Here's the official response I got from Dodge... notice that they didn't really answer my question and they referred to my 2012 Dodge Journey R/T as "Heat AWD Hatchback". They also said that my Journey will have chrome wheels (which it won't). I'm sure that there's other errors I didn't catch. Love it... I e-mailed Dodge customer service today to ask them what's up with the emblems with the stripes being in the advertisements but not on the lots. I know that this sounds mean, but I'll be amazed if I get a knowledgeable and accurate answer.

I just got an update from my dealer. They said that the estimated shipping date is 12/16/11. I just logged into the VOTS and noticed that the car is still in the "scheduled" category. I wonder when it's going to start being built?

I noticed today that the 2012 Journeys that Dodge gave away in the "you find it you win it" campaign had the grill emblems with the red stripes, yet the 2012's on the lots don't have them. Here are some pictures of the giveaway models: I really hope my R/T comes with the red emblems... they look SWEET.

I'm not sure if they really come with that badge... I've seen two or three dozen 2012 Journeys on the lots; none of them have the red stripe badge.

I don't know about "must" not be centered. If I have this done I'd want the cut to be uniform on both sides of the hitch. An off center cut would aesthetically bug the hell out of me. I'm guessing it wouldn't hurt anything to have the cut slightly larger.

I agree generaltso; I think it would look more centered if they made the size of the opening equal on both sides of the hitch. There's nothing you'd want to do with the plug; it's convenient to have that there. Obviously the hitch has to be centered; the plug has to be to the side.

Is the opening that they cut for your hitch and plug centered?

I just noticed on the Dodge website that they've upped the local cash back another $750... which now means I could be paying as low as $29,515 for this thing! That's a HECK of a deal considering it has AWD, 6 speed transmission, 8.4" Garmin navigation touchscreen, Infinity speakers + subwoofer, rear LED tail lamps, 19" satin carbon wheels, keyless entry / start, dual climate control, moonroof, 2500 pounds towing, etc., etc., etc. WOW!

When it's all put together in person, it makes for an overall sportier / clean appearance... less utilitarian and plain Janeish if you will. The pictures don't do it justice.

According to my "build my own" 2012 Dodge Journey R/T printout from the website, performance suspension is included with the R/T.

In my opinion, the Dodge Journey is a COMPLETELY different automobile in the R/T trim... it really gives it a head turning sport / luxury appearance while retaining the flexibility / functionality that the Journey offers. To be honest, I wouldn't have bought the car in any other trim... it's just too plain / minivan-ish. With the monotone paint, 19" satin carbon finish wheels, no clunky roof rails, and black interior with contrasting red stitching, this thing looks like a MONSTER.
