  1. Welcome to the forum!
  2. Welcome to the forum and congratulations!
  3. I'm not sure if pushing with a front wheel drive vehicle is a good idea.
  4. I haven't had a problem with the brakes on our 2013 Journey and we've driven it 40,000 kilometres. Other than complaints about premature wear on the earlier versions I don't recall complaints about lack of stopping power. Thank you for telling us about this problem and I imagine that you will make sure you tell us of any great product that you choose to correct the problem.

    Meat and Beer

What time is supper? Two of my favourite things is helping people eat the meat they prepared on their smoker and assisting them in drinking their homemade beer. I have too short an attention span for tending a smoker but we do a lot of barbecuing. My favourite is doing salmon with sour cream, chives and garlic and lemon. Better than candy!
  6. This is an update for the Bridgestone Ecopia tires that I purchased in March. I have noticed slight increase in mileage and a very noticeable improvement in the ride quality. It's also definitely quieter. While driving in pouring rain the other day the Journey really handled exceptionally well. It's only been five weeks, but so far I'm impressed. I'll continue to keep you updated.
  7. I have one and it seems to work. We took a 13,500 kms (8400 miles) trip through the U.S. and Canada last year and suffered little bug damage. That was why I bought it in the first place. I also had the paint treated with opti-coat when I first got the Journey, so that also might have helped.
  8. Welcome to the forum. I have the WeatherTech floor mats and that's the one drawback. The one in the back is one piece so it makes it a bit of a pain to access the floor compartments. On the other hand it does give you a bit more security from anyone who is snooping in case you have anything you want to store in them.
  9. Do you ever have any parts left over?
  10. Loyalty should be a two way street. I bought my Journey from a new dealer this time after purchasing six previous vehicles from the same dealer. I did it because the excellent service that I was getting, was no longer happening. They started trying to sell me service I didn't want or need. They say that change is as good as a rest. The service at the new dealership is excellent.
  11. Welcome to the forum Caio.
  12. I don't know why they didn't replace the radio either. The service staff at the dealer that I bought my vehicle from didn't hesitate and ordered a new radio right away. I thought it would be a long wait but the dealer called me the next day and said the radio was already shipped. I got the car in and out in a couple of days. No muss no fuss. Can you go to another dealer? Sorry to hear you're still having a problem.
  13. Wow, I forgot about that. I think I'll second your nomination of the Journey meet up in Colorado! Pass the munchies!!!!
  14. Welcome to the forum. I know you're out driving your new Journey today! I'll bet you'll have a lot more than 21 kilometres by the end of the day LOL!
  15. Hi Curtis, I don't have any advice but welcome to the forum. The members here are quite knowledgeable so hopefully they'll be able to help. What year is your Journey? I'm assuming it's beyond the warranty period because of your hesitance of going to the dealer. Good luck!!
  16. If you're only getting 16 mpg, you're not saving as much as you think. The poor mileage that you're getting is certainly offsetting your savings, and considering the risk to your engine this is definitely a bad idea. Don't forget to factor in the cost of motor replacement. Nothing like asking for trouble!
  17. I would like to add that occasionally Chrysler has been known to repair beyond the warranty period, as was the case with my 1990 Min Van. The air conditioner failed at 6,000 km's over the warranty period. Unbeknownst to me this was a known problem and the service manager pleaded my case with the regional rep. Chrysler paid the whole shot because I faithfully followed the maintenance schedule, the importance of which DodgeCACares points out. The result of the service manager's assistance was my purchasing 5 more vehicles in subsequent years from this particular dealer.
  18. I bought my first car in 1968- a 1966 Dodge Coronet and I traded it in for a British made 1972 Ford Cortina. My next car was a 1974 Ford Maverick which I traded (you think the early Journey had brake problems? 5 brake jobs in 72,000 miles and terrible rust issues) in for a 1988 Dodge Monaco Station Wagon (loved that car). I then bought my wife a 1982 Plymouth Horizon, which was hit by a woman having a heart attack, six weeks after we got it. It was then hit 6 more times (one time the day we got it back from the body shop) before we finally gave up. We then had a 1976 K-car which I hated. We progressed to the mini-van of which we had four(1990-20000, loved them). Also had a 1988 Dodge 600 SE that we bought for my son. I bought a 2001 Neon which I kept for 11 years and it was a joy to drive. In September 2012 we ordered our 2013 Journey. This was the first vehicle we bought that we ordered directly from the factory so we could have everything we wanted. Needless to say the Journey is my favourite. How many Chrysler/Dodge vehicles have you owned or is the Journey your first one? I still remember my first one- err I mean my first car.
  19. Welcome from Windsor. I have family in Winnipeg.

Make sure you check the tire really good as well. My nephew has a jeep and the last time I visited him, I noticed that his spare on the back had a huge blemish. On closer inspection you could see how someone had hit the bottom of the tire, most likely someone trying to park too close. He had to get a new spare. You don't need a blow out on the highway.
