Code on my 2012 DJ: P0302 Cylinder #2 Misfire
onecrazyfoo4u replied to onecrazyfoo4u's topic in Engine & Transmission
Got an appointment scheduled; dropping it off thursday morning. I'll see what happens after work. Having them checkout this problem, fix the fuel gauge TSB, fix the split HVAC vent issue, and the rough transmission shift TSB. Now what are the rules with warranty work, and them providing a rental? Is it if they must keep the car for over 24 hours, they must provide a free rental vehicle? My wife and 2 kids need the vehicle friday morning is why I ask. And with 4 problems to fix, I imagine it'll be there a couple of days... -
Code on my 2012 DJ: P0302 Cylinder #2 Misfire
onecrazyfoo4u replied to onecrazyfoo4u's topic in Engine & Transmission
I remember reading up on that somewhere. I thought it only applied to early 2011 engines though. Mine is a 2012 built in March or April I believe. I guess I'll let the dealer decide what is up though. The check engine light actually went away today on its own, but the code still comes up when you scan it. Kind of wierd... -
So this code just popped up on our trip to San Diego. I've driven it about 200 miles (10 engine starts or so), and the code has remained there the entire time. 2012 3.6L engine. I guess it's time to take a trip to the dealer. Have you guys heard of any other problems with cylinder #2? This past month or so the engine has been idling pretty rough in park or stopped at a red light. I also noticed when you let off the brake to let the car creep forward (but don't hit the gas) it starts rocking, almost like driving on a really bumpy road. It has driven just fine though once you get moving... Have any of you experienced this or heard of it? I popped the engine cover off and man, that is a weird looking engine. I was going to check the spark plug at least, but I have no idea where they are even located! I work on a lot of cars, but have never seen an engine mounted that way.

Is there going to be interference with steering when you crank the wheel left or right? 1" spacer is huge, that wouldn't leave you much thread for the studs. Will a 1" cause any hard/weak points?

Steering Wheel Starting To Shake.
onecrazyfoo4u replied to PatriciaS's topic in Engine & Transmission
If it only happens when braking, then it is definitely 100% brakes related. Welcome to the awesome oem brake quality from MOPAR. If I were you I would go with aftermarket brakes, as you'll see many many MANY brake problems with oem parts on this forum. -
2011 Dodge Journey Pentastar fuel economy
onecrazyfoo4u replied to Defender007's topic in Fuel Mileage
Just installed a K&N air filter and drove 500 miles. Increased my average from 24mpg to 26mpg (going off of both the EVIC and hand calculations). I must say, this filter may pay for itself fairly quickly! -
Holy crap, are 10" wide tires really going to fit?

Steering Wheel Starting To Shake.
onecrazyfoo4u replied to PatriciaS's topic in Engine & Transmission
So does it only shake the steering wheel when braking? Or does it happen during normal driving too? During braking = warped rotors During normal driving = out of balance wheels most likely -
Okay, thanks guys. Maybe I'll stick with the 235/55/19's then since it seems no one has 245 wide series. I was just checking cause the 245/50 were cheaper about $30 per tire on tirerack...
-
Just curious, why are you removing them?
-
Whoops, double post...
-
Awesome thanks for checking; let me know what size you have!
-
I've seen a guy try 255 wide tires on stock rims, but that seems a bit too wide. I know the recommended replacement size is 235/50/r19. But has anyone tried te 245/50/r19 size tire? It would be nice to be almost an inch wider than stock tires. Just checking.

poor boy sweats in rear seat we freeze in the front
onecrazyfoo4u replied to paxmaster2000's topic in Interior
And that is exactly why you get the third row seat/rear HVAC option. Works great that way! -
Mine just started doing this too...select foot/face split and it only comes out of the feet. Go to face only, and it's full blast face A/C. I think something may have broken because mine just started doing this a couple weeks ago. 2012 Crew for me.
-
Sweet, thanks a lot! I'll start looking up under/behind the drivers side dash/radio area. Hopefully it's something simple like a dirty/clogged linkage. I hate taking it to the dealer for warranty work and waiting around for several hours!

My oil indicator light comes on right around 7,500-8,000 miles every time (manual states change oil every 8k miles for a 2012). I've been changing mine every 8k miles with mobile 1 without any issues to date (currently 27k miles on it).

Sound system

Just remember, the 368 watt amp is shared between 6 speakers and a sub. It's not dedicated to just the sub. -
Well I'm at 26k miles and I have probably half the tread left at least on the original 19" Kuhmo's. I'm more than happy with the tire.
-
Lol, welcome to the DJ...home of the brake problems. In all seriousness...our brakes shuddered for the first couple thousand of miles, then magically went away on their own. Now at 26k miles and still have no shuddering.
-
Did you happen to take any pictures of how to get to it? My HVAC is doing something similar. When I go to floor/face split, it doesn't blow out of the face vents, just the floor; only 10% of the air comes out the face vents. It used to seem like a nice 50/50 split. Seems like the splitter (whatever the part is called), isn't actuating all the way...gets stuck on floor vents only.

2012 Dodge Journey 3.6 first impressions
onecrazyfoo4u replied to siteczek's topic in Owner Impressions
I don't use top tier gas stations...didn't see the need to pay $0.20-0.30 more per gallon. I get 24-25mpg regularly filling up at Fast Stop or AMPM. -
Don't be too excited by the fake chrome hubcaps...they aren't real chrome. What was the ridiculously low price you paid?
