Good, rims do not need any cleaners (even ones stating mild) as the dirt should clean off easy with just soap, water and a sponge. Sorry if you felt like I'm accusing you of poor auto care product choices but I had to ask to rule out the possibility of harsh chemicals.

Hah, you are correct on the viscosity of oil. I should've checked it out first that it does take 10W30. Also, I found that your vehicle recommends that you use mid-grade gasoline (89 octane) but you can use regular (87 octane)....good to know for anyone who owns a 2010 and hasn't cracked open their owners manual yet. Car engines and motor oils from back in your dads days are not the same as the ones made now which make the engine flush unnecessary unless you are neglecting the regular maintenance or are having any sludge issues. It seems the oils you are using doesn't warrant the use of the flush. Even your owners manual on page 410 has the caution note: CAUTION! Do not use chemical flushes in your engine oil as the chemicals can damage your engine. Such damage is not covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

I don't have the chrome rims so I don't know if this a chronic problem or not but I have to ask....are you using any harsh chemicals or anything abrasive when you clean them? Also, if your warranty does not cover go to a rim repair shop which will have them looking like new again if you decide to keep the same rims. Actually 12.3L/100 km's is probably considered normal fuel consumption for the Journey in the city. It may get better after a few km's and oil changes like mine did but don't expect a 9L/100 km in the city as it ain't gonna happen.....the Journey really shines in highway fuel consumption.

Yes, the emblem does give the grille some pop compared to the one that came with the vehicle.

Funny, I know many that have left their German vehicles for Asian cars because of the same frustration as yours.

Take it to the dealer and have it repaired under warranty.

I would strongly suggest if you have never done an engine shampoo before go to a professional and save yourself the aggravation or potential to cause any damage to electrical components. If you still feel the need to do this yourself then this this youtube clip is a great tutorial as it does the rinsing with the engine running. With the engine running is a good method because if engine sounds like it is going to stall while using the water to rinse then you know to keep off that part of the engine avoiding any damage.

For a moment reading your thread on BITOG I thought it was going to get real ugly with the comments. I've browsed their forum a few times and some times they can get pretty nasty with the debates....they take their oil changes way to serious. Anyhow, I don't think the engine flush was needed as the Pennzoil (good oil) has the extra additives to remove sludge build up. Also why the 10w30 oil....shouldn't you be using 5w30? BTW, I picked up some of the new PP made with natural gas. Supposed to be like Pennzoil's Ultra synthetic oil which is a very good. They possibly might have Mobil1 playing catch up now.

Save all your oil and filter receipts and keep track of what mileage you changed your oil at because if something does happen and you cannot prove that regular maintenance was performed on the vehicle your warranty will be void.

Owner's manual states 95 ft/lbs (130 N-m).

Actually, after I made the post I was thinking if that were to happen how awful I would feel. Rockauto has always been very good with all of my purchases and I will always give them a plug when people are looking for parts.

Another alternative is www.rockauto.com which is a fantastic internet auto parts supplier and you can also contact them by phone if you have any questions. I have used them many times and yet to have any issues with wrong parts.

I think you are looking at the wrong fluid, possibly you are looking at the power steering fluid (#2) located beside the coolant reservoire (#1)? As 2late4u mentioned the fluid should be kind of a light/clear to dark golden color. The brakes resevoire is located at #3 the top by the driver side...here is a diagram of the Journey's engine compartment.

I'm running 6 cyl. with 17" tires with FWD.
