Just joined to share my new issue in regards to DJ transmissions, I have a 2008 RT CRD brought brand new in early 2009. Purchased this car for the wife & rug rats....very happy with the vehicle overall but last week some thing has happen to the gearbox!!!?? It seems the clutches are slipping...??? Dodge priced new gearbox at $16500...!! had the car valued at a car yard to see what it's worth for trade in.....$15000 is all they'd offer (no mention of the slipping gearbox from two dealers)... so it looks like if I get a new gearbox in the car which we paid $52k for in 2009 we might as well just take the gearbox straight to the car dealers and just get our fifteen just for the gearbox.
The car has 141 000 on the clock it's great on fuel (Diesel) 950km+ per tank...we've completed all the servicing, even had a few troubles early on with the alarm and that the dealer tried to offer a few little perks (Dodge floor mats etc) but I said I'd rather have an extra 20K on our waranty....no problem......got it approved and now 20k out of waranty its all gone belly up....I just can't believe you can't change the clutches you have to replace the gearbox. (no codes to tell the mechanics how to change a clutch...!!!??)
