  1. I also changed mine for the first time at just under 1000 miles. The 1st "reminder" come on at just over 8,000 miles.
  2. The Pentastar is starting its 4th year in production. There was a lot of hype when Chrysler introduced it in 2011. I love my Journey, and the Pentastar seems to be great so far. But, the long term reliability is something that intrigues me. So I decided to see how many miles/kilometers people have gotten out of their Journeys with the Pentastar engine. I currently have 23,600 miles/ 37,980 kilometers (I think I have the kilos right) on my 12' Journey. Kinda weak I know, but I don't drive my Journey everyday.
  3. Apparently so, I have been on here for over a year now and I don't think I have seen any post from them. I just assumed it was like Allpar. The mods there post more than the members! BTW, your red Journey looks sharp!!
  4. Chrysler's reputation in the States has suffered over the past 10-20 years. Bailouts, reliability issues, vehicles manufactured in Mexico, parts outsourced from China, the Germans, and now the Italians, has contributed to this. Being a huge Mopar fan, I have heard all these things from family, friends, and anyone willing to share their negative experience. I am all Mopar, and will continue to be as long as I enjoy the products Chrysler produces. Truthfully I could care less what people say. Misery loves company but this country boy is HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!!!
  5. I was always a GM fanatic too!! Until I drove a Dodge Ram back in 06. I still own a couple late 80's model Chevy Trucks as a hobby but its been Mopar or No Car for me ever since!! Welcome to the Forum
  6. I bought a new Ram in 08 for less than CarMax wanted for a used one. I got 0% interest as well, and CarMax wanted nearly 8% with a great credit score. That interest is where they get you. If you can negotiate a good interest rate, you will save thousands. Which usually makes up the difference of buying a slightly used one. But, at the same time I know some people who would never buy new.
  7. Its whatever people want to call it. Why are you concerned? Troll!!!!
  8. Well said, I have a 12 DJ and my wife has the 13 T&C. They are both equally impressive. Although the van isn't as light on its feet as the DJ, it's still really surprising how well the vans perform. The sound from the 3.6 is my favorite part of both of them!! But I must admit, I like my Journey just a little more than the T&C.
  9. Sorry to say, but the pics on your profile page are not a 2013 Journey. Its either a 2009 or 2010!
  10. I agree, cool show. Did you drive your Journey there?
  11. Your lucky, I cant wait to visit Vegas someday. Closest I have come to Vegas is watching Pawn Stars on the History channel.
  12. Had to clean the words WASH ME from the rear window. Damn kids!!
  13. I guess we agree to disagree. No big deal, everyone has their own opinion in this. Maybe Rebus will find conclusion soon and let us know the results so we all can learn how Dodge handles this.
  14. What good is a warranty if they pick and choose what they want to cover? Brakes and tires are not warranty items, I understand that, but in this case the calipers were the problem that caused his brakes to go bad so quickly. Rear brakes should be trouble free for a long time. And 2-3 years on a set of back brakes is unacceptable. And he did pay $230 for 4 brake pads and 2 rotors to be turned. Its not like they did him any favors there. All I am saying is, I think his case is worth the fight.
  15. Ok, my bad. I misread it. Regardless, I cant say I agree that sticky calipers is acceptable on a 2-3 year old car no matter what the cause.
  16. I would call Chrysler Customer Care and explain to them your situation. Be polite and informative, and with some luck they will call the dealer for you and handle it right then and there. I had a problem with getting the little flashlight at the back door of our T&C. After multiple tries to get it through the dealer, I finally called Chrysler Customer Care. The lady put me on hold and called the salesman while I was on the phone. 3 days later I received my flashlight through the mail from the dealer. Good Luck
  17. Sticky or faulty calipers should be covered under your warranty.
  18. I definitely cant wait to get some and try it. I have 2 old project trucks that really need some TLC and this stuff looks simple enough to try without messing something up permanently. Great link on PlastiDip! Thanks DTSGUY
  19. Cool... I am in Home Depot everyday and probably walked by it 1000 times. Thanks for the info!
  20. Bought my Journey almost a year ago today. Build date was August. No problems with it so far. But, my wifes T&C was purchased April of this year and it was on the lot for a long time. It was built in August. I knew of some of the issues during the transaction but some things I didn't find out til later. Warped rotors, floor mats missing, DVD remote and headphones were missing, flashlight at the back door was missing, and the worst of all I found some body damage after washing it. Yup, looked like someone side swiped a pole or something. But I must admit the dealer handled everything and after 6 months I had everything taken care of and its a really great van now. Because of some of these things I was able to buy a T&C for what a base Grand Caravan base model would have cost. So now after all that I can say it was worth it. But more importantly I learned to inspect everything as close as possible when buying a car that's been sitting on the lot for awhile
  21. Nice look, actually I think it looks better than the chrome. I keep hearing about Plasti Dip. What is it and where do you get it?
  22. My local dealer says its the best time every time I go in for service or anything. Lol I have bought cars at every time of year and "for me", my best deal came in December. I started working the deal early in the month and 2 days after Christmas I was a proud owner of a new 2008 Dodge Ram. They finally sold it to me for $13,000 off sticker price. But it was when gas prices were really high and people were not buying big trucks. Sometimes I think persistence pays off also.
  23. Welcome Nice looking Journey. That storm gray is sharp!
