yeah they get heated quickly over there. for '10 the recommended oil was 10w40 so thats what my father uses. I tell him no need for flushes but he insists saying that ever since he was in college he's used them with no ill effects, so why stop now. But since this oil analysis he finally gave in and said fine I won't any more. 5w30 would be fine but he sticks to what the manual says and no if ands or buts haha. I like Pennzoil Ultra for cleaning the engine and then use mobile 1 advanced fuel efficiency in my personal car (08 Saturn Astra). The PU is crazy at cleaning, 4K max and I need to change the oil. -
So, this is our first UOA on our '10 DJ and we were quite shocked. I didn't want to do a motor flush but my father insisted so we did one 5 min before changing the oil. Metal particulates were high and they suspect that to be the cause. I'll attach the form so you all can see the report. DJ has 47,888 mi at time of change, had PP with a Pureone filter. oil going in was PP with a Pureone synthetic filter. Next time we won't do a flush and see if the numbers go down. I also posted this on Bob is the oil guy forum. I would post a picture but this forum allows a pent size picture. so here is the link to bob to view the report: http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/3366495/PP_10w30,_5,426_mi,_2010_Dodge#Post3366495

we have this on our 2010 and don't know what is causing it either. Guessing brakes. Going to replace the brake discs, pad, and shoes.

Save your money on the ZXE's any bulb that has a blue coating has less light output down the road. get some 9011 & 9012 HIR bulbs instead from candle power store they are a lot brighter than stock by far. As far as fogs go you can find LED bulbs that will fit, otherwise candlepower store also has Chrysler style fog lights.

If you've never used clay on a car before. Oh man is clay the work of the Gods because it makes a cars finish so great before polishing even. -

So you're telling me a dealer can break something then decide if they want to replace it or not?" first thread under "Engine, Powertrain & Transmission" http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/3259-rough-transmission-shifs/ There the link. that sub forum is full of tranny issues, there needs to be a sub forum of the sub forum to handle all of them. -
Vehicle has "shudder" at crusing speeds

Better tires, and early reports people were having a vibration caused by their mudflaps, if you grab the rear bumper on a DJ it is very loose and you can warp the bumper about 4 inches side to side. Go behind the wheel well and give it a good shake and you will know what I mean, if you have mudflaps they catch the wind and cause a shudder. Do you all have mudflaps? The rear bumper on these are terrible. The corners under the lights pop out and wont go back in, and how bad the fit in finish allowing that bumper to move like that. unbelievable. -

I contacted you 2 years ago and nothing was done, a number was given along with a reference number and nothing was done either. Oh and how about a fix for those of us with that tranny issue with its dedicated thread? Tranny slipped out of gear while towing a trailer and revved its socks off and wouldn't go back into gear until I shut the car off. -

Dons auto clinic in Cadillac Michigan-BAD salesmen are awesome but service sucks! I would like to get DodgeCares in on this one. IT was a while ago so maybe there might not be anything he can do but it was after we got the DJ in 2010 or early 2011 when we took it in. The rear license plate bulb sockets were melted and very terrible looking. Took it in under warranty, no problem there. But upon pickup the rear hatch plastic panels surrounding the window and lower portion were not in right and were all floppy. Mechanics did a terrible job setting them into the retaining clips. We brought it back to get done right because I couldn't figure it out and I didn't want to break anything. So they get it put back and guess what they broke stuff!!! When I looked in it with the service secretary there was one retaining clip broken off and laying on the back cargo cover and .5'x1' emergency lift-gate cover were broken and laying there. I picked them up and was like why are these broken? And I looked at the latch cover again and it had a gap still that wouldn't close when you pushed it up where it should. I told her, "this is going to get replaced because you broke it right?" and she went inside sat down at her computer, brought a service manager out and they said that "Chrysler probably wouldn't let us buy a whole new cover just because that broke off." I said you better look into it because you guys broke that! and I never heard from them again. I went in a month later and they said Chrysler denied it. With the emergency cover, they superglued that back on. So moral of the story, Dons will never be my to go place ever! -

Yeah I know thats how it works, but when it never changes its pretty annoying telling you to change the oil way before you need to.
-
Yeah, my input and issues along with a few others who got the V3 tritons first gave them reason to update the V3s already. They had problems and V-leds took responsibility and are fixing them with thicker gauge wires and a flasher unit build in. But all in all they did fix my issues well and they are working great! they are ridiculously bright even during the day unlike most common LEDs. Their new stuff is top quality.

You would think the Comp. Would know if the oil is synth, or dino, not to start another oil thread, but since the computer can tell what octane fuel is in it; You think the car would be able to tell if the oil is synthetic or not and adjust change intervals around that as well.

I didn't know the DJ had a computer to determine the mileage between changes, our 08 Astra also has this. But I don't understand why it has never changed. Idk just my thoughts.
-
For how all the factors in how we drive there is no reason to do it as early as 3,500mi. It has never changed and it will probably never change.
