  1. No, its the current Mopar hitch that requires a bumper cut out. The parts guy was just confused when he opened the box, I guess he hasn't dealt with too many Mopar hitches because of the backorder.

    Floor mats

Dual hooks and black here also.

    Floor mats

Both mats are great, I personally liked the look of the weathertech better so I went with those for all three rows and cargo area and they look and fit great. I know others that have Husky and they say the same. Its all a matter of preference. Look at both and buy the ones you like.
  4. Anyone still need pictures of these floor mats in a 2012? I might be able to find time to snap a few this week if needed. It totally slipped my mind when I took the last batch of pictures.
  5. Update on the floor mats: They fit great. Perfect fit of dual hook models. I have the mats for all three rows and the cargo tray as we don't use the third row much but wanted the floors protected. I recommend the digitalfit mats for anyone you wants a true fit floor mat that protects your floors year round. No more swapping winter/summer floor mats. One note, I did find the front mats seemed slippery at fit, but after some use everything is fine.
  6. Just left the dealer. The hitch is a Mopar and all of the needed hardware is in the box. I was told it was on backorder and very lucky to get on this soon. Appointment booked for later this week to have it installed.
  7. I also have the same question. Do I need the 4-pin or 7-pin? I have a 2012 Rallye AWD and I don't currently have anything to tow but want the hitch to be prepared. Why would I need one connection type over the other? Thanks.
  8. Its not the auto on/off headlights I had a problem with, it was the headlights turning on with wipers and causing my dash/nav screen to dim as if it were night time. I can agree with that, they could've added just that little bit more thought and effort and it would've made a world of difference.
  9. That was my initial thought as well because I have always turned on my running lights during dark/rainy days and thought this would make things just a little easier, but later found it didn't play nice with the auto headlights, which come on when lights are needed anyway. It don't always rain at night, nor is it always cloudy and dark when raining and I noticed that when I turned on my wipers to run some windshield wash my nav and other lights switched to night mood in the middle of a sunny day. Which is not something I want to happen. Now in all fairness I was parked in my driveway with half my DJ in the shade of a tree, so maybe my auto lights were just kicking in until I drove away and it wasn't my wipers+headlights. So I'll give it another try in complete sunlight, but if it starts dimming my nav screen it'll remain off and I'll just rely on the auto headlights or my own common sense to turn the lights on when its needed as I have always done.
  10. I have the same light sensor on mine and was planning on testing it too, thanks for the update.
  11. Maybe its just me, but it seems like most complaints about the Journey involve work needing to be done and the dealer not being able to find the problem. Although I understand and agree with going to the dealer for warranty work, when its clearly something beyond the knowledge of a dealer tech, why not take it to a good independent mechanic? I'm not saying dealer techs aren't good, but I find independents tend to be more creative when trying to find/fix problems.
  12. Thanks. I'll confirm all this on Monday.
  13. I watched that same video that came with mine and was wondering the same thing, couldn't find anything inside the vehicle to indicate rain sensing wipers. Very confusing. Also, the link between the headlights and the wipers was an annoying feature I quickly disabled.
  14. Do the surveys really weigh that much considering how many units they get surveyed on and get good ratings? With that said, I am holding off on my survey for purchasing my new DJ until after I get the promised Mopar hitch installed at the quoted price just in case they do try any shady.
  15. Both quotes seem high for a timing belt replacement on an engine that is still in running order. On all my vehicles I've never paid over $500 tax incl. for a belt change, and that includes the imports. Are you getting the quotes from the dealer or independent mechanic? I always find independents have better prices and service than dealers.
  16. I believe Chrysler is now recommending 235/55/19 as the replacement tire size. Cheaper and better selection.
  17. I don't need the hitch now. I might need it end of July, but maybe not even then. I was told its a Mopar part and not aftermarket. I've also confirmed the part number over the phone and confirmed it is a vertical hitch receiver. Are they any visual stampings or markings on a Mopar hitch itself to confirm for sure it is a Mopar part? I'm also getting concerned now that they have never installed a genuine Mopar hitch on a Journey and don't have a clue about the correct procedure. Should the Mopar hitch also come with the rubber trim to go around the bumper edge after its cut or is that something the dealer adds after ?
  18. So I just confirmed with the dealer that the part number is the same. 82210403AB. This number also matches http://moparonlineparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/2441 What is really confusing me is that from the description I've been given over the phone it sounds like the same hitch, but they are saying it doesn't need a cut out. I've seen this hitch installed mostly with the cut out and only once without. I prefer the clean and functional look of the cut out installation. I'm heading into the dealer on Monday to look it over. Any thoughts suggestions of what I should do before visiting the dealer and/or anything I should bring with me to confirm the correct installation is done?
  19. Yeah, Canada tends to get ripped off when it comes to warranty compared the US. Not sure if other countries get a better or worse deal.

    Dimmer Control

Are you referring to High/Low beam? To switch mine I have to push/pull the wiper control towards/from the dash which allows for quick changes. Not sure I'd like having to reach down for a small dial to control this.
  21. Doesn't Ford offer the same 100K warranty? At least in Canada all companies have 100K KM warranty at minimum on powertrain.
  22. I'll try to remember to watch for the shudder when coasting next time I drive. I'm more familiar with manual transmissions than automatic, so maybe I just dismissed any shuddering as normal automatic operation. As for the shudder when accelerating, it seems to be a common thing. Was your dealer able to fix it for you?
  23. If its not in your coolant or your cup holder, any water kept in your vehicle is a bad thing and has got to go as quickly as possible. As for oil spary, I haven't had mine done yet but suspect if a hole needs to be covered they will do that at the time they spray.
