That's interesting.. In my 11 caravan. The rear heat is very strong. So much that this morning, I had them on hot, and the fronts in cold, and still felt the heat on the back of my head. That, and they come on as fast as the engine warms up. I assumed the DJ had the same heater, as these cars are somewhat related.

No. Won't fit. Even if the size was right, the mounting would surely be different. What exactly do you want to add to your DJ, the projector lens? Cause you can buy a projector kit.

I don't think you would've had any compatibility issues with either radio. The 8.4 adds auto climate, and your car is already set up for that, so adding the 8.4 is a simple radio and screen swap. The crew comes standard with auto climate, while the SXT is optional with the 8.4. That's where the compatibility comes into play.

I actually live in Yonkers, and work in the Bronx. Locally, I have no idea where you could get the 8.4 upgrade. Now I'm not 100% sure but maybe u can order the mopar upgrade from the dealer. Or order it directly from mopar. http://www.mopar.com/part/82213203?s=335634&i=1995161&b=dodge Check that link. I got my 8.4 from a recycler I found on car-parts.com. I too couldn't find an SXT in white with the 8.4. (actually only looked at the white journeys). Back in may there weren't many DJs sitting in lots to choose from either. Where did you buy from btw?

I think I can see why his 8.4 works fine. From the pics, you can see he has auto climate on his 4.3. So he's already set up to receive the 8.4 upgrade. I on the other hand have to have the dealer add the sales code for auto climate. The gray connector you're talking about Lebowski, is the same on both radios. It's the remove USB plug. The black "mirrored" connector is the one that doesn't go anywhere I can find.

Haven't seen anything else from any other forum member. Either way.. Most well known brands are around 250$ for remote start and alarm set up. I think you can likely negotiate to 1 or 1/2 labor to flash it. The serv rep told me (not sure how true, I haven't looked too far in it) that you can install it yourself, car will start from up close, but that's all you can do until you flash it. I wouldn't want to go thru the trouble to find out, he was BS ing me though. Give them a call.. Ask them b4 u buy the kit.

Hey. Welcome to the club. My wife said the same thing to me. NO MINIVAN! Lol. I do have to say. From a 97 Tahoe to a DJ... Even from a 2 door. You're also downsizing. Have u looked at thd Durango? With the pentastar, you still get good mileage and can tow 6700 lbs. My wife really likes her DJ. Even after 4 months, I still get impressed by how good looking this car is. We have it in white SXT with the dark window vents. Looks mean.

The computer flash is because you're actually changing keys as well. Needs to be programmed into the computer. Idk what they would try to charge. Maybe an hr labor? I guess that depends on the dealer. They might do it for free.

Hahagaha. Hey atleast u got a free battery. I've always been told, the battery is a consumable item.

http://bit.ly/QRisqW Idk how much u want to spend, but I think your only option is the mopar kit. Its going to need a comp flash from the dealer too. Check the eBay link.

The Durango starts under 30k So does the Sorento.. The Durango is a much more better solution than either the DJ and Kia. BUT price can EASILY climb towards 35k. I do like the looks and fuel economy of the DJ. Durango is too big for my little lady (5.3") The Sorento is too tight in the 3rd row for my 2 growing boys. -
Thanksgiving?? What day is that exactly for you guys north of the border?

I didn't play with it too much. Once I hit my little snag, that took up my attention. I know u can switch radio stations.. Audio sources.. Call out radio frequencies. Hit the voice command button on the steering wheel and don't do anything. It'll give u some examples of what u can control. Btw, did u get your radio from eBay? 475$?? 2 months ago I lost a bidding war for a complete RB5 radio. Right at the last minute.

So after so much searching, and talking about doing the upgrade, I finally got to do it. I bought the RB5 (allegedly N), and the 8.4 screen with bezel. Came in on Monday, but the anxiety wouldn't let wait till the weekend to install it. Went out last night and did it in the dark. Lol. 1st thing, everything fits nicely. You need to wear gloves to take the radio apart. Behind the journeys "soft" touch panels, there's a ton of sharp jagged edge corners. There's also a lot of tugging and pulling on small connectors. You're going to need s small flat head screw driver, and patience. Now the bad news... Apparently, the lower stack (AC) panel from the 4.3 does NOT work with the 8.4. After install, I was not able to adjust the temperature. On the screen it will not move from 22c. From the AC panel, it won't even beep. I also was not able to find controls for the rear climate.. I'm thinking this must be cause the AC panel isn't communicating with the 8.4. I'm impressed of how the voice control feature works on the rb5. You can actually call it voice control. Not the phone voice control. Had to take everything back out, and now I need the lower stack panel. The right radio (rb5) has additional connects. From the 3 stacked together all the way to the right (pic). It's like mirrored connector for the remote USB. Anyone know what that is? Anyone interested in knowing. The uConnect voice command module seems to be behind the screen assy beneath the vent tunnels.
