I was looking at caliper covers in red but was concerned about clearance issues. Running 19's stock. There is only about 10mm clearance if that. Let us know how it works out and some pics would be great. Cheers.

2012 DJ SXT with new hood and window deflectors
Rubberdude88 replied to Rubberdude88's topic in Accessories, Modifications
<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="rolly" data-cid="25448" data-time="1357506141">
That looks great. The hood and window deflectors are my list as well. I already have the WeatherTech floor mats. I'm also thinking about the mud flaps for the front, but Weathertech doesn't have them for the Journey. Are your mud flaps Mopars?

Ya Rolly, the mud flaps are Mopar. Injection molded with the DODGE logo. Fronts fit perfect, rears fit good with hard push when putting the clips and screws in. I don't think they kept up with the rear end changes and are still selling 2010's as 2012's. But overall I'm happy with them.- 16 replies

Great "How To's". Ours came with the rear back up camera and sensors and I just installed a WeatherTech hood deflector this morning. I drilled pilot holes for the 2 screws (one on each side) and the middle uses double sided tape which to get to stick really good - clean the area with rubbing alcohol then once you tighten down the screws, push up in the middle and bam - done. I let it idle for 10 minutes to generate some heat as I installed it just above freezing. Stuck good now but the screws do most of the work. Cheers.

Here are some new pics of our 2012 DJ SXT V6. Just finished adding the WeatherTech hood deflector and had added the WeatherTech window deflectors just prior to Christmas (front only). Really like the look of the wrap around hood deflector vs. the OEM that stops at the hood line. The window deflectors are awesome - they just snap into place. No double sided tape anywhere. They are an absolute requirement on the DJ due to the way the windshield meets the pillar. When it's raining and you put the wipers on, water just pours into the interior - not anymore :whew: Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics - have any questions, ask away. Previous to the new Hood Deflector...

Nice set up. How's it tow the little pop trailer? I would presume pretty easily with the 3.6L.

Moparman, pretty sure it is an amp issue. 300 watts was the standard back in the 80's. Today, 300 watts is pathetic, especially in a large cubic feet area like the DJ. Update the amp to today's standards - 1000+ watts and only your neighbours will be complaining.

I saw this on-line and am thinking about getting it and having the dealer install. Anybody have any thoughts or recommendations. Has all the inputs to run our PS3 on the long trips to Florida we take every year. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks. www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_33200_XO_Vision_GX1731_Gray.aspx

Front and Rear Splash Guards for 2012 AVP
Rubberdude88 replied to yaupon3's topic in Accessories, Modifications
We got ours from Mopar.com - they are injection molded with the Dodge logo and form fit very well. They also perform their intended purpose and are rigid, not floppy. www.mopar.com/part/82210996AB?s=353095&i=2206101&b=dodge -
We have now completed 2 oil changes (1 free at dealer / 1 in the driveway) and both were done with Pennzoil Full Synthetic 5W20. As others have said, I purchase and stockpile whatever's on sale but it will always be synthetic. As DODGECARES has pointed out, we also used Mopar filters.

When we remote start, the HVAC controls resume the settings we left the vehicle in but it turns on the rear window defogger. Not sure what it will do in the summer??? We'll have to wait and see. As for your problem, it may require an ECU reset??? - not sure. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I'm sure others will have ideas. Cheers.

Snows installed on 2013 Journey RT at Canadian Tire
Rubberdude88 replied to ENG911's topic in Wheels & Tires
I've got 16" snow tires with only about 8000km's on them. Looking for 16" steelies. Any suggestions? I know the bolt pattern is 5 × 127. Will I be able to find steelies that won't rub? Canadian Tire just 10 minutes away. Thanks. -
Just bringing this back to the top of topics. We still need this important topic. Thank you to DJF's moderators and future moderators.

Shuffle not random
Rubberdude88 replied to halofan.3's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
The DJ's audio system asks you if you want the system to read your music and files it into "listening bundles" so to say. If you have set this, it will be playing the tunes that it thinks you like listening to the most hence the repeated songs. Not sure how to reset. This is how it works on our 2012 8.4 anyway. Not sure if this will help you or not. -
<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Psyke" data-cid="25255" data-time="1356448397">
Personally, I can't compare with a BMW as I've never driven one, and quite honestly, the DJ (a economical Crossover SUV) shouldn't be compared to the BMW 5 Series (a luxury sedan) as they really aren't even the same class, and I'm more than certain that the BMW would out perform the DJ in almost any category other than interior space. That said, I've been pushing the DJ a bit since having our first major snow storm of the year, which included freezing rain, and find it performs admirably, even without the AWD option.

Cheers, and Merry Christmas!
Steph S.

I have to agree, you can't compare the DJ to a BMW that is 750kg+ lighter. I find that throttle control plays a huge part in how the system works. Mashing the throttle will give a lot of shudder in slippery conditions whereas a light foot will provide much better results in getting going with much less noise and shudder. Merry Christmas. Cheers.

V-Leds V3 Triton Leds
Rubberdude88 replied to burgandy25's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
The bulb is a 2504 which V-LED's doesn't even have a cross reference for. -
I use an Android app called Torque Pro which works with a Bluetooth OBD II adapter. The adapter which I got off eBay for about $30.00 plugs into the ECU slot under the dash. It provides the ability to read any and all codes the engine could throw. Luckily, I haven't had any codes thrown yet so I use it to monitor all other aspects of the engine. It has a dashboard on my Samsung GSIII and gives me everything from speed, rpm's, intake temp, 0-100km time plus over 100 other parameters. All this from the ECU - not GPS. This is an awesome app. There is a trial of the app but you must have the BT adapter. Sorry to get off topic but I know if my check engine light ever comes on, I can run a diagnostics right from my phone. If I can fix the issue myself- great. If not, I at least know the problem going into the dealership. Very much worth looking into. Cheers.

V-Leds V3 Triton Leds

I read your entire post twiice but still can't grasp which bulbs are for which area of the DJ. I would love to add LED's to the front fogs but my understanding is that they are an "odd" bulb. I have been to the website above and can't find LED's for the DJ fogs. Can you offer any help as in which bulb will fit the fog housing??? Thanks Sorry, ours is a 2012. -
Window Vent/Visor/Deflector Recommendations
Rubberdude88 replied to ozboy's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I just received the front only window deflectors in dark tint. It has been a long process to get them as I went through Chrysler, a dealership and MacNeil Automotive. Over the last three months I have been working with all these companies to address my complaint of water entering the window due to a poor windshield / pillar design. WeatherTech's window deflectors are awesome. They look great, they work and they don't stick to the exterior in any way. Only problem I experienced for the first 48 hours is that the windows would not auto-up. Now that they are seated, the windows go up and down as normal. -
WeatherTech Mats and Cargo Liner
Rubberdude88 replied to forcedintoit's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Yah... not an option for our DJ as we still have 3 kids at home so one is always sitting in the middle and her feet rest on the hump so I want to maintain the winter protection there. Not sure many people would use those in floor coolers in the winter anyway. Better in the summer for cold beer at the beach. -
Unfortunately, you can only fix one problem.Just kidding. Sh*t happens. At least she wasn't hurt... your wife I mean.

2012 Journey Crew 3.6L - battery problems
Rubberdude88 replied to slskene's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Not experiencing any of these issues... yet (fingers crossed). Got our 2012 in June so I would assume it was assembled before May 2012. Where do you find the date? Do TSB's get mailed out cause we have not received anything. -
those with fuel level issues

Does this TSB cover Canadian DJ's as well?
