  1. Bel is the same as Escort, exact same guts, everything, but sell for a little less
  2. I still love the 2012 Pearl Blue. I was buying a black one I had priced out online, and when I went to pick it up, the blue was parked right next to it. The dealer switched the VINs on the paperwork and I get WAY more comments on this color than I ever would have on black. Went 10% tint on the rear and 25% on the sides, maximum you can do in Arkansas. Made a huge difference. Gonna get some 19-20" wheels as soon as I burn off the factory rubber
  3. Question-- If I replace the 16s that came on the AVP with 18's or 19's is there a calibration for the speedo? Is it something the dealer can flash, or would I just have to live with it?
  4. I thought so too. I was getting a black one, but I saw that blue in the sun and it just stood out. Got he dealer to match the same deal I had on the black one, so it all worked out
  5. No big issues, just newbie type mistakes. Got a couple thin spots and a couple texture issues, stuff ya just gotta practice a bit to get good at.Once I get it figured out, im going to do the rear bumper and maybe the lower front fascia. And if its ugly, it just comes off. Where was this stuff 40 years ago?
  6. First time using Plasti Dip and this stuff is fantastic! The application isn't perfect, so at some point I'll peel it off and redo it, but I am really happy with how it looks. Now I'll have to get the headlights done. Check the full size pic in my gallery

  8. Mine has power, its a self dimming mirror so it has to get juice. I can see the wires under the little plastic cover. It just doesn't have the exposed connector to tap directly into
  9. Hey y'all! Just purchased a Escort 9500ix and have been looking at better ways to mount than sticking suction cups to the window. There's a couple companies that make mounts that attach to the rear view mirror stem that look really cool, and there's a company that makes a wire that will tap into the power to the auto dimming mirror. One problem, the mirror on the Journey doesn't have an exposed connector like most others do. Does anybody here have any experience with these? I really like the idea of not having a cord hanging, but I don't wanna hose up my mirror either. Thanx!! www.mirrortap.com
  10. I love my blue one. The paint changes colors depending on the light and I thought it really stood out in the lineup at the deaership. Tinting the windows all the way around made a big difference too.
  11. Glad to see I'm not the only one that loves the Pearl Blue. I really think its the most distinctive color of the bunch, except for the Mango Tango, which I'm just a tad too old to get away with. I got the tan/black interior and just love hw the whole package looks. That paint really has a dramatic color change depending on the light, which I think is really cool for a factory paint job, and mine shines like crazy with just a regular one-step liquid wax. Still debating on wheels/sizes, but otherwise I dont wanna change a thing.
  12. I set mine off all the time with the damn key in my pocket. I have yet to see a practical use for that thing, I suppose if I forgot where my car was at Walmart it might be helpful, but honest, if I'm that dumb maybe I shouldn't be allowed to drive in the frst place?
