I don't know how tight the fit is, but can you use a lubricant on it? Low heat from a hair drier on the collar and then liquid soap with steady even pressure might do the trick.

That has been my experience and that's only fair. The dealers have a business to run and need to pay the techs to do the work and I wouldn't work for nothing either.

I agree with bigtsr and 2late4u about seeking assistance from another dealer. Some dealers understand what the benefits of good customer service is, but others not so much. You could also call the customer care centre and explain your problem. The U.S number is 800-423-6343 and the Canadian number is 800-465-2001. Good luck!
