  1. Cloth seats here and not hearing anything. We do have a bunch of the kids things in them though, so maybe we have them weighed down enough? when I drive alone, I often drive with the radio off because I like to listen to the quietness of the ride. The only things I notice are self made rattles and vibrations (cd cases in the center tray vibrating, metal bottles in the doors rattling), but otherwise all's still nice and quiet. That said, I do know that the car will start to loosen up the longer we have it and I fully expect noises to develop over time.
  2. You're right; unfortunately the US SXT doesn't have it, but the Canadian SXT does...too bad they can't be consistent with their trim levels.
  3. The Standard cable should be all you need, but I didn't think you could stream services from the device, only music files (mp3, acc, etc). Does that portion work? Unfortunately I only have a regular nano so I can't say anything about app streaming, but you really should only need the cable that came with your phone. cheers! Steph S.
  4. as long as you leave the headlights knob to "auto", they will turn on and off on their own. The SXT should have this feature standard. The timer you can set is a security feature for those people who want to have have the lights on so they can see where they are going after they leave the car (or to illuminate around the car to make sure no one is lurking), but again, the headlights need to be set to auto for it to shut off after the time set. If they are left on, then they will stay on until the battery protection timer kicks in (I believe it's about 10 minutes). cheers, and congrats on the new DJ! Steph S.
  5. once you mentioned the evic for the challenger, I googled Hidden Evic, which brings up different ones for the 300, challenger, and Charger. The '12 charger had the only one that had a sequence that used keys that the journey shared (apart from the challenger, which didn't work for me either). For the 300, it wants you to hold down the music and compass keys on the steering wheel, which we don't have. I tried to use the back and cancel buttons (same physical locations), but that didn't work. The journey quite possibly has other menu's,and it would be great if our resident in the know people could share some of their knowledge :D.
  6. just found one, but not like the challenger, and more emulates the 3 key turn mentioned further above: - get in the car, but don't start or hit the brake - hold the down selection button on the steering wheel - turn the car over to run (but again, don't hit the brake) you should get a full dash diagnostic (ie - dash lights up like a christmas tree and goes through a diagnostic routine) as well as version number informations on the evic.
  7. I'm assuming you're seeing the light display come on the dash? only thing I could suggest is to check the sensor (right in the middle of the dash, right by the windshield, looks like a little dome) and make sure nothing is blocking it. maybe take a cloth and clean it off; if its still coming on in full light, then have the dealer take a look? cheers! Steph S.
  8. as I said, I clicked on system layout and gallery, but for the full sequence, I went to http://www.experiencealpine.com/ , I CLICKED ON THE DODGE LOGO, THEN CLICKED ON THE PIC OF THE JOURNEY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCREEN. I THEN SCROLLED TO THE RIGHT UNTIL I CAME TO SYSTEM LAYOUT, AND GOT THIS PICTURE PRESENTED TO ME: I THEN CLOSED THAT SCREEN AND WENT AGAIN TO THE RIGHT UNTIL I FOUND GALLERY AND CLICKED ON IT AND FOUND THIS PICTURE: Hopefully that helps you understand what I'm trying to point out, which is a presentation of a DODGE JOURNEY, with 9 speakers, and One Amp, unless you'd like to edumacate me some more. Now, I do understand that this is a probably a pretty big gaff on Alpine's side, but none the less, it presents even more confusion, particularly, as you say, THE 7.1 IS ONLY ON THE DURANGO AND CHARGER.... On a side, somewhat related note, the wife and I went to the drive in tonight to see The Avengers, and this system has no power; had seen a number of movies there with the Caliber and it was amazing for it. Also extremely annoying that the DJ would turn off, even when in Acc, every 30 minutes or so and that the interior lighting would only dim if the external lights were on... had to use my had to block out the gauges. Ah well, amazing movie none the less :D cheers! Steph S.
  9. Funny thing is, when you look through their gallery and system layout pages, for the Journey, it says that it has the 9 speaker, 7.1 surround sound system, so it doesn't even look like Alpine know what they are giving Dodge, let alone Dodge knowing. In any case, my sticker shows an Infinity setup, and alpine badging inside, but the sound is still nowhere close to the premium system that was in my Caliber Edit: and to make it more interesting, on the Dodge.ca site, they list the premium system as being from Boston Accoustics. Go Fig....
  10. Can you rephrase the question? I'm not sure what you mean...do you mean folding the mirrors in with the remote? they aren't motorized, so it's not possible. dunno if there's a kit out there for the journey... Edit: Just noticed you had a Fremont...did they add motorized mounts for the mirrors on them? Edit2: I just looked it up online; they did add motorized mounts on them (electric drives) as well as rain sensing wipers...why they couldn't have put least the rain sensing wipers on the NA version is mind boggling...
  11. Glad I listen to BOB then :D Seriously though, I'm really surprised that with the amount of room they have they can't get more on the screen, or have scrolling text...
