  1. I just got a call today that my new Mopar hitch as arrived and is ready to be installed, however talking with the parts manager he said its different than expected and it is a drop down hitch the same as an aftermarket and does not require a bumper cut out but assured me it is a Mopar part. Also when ordering the hitch, I confirmed the part number 82210403AB, was this the right part number? I won't be able to make it to the dealer until Monday to see how it looks, not sure if I want that style hitch to be honest. Has anyone seen or heard of a new style Mopar hitch that doesn't require a bumper cut out? Thanks.
  2. I noticed the one of the rear hatch and just assumed it was something missed by the dealer when prepping my DJ. I just ripped mine off without thinking. Mine did have a slit to allow some drainage but now there is more room without the sticker there. I did have to use some Goo Gone to get all the sticky residue off though. After finding the sticker on the passenger side of the hatch I checked for one on the driver side and didn't find a sticker or a drain hole. It was dark out so maybe I missed it, I'll take a look for this and stickers on the other doors tomorrow.
  3. Haven't had much of those problems except for a minor squeak in the driver sit only in one particular position. Still less than 300km right now though, so we'll see. What were the transmission issues you were having and were they resolved by the dealer?
  4. Would the 2011 kit from http://xenonhidconversionkit.com work for a 2012 ? Or should I go with the http://www.ddmtuning.com kit instead? I'm really looking for the simplest worry free HID option. Thanks.

    R/T Rallye Specs

It better not be, I even confirmed the Mopar part numbers with the parts manager and I have to wait for it to be delivered because its on backorder. So I pretty sure I should be getting the right one. I'll confirm again when I do bring it in to get it installed. They did try to sell me an aftermarket at first which I only caught on to when I questioned the bumper cut out and was told they didn't have to cut the bumper.

Thanks. This explains why I was able to get an even lower price for the hitch installed after I rejected the first $299+tax offer for the part only. So is $292.68 total a good price for getting a Mopar hitch receiver installed? This is why I never trust anyone in sales. Sorry to anyone who is in sales. But why is there a need to lie to people to sell them something? I understand there is a mark up and you're making a commission, I don't want to undercut someone to cost them their living, but don't lie just to make a sell. Based on this information I might never return to that dealer to buy another vehicle again, I'm stubborn like that. ^_^

So you're saying the dealer lied to me? I was told the retail price is $349 and was originally offered it at "cost" for $299. When I ordered mine in March the price difference (after manufacture discount of 2K on both) was only $500 and through some negotiation I ended up getting a Rallye at the same price as a R/T with the black roof racks included at no charge. Also, I think the body colored parts look better than the chrome looking parts, which was one factor in my decision for choosing the Rallye over the R/T. My only disappointment was the change they made to not do embroidered seats. This is my first Dodge and so far I'm lovin' it.
  8. I personally really like the Escape, but the 7 seat and other options + price on the Journey really made my choice easy.
  9. Mine was built in March and just picked up this week, so I'm assuming this doesn't affect me?

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind when I go in to get the hitch installed.

    Dimmer Control

My 2012 Rallye built in March has only one dimmer. Wouldn't have even noticed not having the second one if it wasn't for it being in the manual.

Sorry, I should have explained better. The dealer was offering me cost for the hitch (part only) to try and make up for not getting the R/T embroidered seats. The difference in price between Retail and Dealer Cost is $50. Since then the dealer has made me a better offer and will install the mopar hitch for $292.68 total, price includes hitch and installation. I was offered this to compensate for not getting the R/T embroidered seats and I wouldn't accept delivery without something. I still feel I didn't get enough compensation, but at the end of the day a hitch is more useful than letters on a seat.
  13. I know the thread is a little old, but thanks for the pictures. I am suppose to take delivery of my R/T Rallye this week but the dealer is trying to sell me an aftermarket hitch to avoid dealing with parts on backorder. These pictures just helped concrete my decision that I will only take the Mopar hitch and not the aftermarket one. The Mopar hitch is very neat and barely visible. Thanks guys.
  14. OK, I've figured out that not getting the hitch with the Tow Prep Package is normal. So now my questions are as follows: 1) Is it normal for the wires to be included in a bag with the Tow Prep Package instead of installed already? 2) Is it normal for the dealership to charge to have these wires installed when you've already ordered the Tow Prep? 3) My dealer is trying to sell me a aftermarket hitch instead of Mopar to avoid something being backordered. I'm waiting for the parts manager to call me to clarify the aftermarket style of the hitch, but has anyone seen an aftermarket hitch that was the same as the Mopar/Dealer hitch? 4) How much would be an expected price for a Mopar/Dealer hitch installed on a Journey that already has the Tow Prep Package included? All help appreciated. This is my first Dodge and I'm hoping its a smooth experience.
