  1. First off, kudos to you for joining a forum and researching the vehicle before buying! That's the way I do it. Too many people buy first then ask questions later to find out they didn't get what they wanted. We love our Journey (and show it love by racking up almost 30k miles a year!). Transmission is as others have said...some people have problems and others don't. Out had a rough shift problem occasionally. Had the software TSB done, and it was good for about a year. But now it's back to rough shifts (mainly just when going uphill with heavy throttle). It's definitely software related though, because when you manually shift it never has a problem. We have a 2 and 4 yr old, both in the second row. Those car seats are huge, there's barely enough room for the middle seat to fold down the armrest. You may be able to fit a booster in the middle, but we haven't tried since we aren't at that stage yet. We got our 2012 Crew brand new for $25k out the door. The was with 3 row seating and HVAC, 4.3" screen, sunroof, 19" wheels, FWD, leather, etc. Basically just missing the 8" screen, nav, backup camera, and rear DVD. I thought that was a pretty darn good deal 2 years ago.
  2. Wow, at least do some spelling and grammar check before posting the petition! Seems very unofficial and unprofessional if you ask me. I don't think a petition will get you anywhere...
  3. Yeah, for some stupid reason they went to MICRO2 Fuses on this vehicle. Just found that out the other day when my phone charger jacks lost power. They are hard to find fuses...my autozone didn't have them. I had to order them on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HFNEUZG/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1JWY71SHQ82FV&coliid=I1BC38REZTUJZB
  4. Those look freaking sweet! Get some pics/videos of them on the car! How much did it cost you?
  5. If you look at your manual, you'll see it states to change it every 8k miles, or whenever the evic tells you (which should be close to 8k miles).
  6. Why don't you just bolt them on to see if they fit/rub? Is the bolt pattern the same on the Ford as it is on the DJ?
  7. That's checking it both via the evic and by hand math after each fill up. My evic and hand calculations always match up pretty closely.
  8. That's terrible mileage for that little of weight. I just drove 900 miles hauling a 800lb piano in a uhaul. Was probably about 1200 miles. I averaged 22mpg the whole way.
  9. I don't understand how tires can wear out after 5k miles. That seems completely impossible unless they were racing compound tires. That's just downright insane.
  10. I hope that wasn't your mileage in mpg!
  11. I fought it big time when I had my cylinder head replaced. They first said they would cover the rental for 3-4 days and nicely drove me over to the rental place. As I'm filling out my paperwork for the rental, the dealer calls and says they can no longer cover it. Well there's nothing I could do, I had to pay the $200 outright for the rental. I fought with the service manager after I picked up the rental and when I picked up my DJ after the repair. The A-holes never covered anything on the rental for the warranty covered repair. Stupid dealer. But there was nothing I could do, I needed a vehicle to get to work each day. And I live 50 miles away from the dealer. I think it's dealer specific if they choose to cover the rental or not.
  12. Welcome! That is odd that it shows prints so easily. My 2012 leather/dash does not. I just use meguirs leather conditioner a couple of times a year. I wonder if they used a different type of material or design. Do you have a picture of the interior? The screen of course will show prints. It doesn't bother us though...you only see them when it's turned off. Not sure how to prevent that one!
  13. My cruise control always works. But I have noticed all buttons on the steering wheel have to be pushed pretty hard to make them activate. Sometimes I'll push lightly and it doesn't take...then push harder and it always takes. Are you pushing the buttons hard enough?
  14. I've always used gorilla lug nuts in the past with success. I like to buy lug nuts that match the color of the wheel. I'm painting my wheels black, so will probably order black gorilla lug nuts to match.
  15. My indicator light went off for the first time around 4000 miles. Then after that it's every 8000 miles, +/- a few hundred miles depending on your driving conditions.
  16. I change mine every 8k miles just like the computer tells me to do (+/- a few hundred miles). New engines aren't what they were decades ago. People are just throwing out money by changing it twice as often!
  17. Yep it's the same, push ignition to run, then pump the gas pedal 3 times withint 10 seconds, then turn ignition off. It's in the manual.
  18. Oh man, that looks nasty! I'm surprised your battery was still functional. Looks like a battery exploded in there!
  19. Me too! I just got back from a 2000 mile roundtrip vacation from California to Idaho. On the way there I averaged about 26.5 mpg (lots of uphill). On the way back I averaged about 28 mpg (lots of downhill). I run 5W-30 Mobile 1 and 87 octane fuel all the time. My 2012 Crew DJ FWD has 53,000 miles on it now. I had ~450 lbs in passenger weight, and ~500 lb in luggage/cargo weight. Not bad numbers for a 5200 lb fully loaded vehicle! Speed limit through Utah is 80 mph for a lot of it. So these numbers were cruising at 75-85 mph for most of it. And this was driving in a lot of 100-110 deg F weather too. I had to shut off the A/C for a little bit on some of the big uphill sections since the coolant temp was rising above 230deg F. Still very impressed with the mileage!
  20. I got some H16 fog LED's on ebay for $15 shipped or so. They have the little projector dome on them. They didn't fit in the original housings. I had to use a dremel to sand down a little layer for the bulb width to fit. Then trim off the little tab that doesn't line up. Easy enough. They look great, not sure if they provide more lumens than the stockers or not. I just wanted something to color match HID's. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161209415782?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
  21. Looks great, I love the new styling compared to my 2012! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up paying for it?
