it's them. I tried to have the dealer add the rear seat entertainment group to my order a few days after it was placed, and they said that it was too late. I emailed voimteam@chrysler.com and they got back to me immediately saying that they successfully added it to my order. -
You agreed to purchase a car and signed all the paperwork before even seeing the car? And didn't push the issue when the dealer refused to let you test drive the car you were buying? I assume you won't be making that mistake again.

How did they deceive you? Did they show you a car with the 8.4" screen and then swap it on you at the last minute in hopes you wouldn't notice? No, you saw a car with a 4.3" screen, and you liked the car enough to buy it. If you can dig up your window sticker, I think you'll see that you didn't pay for the 8.4". How long ago did you buy the car? If you had done research and known that the 8.4" screen normally comes with the car, how long would you have waited to get it?

Why the AWD Journey doesn't support E85 is anyone's guess since Chrysler hasn't made any comment about it. If your gas cap isn't yellow, DO NOT put E85 in your car. If anything does get messed up, it will not be covered under warranty.

Yup, the Husky liners have 3 bumps to accommodate the 1 hook or 2 hook models. The Weathertech liners are only compatible with single hook models unless you do some modifications. That's why I went with the Husky liners for the 1st row for now. For the second row, I actually purchased the Husky liners and the Weathertechs. The Weathertech does a much better job of covering the hump around the center console, so I'll be returning the Husky second row liner. Husky doesn't make a 3rd row liner, so I went with the Weathertech for that as well.

I can see why you would be mad if you paid for the 8.4" screen and didn't get it. But I really don't think you did. It sounds like you didn't even know the 8.4" screen existed before buying the car. It would have been great to get the 8.4", but the fact remains that they simply weren't available when you bought the car. What should Chrysler have done differently? They already marked the cars down to account for the screen swap. Should the sales person at the dealer have told you that if you wait a while the 8.4" screen MIGHT be available again? Sure, he should have told you that. But I don't bother getting mad when sales people know less about the cars they sell than I do. That's pretty much the norm. Before spending the kind of money that a new car costs, I do a whole heck of a lot of research. I've read the owner's manual twice, and I don't even have the car yet. You should always know more about the car you're buying then the sales person. If you're relying on them to tell you everything you need to know, you're going to be disappointed. Do you still have your window sticker? Are you absolutely sure there was no credit? Take a look at this window sticker. Do you see the credit? If you really didn't get a credit for the lack of 8.4" screen, you've got a legitimate complaint and should at least get that credit refunded to you. WindowSticker(2).pdf

The 2012 has 2 floor hooks, just like the 2011. Weathertech has been VERY slow to change the hook hole locations on their mats for the 2011 and 2012 Journey. The Mopar pics often aren't updated to show new versions, so that pic is probably just wrong. I ended up getting Husky mats for the front and Weathertech mats for the 2nd and 3rd row. When and if Weathertech ever makes a 2 hook version for the front, I may replace the Huskies.

Actually, you probably didn't pay for it. All of the Journey's that ended up with 4.3" due to the parts shortage should have had a credit on the window sticker. The sale price would have included that credit. In the US, the credit was $1000. Not sure what it would have been in Canada. All of the 2012 Journey's that are on the lot at my dealer still have the 4.3" screen, and all of them have a price reduction of $1000 printed right on the window sticker. I feel for you, but I guess I don't understand how you could not notice that the 8.4" screen was missing before driving the car home. That 8.4" screen is THE reason that I even started looking at a Journey, and was the first thing I noticed missing when seeing the 4.3" screens on the lot.
