  1. Windows 8 Phones will do text to voice reads and voice to text send via Bluetooth. It interrupts whatever is going on with the Uconnect system, silencing radio etc. Then takes over the system, the mic in the car transfers your speech to the phone. If I remember correctly this is how the phone/car system works. 1-Text message received 2-"Message from <person>, would you like to read it or ignore?" 3-Say "Read it" 4-text to speech: "Hey are you coming to the soccer game today?" 5-"You can say reply or I'm done" 6-Say "reply" 7-prompt "Say your text message" 8-Say "no I am going to be busy tonight if you know what I mean" 9-prompt "You can say I'm done, add more, or try again" 10-Say "I'm done" 11-prompt "message sent" Ofcourse you can only use it to reply to received text messages, there is no way to create a brand new message without having been sent a text first.
  2. I agree, I ordered my color blindly. I didn't like the Black leather and definitely did not like the Tan. So I ordered the Pearl based on the internet color swatches. Getting the red stitching along with it was just a huge plus
  3. I guess appearance is all personal preference. BTW my Crew is US ordered has red stitching, see picture above.
  4. i havent used that feature yet. but will update once i get the chance.
  5. I have a Ford Focus 2012 with the myFord Touch.... believe me when I say the uConnect totally destroys it. MFT reindexes/rebuilds my MP3's everytime I start the car MFT forgets song/state it was last in everytime I start the car With the MFT there is 1-2 second lag/delay between presses Not to mention the horror story of 3 months after taking delivery trying to even get the damn system to a workable state. The Journey is my wife's car, I am jealous of her... enough said.
  6. I have a 2012 Crew FWD. This was a purchase to make it our family vehicle. Things that I love about it. - Tons of storage, can't get enough, bins under 2nd row floorboard, under front passenger etc. - 3rd row seating. I am 5'10" 150lbs, and I fit easily in the 3rd row and actually sat comfortably during the test drive... haven't tested again since :D (so putting kids in the back here shouldn't be a problem at all.) - Quick access to 3rd row, pull one lever that folds up the 2nd row and slides easily. Easier access using the 40 split side. - If you can find a used one with 2nd row seat boosters... comes with 2 built in, takes up no more room than the regular seat. Could possible fit car seat/booster in middle of 2nd row as well... so can go inseat booster - external booster/car seat - inseat booster. BTW FWD/AWD is sort of up for debate, it helps when you are stationary and are trying to get go. Or on a hill and have to stop and go. Or if you are plowing through snow and possible risk getting stuck (though this last one, how often do you really drive on unplowed roads?) Other than that, while you are travelling and if you hit ice, FWD/AWD are pretty much the same. I went back and forth for a month trying to decide between FWD/AWD... in the end I chose the FWD... didn't really feel AWD gave much for the added cost / maintenance / weight / more things to break. From what I gathered from the reviews FWD w/ good set of winter tires > AWD w/ All seasons
  7. Glad I got the crew. Stubby antenna on back looks wierd... and what is up with the top rails? Black car missing it, and white car has black rails. I don't like the body colored door handles as well... I like me some chrome, though I have a feeling it can get scratched up pretty quick. BTW question about the red stitching.... is that normal on all the lines? I thought only the R/T had it... my Crew has Pearl leather w/ red stiching as well... When I test drove it at the dealership they had the Tan leather and I don't remember it having red stitching.
  8. Hey question for you before I take my car back in for service. There are a few items that I noticed: 1 - the floor heat/ac rattles. When I set it to blow from the dash vents, no rattle, when I switch it to floor it rattles. It is not too bad it sounds like someone put a small piece of paper against a spinning fan. More noticeable on speed setting 4 and up. 2 - The 2nd row seat seems to lock. For some reason, I can slide back and forth, but once I let the lever go and the seat repositions a little bit, there is a click probably indicating that it locked into position. But I can no longer use the lever to slide 2nd row back and forth. In order to get it to work again, I have to use the quick folding lever to fold the seat, slide it a little back and forth, then the slide lever works again. A pain in the ass. Is there anything I am missing? I tried to look up info on #2 issue and I couldn't figure it out, or the manual didn't mention anything about it locking. Issue #1 I am definitely getting it looked at.
  9. First off, I want to state up front... totally love it so far. First impression is the entertainment system inside this vehicle is so much much better than my Focus 2012 with myFord Touch. Dodge Journey 2012 Crew FWD - Leather - Flex Seats - Trailer Prep - Nav Group - Rear Sear Video Group - 2nd Row Boosters Total $26600.50 with TTL
  10. I received it in the mail from dodge. I had signed up to receive journey brochure a few months back. It was not anything locally advertised. I emailed my dealer if they will take it... Basically it is as good as cash since dodge will give the dealer the 1k back.
  11. Mine supposedly left factory on the 29th of nov, loaded on train 5th of dec, will transfer to truck on 16th. Also dodgr sent me a 1k coupon. My dealer applied it to my order for total of $6k off sticker price. $27k for crew w/ tow, 2nd row child, nav, rear ent, leather, flex seats.
  12. Not yet I just got email today saying that my car has been built. Also said I am getting another VIN as my original car did not pass all quality checks, so another was built. Talked to dealer says they are built in Mexico so can take up to 3 weeks to arrive.
  13. So I can't track my car. It doesn't show up. I sent Cust Service an email with my VIN and their response is contact your dealer... I mean WTF Dodge is the one that controls the VINs and manufacturing process...
  14. They had the RT lined up a long time ago it was in their literature.... Just said late availability. Here is breakdown between all the journey models... http://www.media.chrysler.com/dcxms/assets/specs/2012_DG_Journey_FA.pdf It looks like you are paying a $1k premium to have the R/T badge and minor cosmetic upgrades. Unless ofcourse they start restricting options you can buy on the Crew as well. So all the high tech features are R/T option only.

  16. It costs $1K more than 2012 Crew and all it adds are: ■Includes Everything on Crew, Plus: ■19-Inch Satin Carbon Painted Wheels ■Performance Suspension ■Automatic Headlamps (included as standard on Crew) ■Body Color Grille ■Body Color Door Handles ■Premium door trim panels (included part of leather package on Crew) However the crew already comes with automatic headlamps. So other than the Performance Suspension, everything else is cosmetic. Is it worth the $1K extra really? Edit: On the other hand, on Dodge.com website it does not let you add the Rear Video, Navigation group with the Crew but it is available for the S/T. However I was able to order these features for my Crew through my dealer.
  17. Don't think so looks like they stopped makign it after 2010. BTW I just got assigned a VIN. Is there a Dodge site that lets you check status base on VIN?
