New safety recall recieved in mail yesterday
aukfan33 replied to tyeayo's topic in Recalls & Technical Service Bulletins
Have my appt tomorrow for this. -
You have the option of upgrading the brakes. In this same forum check out Successful BIG BRAKE upgrade on 2011 Crew. When I owned a early 2012 (before they changed the brakes to a larger system) I used this to upgrade the fronts to bigger rotors/pads.

Sirius Radio Subscription
aukfan33 replied to redtomatoman's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Like most of you I'm hooked on sat radio. I don't remember the last time I listened to regular radio. I was able to get the subscription renewed for a year at a little over $100 USD by calling the following number: 866-635-2349. Told them i wanted to keep All access but couldn't afford $200. The cust serv put me on hold for a minute or two and offered me a year for $130 after taxes. -
So if the vehicle was not already built with the option, it can't be added by calling corporate and asking them to add it at their end? In the future, maybe not have it as an option on the Uconnect so folks don't have an expectation that they can have drl activated. Not sure why this has to be a point of angst between the consumer, the dealer and the corporation. If the user wants to have DRLs, they should be able to get them.

Rental reimbursement for engine repair
aukfan33 replied to aukfan33's topic in Engine & Transmission
Well, I didn't just "sit back" as you put it. I asked the POC on the other end if they had everything they needed and was told they needed nothing else. In my line of work, you must check and double check everything otherwise, people are unnecessarily put in harms way. If you'd read the entirety of my post, I became frustrated after being told this was being handled. If it were up to me, this would've been handled long before it came to where we are now. A manufactorer's design defect should not fall on the consumer to have to spend additional monies to correct. -
Rental reimbursement for engine repair
aukfan33 replied to aukfan33's topic in Engine & Transmission
Update, never heard anything back from dealer or corporate (even after I was told this would be taken care from corp as a goodwill gesture) I suspect Dodge/Chrysler is not alone in not making it right for their customers especially when the fault is solely on the manufacturing. As much as I love the DJ, being jerked around is enough for me to say this will be my last Dodge! -
Please take a look at my thread about rental reimbursement. There's an RRT for this very issue. The problem is the cylinder head is defective and will need to be replaced. Even if they don't want to use the RRT, this will be covered by the powertrain warranty.

Rental reimbursement for engine repair
aukfan33 replied to aukfan33's topic in Engine & Transmission
Rented a vehicle from Enterprise from Monday to Friday costing $199.00. DJ was dropped off Monday and picked up Friday. Was told by someone I'm assuming was Peterson's Dodge service manager after pressing the issue that he'd have his boss call corp to request reimbursement but they never called me back as promised. Spoke with cust serv rep at corporate named Jessica who informed me that the dealership would have to cover this. -
Rental reimbursement for engine repair
aukfan33 replied to aukfan33's topic in Engine & Transmission
I was told they were out of loaners when I dropped off the DJ -
2012 dodge Journey I had the left cylinder head replaced (under power train warranty) due to a p0302 MIL which has been a common manufacturing problem with many of the 2011 and some 2012 DJs. Has anyone whose had major engine work been able to get reimbursed for cost of rental while your DJ was in the shop? If so, what did you have to do? Already spoke with both the dealer and corporate and received no approval. Doesn't seem fair to have the consumer pay for a manufacturer problem. There is also a RRT for this ame issue Not a recall, an RRT (Rapid response transmittal) .....dealers are supposed to run the vin any time you in for service, and do any of these that show up. ADDING BACK-UP CAM TO EXISTING UCONNECT 8.4
aukfan33 replied to Felix A. Nunez's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Will the production camera work with the RB5 without having to get a lockpick? -
I have replaced the pass side piece twice, once at the dealer and once from a mopar site. Honestly, it wasn't much cheaper getting it online after paying shipping. If it breaks again i probably won't replace a third time.

Don't worry about this, when one of the tires spins faster than the others (uphill on snow and ice) it'll throw the light. The next time you start the DJ it should turn off, at least it does for me. Another situation that'll throw the code is putting the spare tire on as its a different diameter.

8.4 to 8.4N
aukfan33 replied to alainbock's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Well... If you wanted the radio to fit a Dodge Journey I dont think it will. Appears the radio came out of a Charger. -
Seems a little misleading in that you stated it was a 4.3s (S refers to satellite on my radio) but, looking on the Uconnect site the RHA radio doesn't have a SAT capability. As I said before, my understanding of capable (combined with it saying when properly equipped) means additional equipment has to be installed for SAT to function.
