    First of all, welcome to the forum. I have to agree that the extended warranty is a good idea. As far as the $1985.00 for the cost, the cost of some of the potential repairs you could be faced with will make this a bargain.

    Were your your doors locked yesterday before you left for your errands? If they were locked you must have had your key fob. Did you forget something and have to go back into the house after starting your Journey and simply put the key fob on the counter and then forgot to grab the fob again? It's easy to do if you're distracted.

    I called the dealer to set up an appointment, but was told they are waiting for parts. Not a huge concern with the high temps we are experiencing, unless hell freezes over!

    I just noticed that yours is a 2010, I have the push button start , but there was a recall on the Fobik for the 2010 Journey. Check to see if it was completed. https://www.cars.com/recalls/dodge-journey-2010/

    I doubt that it's related. You can leave your vehicle with the fob and the Journey will continue to run as long as as no one shuts it off. There have been owners who have complained about losing power while driving. Are you the original owner?

    I had my seats Scothguarded in January 2013 and just had them redone in June. We're empty nesters which makes it easier to keep them clean.
