I have to agree with Journeyman, jkeaton and bigtsr. This is the second winter driving on my stock Kumhos and I haven't had a problem. This winter in particular has been a challenge with all the snow we've had but the Journey was equal to the task. Having said that our terrain is very flat, so that could make a difference.

Wow, that comment is sure to get a lot of help from Journey lovers!

Looks like we have a troll in our midst. Not very sharp for a razor!

All I can say is that we love our Journey. It has been trouble free for over 35,000 kilometres and it's the best vehicle we've ever owned. I can't comment on the 3.5 but I can state that the 3.6 is a dream to drive. Powerful, smooth and responsive. I'll admit that some have been dissatisfied with their Journeys but they seem to be in a minority and could possibly be lack of proper maintenance or poor dealer service. Many of the forum members are repeat owners and some of us have family members who were so impressed that they also bought one. In Canada the Journey is #1 cross over in sales on a yearly basis.

Before I bought the Journey, I joined this forum to see what member's experiences were. I was impressed with most of the information except with the tires. A lot of the comments were very negative about the Kumho tires. I really thought seriously about having the tires swapped at the dealers but I couldn't make a deal without taking a big hit on the cost. I'm really glad I didn't, because my experience has been positive. I have over 35,000 kilometres on them and they still look good. I've always rotated my tires every 10,000 kilometres on any vehicle I've owned and check my tire pressure regularly. I'm not sure if that's why mine are holding up, but I'm sure it helped. This is my second winter on them and have not had any problems even with all the snow we've had.

Welcome to the forum Byron! -
Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Adjusting your side mirrors properly to avoid blind spots helps. Most people set up their mirrors in such a way that they see more of the side of their vehicles than they should. Here is a link that gives you some good tips. It takes a little getting used to at first, but it really does make a difference.

2012 issues back to the dealer again.....
rolly replied to caperinmuskoka's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Excellent advice about the brake service because of road salt, especially with the winter we're having this year. -
I can attest to the comfort on long trips. We drove over 13,500 kilometres on a trip through the U.S. and Canada in the spring of 2013 and it was a treat. The gas mileage will steadily improve as the mileage increases. We now have over 36,000 kilometres on our Journey and I'm still enjoying every minute behind the wheel, even with all the snow we're experiencing this winter. I'm lucky I don't have to compete with anyone to get to drive this great vehicle. Wishing you continued safe and happy motoring!

2012 issues back to the dealer again.....
rolly replied to caperinmuskoka's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
We have over 36,000 kilometres on our Journey and have only had the radio and navigation system replaced and weatherstripping on three windows replaced. No mechanical problems and the Kumho tires have been regularly rotated and still in good shape. We love our Journey as well. Best vehicle I've ever owned! By the number of forum members who are repeat owners I would say that says a lot about the Journey! Unfortunately you can get stuck with a bad product with any manufacturer and there should be a better way to resolve these problems. I feel bad for those who have been stuck with a vehicle that they paid good money for and can't get satisfaction. It also doesn't help when you have someone who posts a few times just to stir the pot. -
We took ownership of our Journey in December 2012 and my brother-in-law was so impressed he bought one in the same colour(Copper Pearlcoat) in July 2013. This got me to wondering how many forum members have more than one Journey in the family. I also noticed that many members have also replaced their first Journey with a newer one- so how many of you are return buyers?

Welcome to the forum. I have power seats and they seem fine. That might make a difference.

Good thorough answer. I recall seeing a video that showed the process to check for water leaks for the 1963 or 1964 Chrysler Imperial. It was put under a deluge of water for an hour just to make sure that it was leak proof. Of course they didn't have sun roofs, but it shows the lengths car companies went to, to look for trouble spots. Nowadays assembly is measured in seconds instead of minutes and of course parts are not built in house, but supplied from all over the world. I've heard that Fiat is looking at bringing in a lot of outsourced parts back under their roof to better control quality and help eliminate supply problems.
-
Journeyman, I'm just curious if you've seen or heard of any issues with any other Chrysler products with sun roofs. I would think if this were an engineering problem it would be reflected across the board. Several other Journey owners don't seem to have problems to this extent.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
