  1. My experience with Evap codes is check the gas cap first. I've thrown these codes and checked everything but the gas cap. Only to find out it was indeed a loose/faulty gas cap. Not sure if all vehicles will do this but in my experience it has been the case numerous times. Even if you don't plan on working on your car yourself I would recommend a scanner. Especially being so affordable nowadays.
  2. Welcome to the forum, congrats on the Journey.
  3. The newer Journey's are light years ahead of the older Journey's. Mine has been a real pleasure to own and I hope to buy another some day. Good Luck!!
  4. Welcome and congrats on your Journey!
  5. Welcome fellow Moparian!!! I also own a Journey and a Town & Country, been pleased with both so far... Congrats on your purchase!!

    Hi

    Welcome to the forum
  7. x2, that's one sweet ride Mr. R/T.
  8. Don't feel bad Bigtsr, I have only washed my Journey once all winter. My Pearl White is looking more like Hurl White. Its embarrassing, thank goodness Spring has almost sprung!!
  9. Looks great! Nice color choice too. Although I haven't seen a Journey in any color I didn't like... they all look great!!
  10. Very nice, congrats on your new ride. She's a beauty!!
  11. A quick google search for P0234 says you have an issue with your turbo/supercharger. I would check for crimped wires or anything out of the norm that has to do with the turbo/supercharger, just to make sure its nothing obvious. Good Luck
  12. It seems to me that Dealer negligence is the biggest part of the complaint. You can dig up stories like this on any car via the internet, not just Dodge Journey's. I love mine and will definitely buy another someday.
  13. All new designs come with growing pains, the Cherokee will be no different. To say the transmissions were blowing up like popcorn is a bit of exaggeration. The design was definitely a change that cars need nowadays. Manufactures seem to play it safe and stay with the trends, creating cars that look the same all across the board. Kudos to Jeep for thinking outside the box and pushing the envelope to expand the way cars look today. I also remember in the late 90's when the Dodge Ram was redesigned. Most people I talked to didn't like it, myself included, but it didn't take long before all trucks were made to look like this. Now, 15 years later, the grill and front ends still favor that trend. Its no secret that CR has never been partial to Chrysler. If I listened to CR, then I would be driving a Toyota, Kia, or Honda. Me personally, I would never be happy driving a gas sipping, economy vehicle. I will gladly spend an extra dollar or two a day to enjoy 285hp and something that can haul my family of 5 and my dog. If gas mileage is a big concern then I wouldn't buy a Journey, but if you want performance and value, I would highly recommend the Journey.
  14. We do have a troll, lets hope he don't play with razors at 4:20. That's dangerous
  15. If you want the latest and greatest I would go for the 3.6. I own 2 Pentastar 3.6 equipped vehicles and I love them both. Chrysler really hit a home run with the 3.6, IMO. But I wouldn't hesitate to own a 3.5 either. Great little engines too, just a little older design. My friend owns a 2007 Dodge Ram with the 3.5 and he loves it. 120k miles with little to no problems. Its no slouch either in his little 2 door Ram. Welcome to the forum!!
  16. Geez! $1500 for a brake job is a little pricey. That's the only motivation it would take for me to do my own brakes as well. Good luck with the Callahan kit. Hope it works well for you.
  17. My Kuhmos have held up well with 27k miles on them. Rotation and air pressure seems to be key with them (as with any other tire). I have done mine 3 times, with the intent of a 4th soon. I don't see myself getting more than 35 to 40k miles out of them but that is totally acceptable to me for a stock tire. Michelins and Goodyears are my choice of tire and I cant wait to put a set of either one on my Journey. My Town and Country is a different story though. At 9k miles the outsides on the front are beginning to show wear faster than the Journey did. I "have not" done a rotation on them yet though. So its actually a bit of my fault that they have worn faster. Just need some warm weather to rotate some tires. B) My only complaint with the stock Kuhmos is the tight tread pattern, they pick up every little pebble in my gravel driveway. I will be putting a more aggressive tread next go around.
  18. I only have the 4.3 in my Journey. I tried this a few times as well with no luck. Soon I became frustrated and said screw it, I have better things to worry about. I have the same problems with my wifes Town and Country. I just assumed I was electronically challenged. As long as I can plug my mp3 in and listen to music I am good. To hell with the rest, its way over my head anyways!!
  19. Good luck with your Journey, and welcome to the forum. That white R/T is looking nice!
  20. My friend from Australia is constantly telling me our cars are cheap over here. I wasn't convinced til he brought me back an auto sales magazine recently. New Journey R/T's are nearly $50,000 over there. Love the Journey, but at $50k my mind starts thinking slightly used Viper or SRT8 Challenger.