  12. best place to go would be your dealer; only one I've seen listed here is 1SU84SZ0AA, but it's the chrome one. On this site, you can also find 1VU67TZZAA; it's listed as body color grill instead of the bright of the previous one.. cheers! Steph S.
  13. Depending on the tire, there can be quite a bit of difference; If I take the highest rated tire, some Pirelli's, and price the 17's, it's $166 a tire, where the 19's are $237 a tire. That's a $284 difference for 4 tires. The single Winter tire that's available for the 19' is a bit better, but still, an extra $140 over the 17" Rolly, it doesn't hurt to ask your dealer if they're able to downgrade you to the 17" If you want, although it may be harder with the RT, The ride with the 19's do feel nice, but, because there is less rubber between the road and rim, you can feel bumps a bit more than you would on 17's, as well you have a better chance of scuffing the rims on curbs, if you're prone to that sorta thing  cheers! Steph S.

    Menu Reset

You mean for the oil change reminder? turn the ignition over to run without hitting the brake, floor the gas pedal 3 times within 10 seconds and turn off the car. Otherwise I'm not sure; If all else fails, unplug the battery for 10 minutes and plug it back in; will reset everything :D
  15. I usually use Goo Gone here at the office for removing stickers from PC's and the like, can be had @ Canadia tire, Staples and the like. I actually got my small bottle from a dollar store. It's just a natural Mineral oil/Citrus cleaner and it works fantastic.
  16. Shell around here has started to convert their car washes to do both touch and touchless, depending on your choice. I've always used touchless since having my front plate ripped off (one of the cloth fingers got caught for a second and ripped one side before disengaging), and will usually use it for a quick rinse off more than anything, particularly in the winter for the undercarriage to get rid of excess salt, as they usually don't do a very good job in getting rid of much more than loose dirt. Grime never comes off properly. Otherwise, I can run a hose from my basement in our communal underground parking, or I'll go to a manual carwash.
  17. I've actually been pleasantly surprised that my last two cars from this particular dealer didn't have their badging on it (apart from the inside bottom corner of the windshield), despite many of the cars on the lot having them. First time I thought it was because car was made to order and I took delivery the day after they received it, but the DJ had been on the lot for a while. In any case, one less thing to remove
  18. looking here --[XKN]/4240600/04389988AA.html"]http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/products/DODGE/JOURNEY/BADGE--NAMEPLATE-Decklid-E85-FLEX-FUEL-E85-ETHANOL--FLEX-FUEL-E85-ETHANOL--Tailgate-[MZ1]--[XKN]/4240600/04389988AA.html it looks like it was available at one point for DJ's prior to 2011, going by the diagram that still has the RAM emblem on it.
  19. Maybe it's a feature on the 8.4"; on my 4.3, there's an option to disable to auto unlock on vehicle exit, but nothing that disables the auto locking that happens after the car hits around 15mph; as per the user manual: "The auto door lock feature can be enabled or disabled by your authorized dealer per written request of the customer. Please see your authorized dealer for service."
  20. holy price hike...65K US is ridiculous....
  21. this isn't such a big deal for me, as the only time I've used recirculate in the past is when I've started the AC for the first time on a hot day. otherwise I don't touch it. No issues here; the auto lights come on as soon as it gets too dark (ie going into my underground parking, as soon as the sensor passes into the dark, the lights come on immediately. the only time there is a delay is when the wipers are turned on, and I'd assume that's to prevent flashing for people who manually turn it on for a second and turn it back off again. For me, it works as expected. Question: how well lighted are the tunnels you enter? maybe the sensitivity has to be adjusted? this might be an issue with the diesel only, specifically with the glo plugs; with Gas Engines you just hit the brake, press the button and go. I do like the fact I can cycle to acc and on without starting the engine, but it's totally optional. my main issue is that I'm still trying to turn the key that doesn't exist. I'm also still getting used to driving an auto again after having standard for the last 8 years...luckily I haven't hit the parking brake thinking it's the clutch yet, but I've come close :D cheers! Steph S.
  22. all bulb numbers can be found in the user guide @ page 94, or the user manual if you have that version on page 543. The part number is PSX24W, Alternate number is 12276, and more alternates can be found here: http://www.elightbul...ent-Light-Bulbs
  23. Power liftgate was something I had thought about, but wasn't as important; I like the fact that the gate is made with composites as it does make it pretty light (not to mention dent resistant), but yeah, I can see times where the power lift would be very useful. For the parking brake, I thought maybe it was just my big feet (not that their huge), but the wife ended up doing it the other day too As for the Stereo in the Caliber, it really was amazing; I showed to a number of friends who do custom systems and full sub trunk installs, fiberglass housings and all, and they came away impressed. still nothing like their systems, but impressed none the less.
  24. the only option there is having the headlights turn on when the wipers go on, not the wipers auto sensing rain and turning on themselves, and I'm pretty sure it's not an option on the journey or other dodge models for that matter. I take that last part back; the Dodge's Caravan and Charger do have an option for rain sensitive wipers in their Safety Sphere and Driver Confidence groups respectively.
