Yeah, I don't think many people use spares nowadays though. If you do, it's just temporary until a new tire gets put on. I don't see the need for a full size spare unless you are going on long off road expeditions with no tire shop around.

No way in heck would it fit. Only way to make it fit would be to completely customize it. Get rid of most of your storage area in the rear hatch and it would fit.

Well, you'll probably get the same TSB fix to the fuel module that doesn't really fix anything! Many of us had the TSB done, and still have the problem of only gassing up to 7/8 full. I personally think it's a fuel gauge problem. I've ran the vehicle for ~30 miles after the low fuel light came on. Then gassed up 19 gallons of fuel (20.5 gallon tank). But the gauge still shows 7/8 full. I think we really are using the full gas tank, just the gauge is off...

Nice family of red . How much did you get her for?

Rotor/Pad recommendations
onecrazyfoo4u replied to Jay Sixspeedrt's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
That is still pretty sad mileage for brakes. I put on Callahan set from amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Callahan-Premium-Ceramic-Brake-CK002564/dp/B00E1SNKB8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428339837&sr=8-1&keywords=dodge+journey+brakes), like several others on here have. It's been almost 2 years and 50k miles later. Just checked them and the pads are all probably half way worn. So you can count these as 100k mile brakes hopefully! No noticeable lip on the rotor edge. Been more than pleased with the set, no warping, no screeching. Nice, quiet brakes that wear nice and slow. I would highly recommend them! Plus it's hard to beat the price at under $200 for all 4 corners! -
Finally got chance to install HIDS

How much did those run you? What wattage of led are they? -
Oh yeah, I absolutely love the mountain and outdoor scene. Amazingly beautiful out there.

Salt lake is okay to me...but I'm not a huge city person. Being 2 hours from Los Angeles the last 7 years, I never want to live in a major city. The smaller cities around Hill AFB are much more suitable for my liking! I don't think people can get any more rude than they are in California! It is nice to go to the big city occasionally, and to be close to a major airport when needed.

Well, you will find that the "premium sound" is pretty pathetic as many have complained in the audio forum. Most go to aftermarket speakers, underseat subwoofer, and amplifier. Just search around...very simple install for everything. And it will be much better sounding than any "premium sound" that dodge offered in the DJ. You can get really good speakers for all 4 doors, tweeters for the dash, and an underseat powered subwoofer for $500 easy I would imagine. I would just take the money the give me for screwing up and put it towards quality parts instead. Really easy to install yourself. Did you ever listen to a premium sound DJ? They aren't that great at all IMO.

I'm guessing the mountain region forum entails Idaho and Utah? Hard to tell with these silly subject lines. I grew up in southeast Idaho, and was trying to find a job close to home. Well, Hill AFB was a good choice it seems. Anybody living in Northern Utah, Hill AFB area? I'll be moving up there from southern California in a couple months. So excited to get the freak out of the Republic of Kalifornia!!!

They sure do look good, but I could never pay that much for some headlights! -
Need Help from Journey Owners
onecrazyfoo4u replied to Sheldon Doyle's topic in Engine & Transmission
Yep, 75-80psi for my startup and the first few miles of driving. Then it goes down to the 30s psi. That's all normal ranges for this engine. -

Finally got chance to install HIDS
onecrazyfoo4u replied to Mikes14sxt's topic in Accessories, Modifications
HIR's are your only option if you want more output without modifying anything or putting in HID's. Any other bulb brand is going to be crap, you won't get any more lumens on the road, no matter what the silverstars, etc claim. And they have super short bulb life. -
I personally would avoid the vehicle and move on to something else. Aren't the fenders aluminum anyways (shouldn't be rusting). Mismatched tires, sitting on a lot for half a year has to show something bad about the vehicle. Nothing aginst buying rental vehicles, I owned a prior rental Malibu a few years ago and it was a great, problem free vehicle. But something seems fishy as to why this vehicle has been sitting so long. What price are they asking?

Thanks for the update 3 months later . Just kidding, but I went with 235/55/19 cooper CS5's...just cause I could get them for $540 shipped, and they are very highly rated tires. Still wide enough for my liking.

Radio Sound Problem
onecrazyfoo4u replied to DHP's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Sounds like it's time for a new volume knob! It's got to be the switch IF it still works from steering column. -
Is it an AWD?
-
I would guess whel bearing, but I can't imagine with that few of miles. IF you get moving and put it in neutral while still rolling does the noise go away? If so that would be transmission related. Could also be a stuck brake caliper, but you would notice the vehicle trying to slow down on you automatically without brakes applied.

Why not just get a k&n air filter for a few bucks more? $40 is very expensive for a paper air filter. Before I got my k&n I ordered air filters for a little over $10 on rockauto or amazon.

Trailer Tow FLASH (2014 Journey Crossroad)
onecrazyfoo4u replied to sharkbait8574's topic in Hauling & Towing
The aftermarket hitch harness is only $40 or so and is very easy to install. Just run a power line under the vehicle to the battery. Then pop the rear tail light and connect the rest of the harness that way. No need to visit dealer to activate it or anything. Very easy 1 hour job
