And remember, you're supposed to check the oil still hot ~5 minutes after shutting it off. Not 2 hours later when the oil is cold. You will find the level drops down quite a bit when the engine is cold.

TPMS is beeping at me with 34/35 psi
onecrazyfoo4u replied to onecrazyfoo4u's topic in Wheels & Tires
Yeah, 40psi is a little high. I just stick with the recommended 36psi (cold) printed on the driver door sticker. Remember, they'll heat up a few psi after driving around for 30minutes or so. -
13,000 KM before first oil change??
onecrazyfoo4u replied to caperinmuskoka's topic in Owner Impressions
To each there own I suppose. I use mobile 1 synthetic with mopar filter and go every 8k miles. In my 09 malibu we traded in we drove nearly 100k miles on it and used just dino oil every 7,500 miles. Never had a problem with the car. I'll spend my money elsewhere. -
Legalities aside, I would never spend almost $200 on an HID kit. DDM tuning makes very good kits at only $30-40 per kit. I know many many many people that have used DDM for many years without a single problem. The light output looks the exact same as any other "high class, fancy, overpriced" kit. IMO, you're just throwing your money down the drain.

Has anyone ever tried to paint or plastidip the chrome clad wheels? Not a fan of the fake chrome, and I'm wondering how well they would hold paint or plastidip on them.

13,000 KM before first oil change??
onecrazyfoo4u replied to caperinmuskoka's topic in Owner Impressions
I wouldn't go by that, that just sounds like the dealers way of getting more money out of you. Go by what the manual says and when the oil indicator light chimes (which for me is about every 8,000 miles on the dot). Engines nowadays aren't like they were 40 years ago. The "change oil every 3,000 miles" is a thing of the past. Although, I know that's hard to change since we've all made it a habit from the past. -
Are there freaking mods on this forum, or what???

Speaker Upgrade Idea
onecrazyfoo4u replied to 19InBlkJrny's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I know this is an old thread, but does anyone here know how to remove the rear drivers side interior panels to access the stock 8" subwoofer? I've tried, but the panel seems stuck. I want to upgrade the stock sub. -
The diameter seems about the exact same...it's just much wider. The stock 225/55 tire is 8.85" wide. The 255/50 is 10" wide (requires rim width of 7-9"). 245/50 is 9.64" wide. What is the rim width of the stock 19" rims? Do you rub all the time with 255/50/19 tires? Or just when you do full wheel crank left or right?

So how much was the total fix?

Upgraded to HID headlamps
onecrazyfoo4u replied to OhareFred's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Moparman, do you have to pull anything in the engine bay to do the install? Or is there enough room without pulling? Did you do just the low beams? Or did you also get a 9005 kit for the highs? -
I want to get to the 8" subwoofer in back to replace it with something of better quality in my 2012 crew. I know its on the drivers side, but the grill doesn't come off. Do you really have to pull the entire side panel off? How do you get it off? It seems stock where the cargo strap hold is by the 12v power source, and that doesn't screw off or anything. Thanks!

Upgraded to HID headlamps
onecrazyfoo4u replied to OhareFred's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I don't think you'll need the HID Kit Wiring Harness. That seems to be only if you're going up to a 55W kit (bigger gauge wiring kit). And why would you need the H1/H7 to 9006 wiring harness? The DJ is already a 9006 bulb, you're not converting from H1/H7 to 9006. I think you just need the HID kit/color option you want and the error eliminators. But I don't have HID's on my DJ yet; hopefully someone that does will chime in here. -
That's really messed up for a 2-3 year old vehicle. I would imagine its covered under warranty. You drive in a lot of snow/salt?

It looks like you just hand painted the black on without taping or edging it off. A for effort, but looks sloppy IMO. Not trying to hate on you by any means...just my opinion.

Forbes can suck my walnuts. I personally never care what an organization says. If I like the car, and the price is right, I'm going to buy it. Almost at 20k miles on my 2012 Crew...not a single problem. Still love the heck out of it!

Totally jealous of the GT40 (kit car I'm guessing?). If it's the real deal, then you wouldn't be driving a Journey!

If it's 300watts RMS, then that should be more than enough power. Not everybody is into full body 1000watt pumping. If it's 300watts peak, then that would definitely be underpowered. Where do you guys find the specs for the stock amp/sub?

Sorry, I bought the last one (and it was $35 shipped, my bad). Just search ebay occasionally for the part #68079744AB. I bought it from this seller, he seems to sell them often: http://www.ebay.com/itm/190759307278?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_2574wt_1027

I only use mopar filters too. Just FYI, I got a 10 pack of them (you read that right) for $30 shipped on ebay. And yes, they are original oem filters. I compared them side-by-side with the one purchased at the parts department for $7. Great deal!

I'm pretty sure a 255 is too wide of a tire for the stock 19" wheels.
