  1. Ditto, I have found that doing brakes myself is a better solution than going to a dealer. I bought a 2013 T&C earlier this year for my wife (glad to say she doesn't drive my Journey anymore) and it had warped rotors with only 15 miles on it. Come to find out, the dealer had our van in a lot with dirt and gravel for nearly 8 months and it didn't get moved for that whole time other than just shifting cars around. So after a few days my wife started to complain of shaking and squeaking when she stopped. Rather than go back to the dealer, I did a complete front to back brake job on a new van with less than a 100 miles on it. You wouldn't believe how much rust was on the back side of the rotors and in every crack or crevice in the brakes. I took all 4 rotors to Oreilly's to be turned, cleaned up the pads that were from the factory and reassembled everything in about 4 hours. Now she has over 5000 miles and still no squeaking and shaking. The pads still look brand new. Chrysler knows about the brake problems on the earlier Journeys but if it was my car I would search out a bigger set of brakes and rotors just for piece of mind and so I didn't have to spend time arguing with a dealer and Chrysler. The new Journeys have bigger brakes and if you really want to search for a permanent solution then I would definitely upgrade to the bigger brakes. Best of luck to ya
  2. Oh well, it was fun thinking about a new Journey for a little while.
  3. Cool, post back after your next upgrade. Curios to see how it goes.
  4. Thanks Journeyman, I looked for some info on it but I guess I was looking in the wrong place.
  5. Nice work, did the speaker change make a difference? I might have to try this.
  6. Welcome to the forum and thanks for the info. 50kb is all that they allow to post a pic. I had to go into my phone and change the picture settings to make the pic as small as possible. It is a little frustrating trying to take a pic that small. Maybe someone else will have a better answer for that but this is what I had to do to upload a pic.
  7. They did a real nice job!! I like the black exhaust tips and the heavy duty hitch also.
  8. Congrats!! Good luck with the forum, and your Journey...
  9. A vibration does not make it a lemon. Its probably something simple and can be fixed with the right help. You shouldn't have to pay for anything out of pocket if you bought it new. Why did you change your tires 4 times? The 1st tire change should tell you that you don't have a tire problem. Does it vibrate at all speeds? Or does it vibrate at certain times in certain gears? Calling Dodge will not help until you have someone that can diagnose the problem correctly. As much as people here would like to help you, its up to you to find a reputable dealer and have them diagnose the problem. If you apply for a lemon law then it could take months to get any results from it and even then you are not guaranteed the results you want. I would devote hours if need be and call every local Chrysler dealer in your area and try to get some info from the technicians. Then you can decide where to go based on your phone call with different dealers. You might have to try multiple dealers but it will be worth it in the end. It sucks to buy a new vehicle only to have problems with it immediately. I to went through this with a Ford Explorer that was slipping in and out of gear with only a few thousand miles on it. Through research I finally found a dealer over an hour away that knew what the problem was and fixed it while in warranty and I never had the same issue again. Be patient and good luck to ya!!
  10. So, I have been on the forum for awhile now and I am curious to know who the current moderators are? Anyone know who they are? Thanks, Brian
  11. Paulding, Georgia in the USA. Warm humid weather and all the mosquitos you could ever want!! Yep that's Georgia... Cant wait for cool weather but not arctic weather as you Canadians are embracing for, lol. :fear:
  12. Why buy a CAI when all cars these days come with them? When they started moving the air filter to the side of the engine bay, they pretty much already installed a CAI for us. Just slap a Mopar sticker on your air filter box and you will have the same thing for a lot less money.
  13. If the noise isn't real loud then its probably ok. A small amount of noise going through the gears is common in any vehicle that is FWD. Good Luck
  14. Did your Journey come with Kumho tires? If not you should try them. They seem to be a decent tire with a smooth ride on my Journey. Also, is your Journey FWD or AWD?
  15. I am curious to see if it will be branded by Chrysler or Dodge. It does appear to have the Journey shape from the side but the front end looks a little beefier and the side mirrors have a more aggressive look. They also appear to have added a hitch receiver which is a great feature. Cant wait to see the real thing in a couple years!!
  16. I never said that the Journey was a perfect vehicle or that they haven't had their share of problems. As you stated, the forum is to help people with problems and get a chance to communicate with other people who share the same choice of vehicle. He stated "he would never buy a Chrysler product" on a forum where most everyone owns a Chrysler product. He is disrespectful and obviously someone looking for trouble.
  17. So let me get this straight, you come on here to bash Chrysler, but you don't actually own one? If you have read anything on here, then you would know that there are lots of people that enjoy their Journey (myself included). Its great you have an opinion, everyone should. But why come here to express it in such a negative way? Could it be we have a troll amongst us?
  18. Welcome, hope you enjoy your Journey!!
  19. I choose Pennzoil Synthetic. I have always had good luck with it. I also researched this before my first oil change and I think there is another post on here about this if I am not mistaken. The new filter is design is awesome too BTW. A little costly for the filters but it saves a lot of time. Good Luck
  20. Nice pic, best looking wheels I have seen on a Journey so far.
  21. I hate when I purchase a new car only to find a scratch or dent after I get home. Its so easy to miss something when rushing through the sale. Good Luck!! P.S. I think this post wins the award for most smileys ever...
  22. Good luck with your R/T. And great choice by the way. I wanted an R/T but settled on the SXT only because we saved so much money by buying one of the last 2012's on the lot.
