  1. Seems to be the same system in my 2012. Whats been upgraded?
  2. That is interesting, maybe its just as simple as looking for rims for the Crew/RT Caravan with the tire size for the Journey. Update: Just did a quick search on the CT website and both the Caravan Crew/RT and the Journey return rims with part #X44753 for 17s and both take the same 225/65/17 tire size. Not sure why when I went to CT they tried all those other rims with different part numbers, maybe this is a recent update because they're gearing up for the winter season.
  3. Statistically you should be ok, but its always a possibility with anything you buy. I also don't believe the color has anything to do with a lemon, just the the luck (or unluck) of the draw
  4. Agreed. Why catch all the dirt and liquid if you're just going to flip over the mat and dump it out on the floor.
  5. Doesn't explain why they were showing two clearly distinctive white Journeys when the story was primarily about the one particularly owned white lemon. It seemed a little tricky on behalf of Marketplace, they could've just drove a secondary Journey of a different color. Or are they trying to say the only Journey lemons are white? I noticed a few Jeeps and a Ford as well. Overall, it it seemed to show more Chrysler products than others. Maybe someone in there video editing department is a little biased. I agree, Canada really needs a good lemon law.
  6. Seems common on most vehicles, I always fill the tank at partial throttle and pull out a bit to top up the last dollar or two. The click/cut off is just a safety feature so someone doesn't accidentally get distracted and over fill their tanks and spill gas everywhere, its not an indicator that your tank is guaranteed filled to capacity.
  7. Also, I don't believe the 2011 had the bigger front calipers that the late 2012 models have.
  8. Decent enough plan as long as the rims fit correctly. I'd personally have to try a test fit of even just one rim to make sure, so as to avoid potential hassle in down the line. I've just been burned by more than a few shops (retail, auto, etc....) when I took their word for it and then had to fight to get it corrected. So now I just try to cover myself as much as possible and never trust anything I'm told by someone wearing a name tag or trying to sell me something. Is that a price for alloy rims? What tires did you get? My quotes are averaging around $1100 for winters and steels. Alloys with winters and TPMS shipped to Ottawa from Tirerack.com just over $1700 (and that includes the duties and brokerage fees). I just don't want to take a chance unless I'm sure the rim will clear the calipers.
  9. Sad to see it was focused mostly on a Journey, but in all fairness it seems she did have a lemon. I don't know Marketplace was showing footage of two different white Journeys though, one was a CVP with the 16 inch wheels and over 7000 km, the other with less than 200 km and the 19 inch wheels. Glad to see the dealer finally resolved her issue, but only after being embarrassed enough by knowing it was going to air on CBC. Just wonder who ended up getting the recycled lemon, they won't be happy if they catch that episode of Marketplace.

    R/T Rallye Specs

I see a storm grey one around, almost on a daily basis.
  11. Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your purchase.
  12. Check your build date. Should be posted on the sticker inside your door frame. Mine was built in May '12, so no worries.
  13. Update on ethanol affect on fuel. After a couple tanks of 91 octane (0%) ethanol fuel my AVG L/100km has dropped from mid 16s to mid 14s. My driving habits haven't changed and I still drive with a heavy foot from a stop, just level out when I reach the posted limits. In the summer with the A/C on constant I was mid 18s. I'm interested to see what the affect 0% ethanol brings next summer.
  14. So I just noticed all the part numbers CT tried on my Journey that DID NOT work. - X41753 MP - X47326 RT - X41753 MP These numbers were all different than the ones you mentioned, so you might be in luck. Now I'm really anxious to see your results.
  15. Nice mufflers are easy enough to find or are you looking for some sort of cat-back system?
  16. I can't get this to work on my 8.4. The DVD setup button is disabled when DVD is playing. Did you follow any different steps?
  17. Wonder if this one can be swapped with the current 8.4 systems.
  18. The only other thing I can think of is to hook it up direct to the battery with a switch mounted inside the cabin (with a fuse somewhere on the line between the battery and the switch for safety. You might be able to do a google search to see how people used to install those underbody neon lights and such for some ideas. I'm sure there has to be someone that did some light installs to always be on and not hooked up to a dash mounted switch. Just some thoughts. I personally prefer having them connected to the running lights.
  19. I did this in my Integra a few years back when I put in Angel Eye projector headlights with Halos. I used 3M wire taps to connect the Halo ring wires to the side marker wires. It was a simple 5 min job once I knew which wire to tap and the halos now come on when I turn on the running lights. If you want yours on all the time, you might want to check the high beam/DRL power wire to determine if it can handle the extra drain for the halos in the fogs, the halos are just two small leds each so I don't imagine much strain on the system. Not sure what affect it have on HID headlights though.
  20. So is it 255 or 235. 255 is what I was questioning as being too wide.
  21. I've been doing my own disc breaks for years. Drum brakes, on the other hand, are a pain. I helped my buddy do a set on his z24 once and never considered doing them again. Lucky 2 of my current 3 vehicles have front and rear brakes so there's only one set I see a mechanic for. Doing breaks yourself can save a ton, and give you a much better break for the same price or cheaper. Just remember to have a good jack and stands. I also always push my tires (with steal rims) underneath the car when working on the breaks for some added safety.
