My journey is dead - Battery Died
DodgeCACares replied to Chris1276's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Chris, Let me know how you make out in regards to the no start issue you unfortunately experienced. As for fuel economy, red made a very valid point, you need to let your engine break in a bit but you should also take in to consideration that, aside from stop & go driving and long idle/warm up time, you are currently driving in pretty cold and and bad weather, and this is just a guess, to go along with your winter tires - your economy will be very poor in comparison to optimal conditions with summer tires. That being said, once you get to your first oil change and you haven't seen any difference in fuel economy, ask your dealer to start a fuel consumption test. From there they will be able to advise accordingly. -
Perfect, Let us know what they find. If you need anything, send me a PM and I will see what I can do.

Persistently blowing power steering hose
DodgeCACares replied to RodOracheski's topic in Engine & Transmission
Northcountry, Sorry for the inconveniences this issue has caused as well as the frustrations. Road Side Assistance has been been experiencing a much higher than normal call volume due the weather we experiencing in most of the country which is the reason for the regrettable delay. As for the issue at hand, has the vehicle been brought to your dealer as of yet? If so, what have they advised or done? If you would like, please send me a PM with your VIN, name and dealer name and I can reach out to them to help remedy the issue. -
Whitesxt, Seeing as it is only noisy when cold, it could be anything just getting free from pulleys to pumps to belts etc. If it is of a concern to you, I would recommend getting it in to your dealer just to make sure but then again it maybe be nothing other than a loud belt like Rubberdude mentioned.

Dodge, Sorry to see you are still having issues with your dealer and the front brakes. To clarify, when a dealer says they are speaking with the district manager, it will never be known at customer service, so no agent that get your call will know what is going on. That being said, if you would like some assistance in getting an answer/resolution to the front bakes, send me a PM with your VIN, name and dealer name and I will see what i can do for you.

drozz, I am still looking in to this for you, and everyone else who is concerned, with our technical assistance group. What radio do you have, or you can send me a PM with your VIN and we can pull the info from there. -

Ferrari, If you want, I can help look in to the drone, mostly for the peace of mind of knowing your dealer is aware and looking in to it for you. This way they know what is going on and they can follow up if/when there is a fix. Just send me a PM with your VIN, Name and Dealer name and we'll go from there.

Thanks All, Chris and I do our best to ensure that you are looked after and will continue to do so. -
SeXT, For vehicle MY 2007 to 2009, the US has a Limited Lifetime Powertrain Warranty. This was changed for the 2010 MY to 5 year / 100,000 mile coverage. _1949, Not knowing off hand what year your DJ is, have you reached out to US customer service or DodgeCares in regards to your concern?

Gave the AWD a good test today!
DodgeCACares replied to Jay Sixspeedrt's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
oracle, They are not the same. The AWD system in the Journey is a Chrysler design, not related to the M-B 4matic at all. -
kohlozzy, Red and SExT are pointing you in the right direct, get your DJ in to your dealer and make they diag properly and if you have any questions, send me a PM.
-
ToastMan, It's hard to diag with your winters on but I would suggest getting it to your dealer in the new year. If you can, bring your summers with you and your dealer should be able to let you know what is going on. Send me a PM if you have any questions.
-
biohazard, Happy to see you love your DJ and even happier that you are ordering a 2013! We thank you for you loyalty!

Weird transmission pause and noise
DodgeCACares replied to klingoff's topic in Engine & Transmission
klingoff, I agree with Red, the sound is odd but the hesitation is normal. When you have a 6 or 4 speed transmission in the Journeys, they are trying to drive in an fuel efficient manner so shift patterns are different from what we are all traditionally accustomed to and will feel different. My Journey and my Ram both do this - the Ram is a different animal though. You have a very different transmission in your DJ compared to your Patriot; going to a "traditional" 4 speed trans from a CVT is a whole new ball game but your apprehension is understood given your previous experience with the Patriot. Get the Journey in to your dealer and ask the Service Manager or Shop Foreman to go for a test drive with you so they can experience the sounds and the hesitation. Don't hesitate to tell the Service Manager that you are feeling a bit unsettled because of your Patriot - he's human, he'll understand. If you need any help after that, send me a PM and I can work with your dealer to resolve it - if there is an issue that is. -
Who here had a dead battery on a new '11?
DodgeCACares replied to Geer's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
SeXT, Thanks for the plug! dkplatner, Send a PM to Chris (DodgeCares), he's my US counterpart - he posted to Army_Mother up above. Very knowledgeable and will be happy to help look in to any lingering issues or if you want, you can call US Customer Care at 1-800-992-1997. Hope everything works out for you. -
Srtified, Engine idle speed will vary depending on engine temp, A/C on or off, etc. Chrysler targets for as low an RPM as possible to reduce fuel usage and Greenhouse Emissions. Engine RPM will be high when the engine is first started and drop as the engine temp increases. Hope that answers your question.

Key not detected
DodgeCACares replied to walker's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
Keith, Like bigstr pointed it out, this is by design. As I posted before, vehicle’s with “Keyless Go” will continue to run the engine with the ( key present-key in range) or ( not present- key out of range) once started. This is actually done on purpose, similar to starting your vehicle and leaving the key in the ignition. Once your Journey is started, it stays running; when you walk away the EVIC will say “key out of range” but will not shut off. This is part of a safety feature that enables the vehicle to stay running in the absence of a signal from your key in the event that you dropped someone off with the Fob in their pocket. i.e. you’re running errands and the passenger leaves with the FOB in their pocket or purse, your vehicle won’t shut down unexpectedly when it sees the (Key out of range). Hope this clears up what you experienced yesterday at your dealer. -
pcrmike, The carriers attach to a majority of the production Roof Rack Cross Bars. If not, Sport-Utility Bars or Removable Roof Rack, all sold separately, will be needed and a T-slot adapter may also need to be purchased. Hope that helps.
