  1. happy birthday !

  2. Thanks WOLF, I feel so much better after reading your post! Reading all of the problems this vehicle has as a whole it really seems that the Journey was just thrown together with poor materials and hardware. I really understand about it meeting your needs well though, that is the one thing that it does well. I just wish that it were more reliable. I wish you the best of luck with your vehicle.
  3. Thanks for your input dp360. My wife likes the vehicle and we got a good deal on it, but it has been in the shop more than any other vehicle we have owned. The extended warranty from Dodge isn't much help even though it was the best one offered on used vehicles and I have had to argue with the dealership on what is covered by their warranty. It all adds up to alot of frustration with vanity mirror covers falling off (not covered by extended warranty), brake rotors warping, power steering pumps & resivoirs (2) and next week it will have the second REN radio with my gig installed. I know its not as bad as some have experienced with engine and transmission troubles but it is disappointing. Almost at 40,000 miles though!
  4. I took my 2009 Journey R/T to be inspected last weekend and the man at the inspection place seemed to think that it was very strange that my 2009 Journey shows that it was manufactured in January of 2008. I didn't think about it at the time but it has me thinking now. I bought it used less than a year ago from a local dealership that is now closed. All paperwork and Carfax reports show 2009 and I was told that it was a demo car from New Jersey. At the time I purchased it, the vehicle was six months old and had approx 23,000 miles on it. Now that the manufacture date has been brought to my attention it makes more sense to have that many miles on it with the additional year added. However, I feel misled now somehow, instead of buying a 6 month old used car, I bought a one and a half year old used car. Does any one else find this strange or am I looking at it wrong? Do they really manufacture the vehicles that far in advance? Using this logic, that would mean that they are currently manufacturing 2011 Journeys somewhere. Thank you in advance for your input.
  5. I really like the way it looks. I saw them on the web last night and wondered how they looked in real life. Thanks for the picture. How bad is the installation? 3M Double sided tape? My wife has a white Journey and I know what you mean about strollers and such.
  6. I have been off of the forum for a few months since the wife backed the Journey into the HOUSE! Just got it back from the Cadillac dealership yesterday and ready to pick up where we left off. It's a real buzzkill to wreck a car after 2 weeks of ownership and she did a really good job of it. They had to cut the whole rear drivers quarter panel/fender out and weld in new sheet metal from dodge. Liftgate and bumper got hit and repaired too. I guess back up cameras don't do any good if you don't look at them. It looks good as new, and she loves it again, and here I am looking to see what new things everyone has been doing to their rides. I will try to check more often now that I feel like a Journey owner again. I found some really great posts on here tonight.
  7. I'm not sure if the ipod interface cable comes with a "package". I bought my 09 Journey with the same entertainment package as you describe and the connector wasn't in the glove box. The cable was clipped in the upper left on the glovebox but the parts counter staff had no idea what I was looking for or where it went. I finally asked them to let me take both of the cables they had listed out to the car and try them both. Process of elimination being what it is. It cost me about $38.00 but well worth it.

  10. Just wanted to take a moment to say hello to everyone here. I have been looking at the site for a few days now and decided to register. I just bought my wife a 2009 Dodge Journey R/T after some fool ran a red light and totaled her Pontiac G6 for us. We bought a used R/T that is white with tan leather interior, My Gig, rear DVD, and sunroof. So far so good, we are very pleased with the vehicle. My only concern is that the previous owner put 21,000 miles on it in approx 6 months. This being our first Dodge product I am not too sure of the longevity of their engines/transmissions. I am going to get the front windows tinted this weekend and perhaps I will try my luck at posting pictures. I really enjoy the things that everyone shares on the site and I am glad to be a part of the group.
