  1. Mine were installed automatically, and I was just given the lug key during pick up. Did I get ripped 4 standard lugs?
  2. Wow, that sucks. I'm feeling fortunate that mine came new with locking lugs from the dealer.
  3. You might have your light dimmer wheel rolled up a notch too far. Roll it back two clicks from the top notch, the top being when the interior dome lights are turned on.
  4. Sounds like it was story time at that dealership. I don't believe a word of it.
  5. I'll know for sure next month, but I've heard that there is only an initial warning when the TPMS are not detected, but after some driving I think it just displays N/A in the tire pressure menu of the EVIC and not a constant light or annoying alarm.
  6. Nice thinking, I'll be interested in hearing the same.
  7. So just went in to test fit my tires/rims today and everything cleared fine. There is only about 1/4 inch clearance with nearly new brake pads but they don't touch. The service manager said he would prefer more clearance but was comfortable with the fit. Planning on getting all four installed mid-Nov.
  8. All items, including wear items, are covered for the first 12 months after purchase. After that it falls within the normal warranty rules and brakes/rotors won't normally be covered unless you purchased an extra package for lifetime brakes or if there is a recall.
  9. I ordered from Frisby Tire. If I had a Costco membership I might've went that route, but didn't feel like signing up just for tires. Plus I like the ultra ice wrt over the xi2 tires. My total price installed is $1206 with steel rims. The tires on tirerack.com are cheaper but once I took into account the nearly triple price for alloys and the extra cost of shipping, duties, and brokerage; ordering from tirerack didn't make sense. CT might be able to get right rim now but there rim price is 89.99, Frisby was 61.66 and Costco is cheaper still if you're a member.
  10. This is the best explanation (including the one I got from the dealership) as to why the rear takes longer to cool in the summer and heat in the winter. Thanks. As far as I know when you have the rear climate (tri-zone) system, there are two separate units. As far as I can tell, there aren't any air ducts that run from the front to the 2nd/3rd rows. And all the vents that are in the 2nd/3rd all route to the rear of the vehicle. So as far as I know there are two separate heaters with only the coolant running from the front to the back.
  11. I'm just being over cautious based on my test fits at CT. I've gone ahead and ordered a set of 44753's with Goodyear Ultra Ice WRT and should have then ready for pick up later this week. I ordered from a local shop, but here are the tires I've ordered. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Ultra+Grip+Ice+WRT&partnum=265SR7UGIWRT&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yes&wtpackage=true
  12. So far I've only heard of software updates on the nav system.
  13. Any chance you've had time to do the test fit for the X44753 rim? I'm on a serious hunt of tires/rims this week and I'm leaning towards the Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice WRT.
  14. Sounds like the speakers could be blown. If the SW update doesn't work I'd ask the dealer to replace the speakers. A blown speaker doesn't have to look damaged to actually be damaged. I've blown a few car speakers and subs over the years.
  15. I know mine as the rear climate control on its own feed and system for A/C so I assume its a separate system (from the front) for heat as well, and based on the feedback from the dealership when I had a rear A/C question during the 40+ degrees we had during the summer it takes a long time to get the rear motor/system to optimal temperature and the quickest way is to start driving. So I guess you would have to have someone in the back 2nd/3rd row check the temperature when you're in motion. Also, I noticed that the top/roof tubes in my feed from the rear forward, so the 2nd row is the end of the roof tube. This will be my first winter with the Journey, so I'll have more accurate testing information as then winter progresses.
  16. Sorry, browser glitch and I posted the same message twice.
  17. Nice breakdown, thanks. Where did you purchase them? I'm also curious about the programming fee, was this for the TPMS? I was under the assumption they automatically register and connect with the Journey after a short drive.
  18. I have the tow package also, and I'm averaging between 14.0 - 14.5. It was worst than that, but it got better once I stopped using gas that contained ethanol.
  19. Assuming I can get the right rim (so far only actually tested fitted a few at CT) the avg price for brand name tires and 17' steels are around 1100-1200 with the Costco quote lower still, and they all prices mentioned included the balancing and taxes. If you haven't already made the purchase, you might want to try and knock them down a little. Rim price shouldn't be more than 89.99+tax a piece, you can find good brand name winter tires quite easy for less than 200+tax each, balancing is quite cheap, and installation is usually free when you buy the tires and have them installed from the same place. Also, the link you provided is for 225/55/17. The correct size is 225/65/17.
  20. The hardware is the same based on the URLs provided above. So is it just a software update for Garmin?
  21. While I've noticed some of my past vehicles will show full after the click, a slow pump and a bit more after the click has always resulted in the fuel gage going further past full. I think the problem is more about ventilation than it is about a software modification.
