  1. I have had this same problem for the past 1.5 years since around 30,000km, now at 50,000km. I have had to add over 3L of oil to my engine several times well before 5000Km. I am currently 2000km into an oil consumption test, and it burned 1.35L of oil so far. This seems excesive to me, but am told by the service department that it is within standards. I call BS. I am supposed to drive it 1500-2000km more before I bring it back for it's next check. I am told they need to establish proof of a problem before they can do anything more. Also, as I posted earlier today I am having my #2 piston replaced, as it was misfiring, and my radiator had a leak and was replaced. And an inner tie rod was worn and replaced, and a PCM update has been applied for rough transmission shifts. This car is nothing but problems.
  2. Update, after talking directly to the head mechanic at the dealership, they are replacing the #2 piston at no cost as the power train is still under warranty (also covered the $25 a day rental loaner vehicle). This makes me happy, and hope the problem is solved. However, with all the problems I have had, I am seriously considering trading it in at this time. I do not feel comfortable that I will be problem free in the future.
  3. Hi, I believe there have been numerous complaints on this forum for this topic, but I have a 2009 Dodge Journey with 50556KM on it. I have experienced violent shuddering at random times, usually when accelorating between 90 -100km/h. I have had the engine light come on and disappear, then on this past Sunday the engine light came on and and did not go away. I brought it to the dealer and they said it had a code that meant the #2 piston misfired. They checked the plugs/lines piston compression, and a few other things I can't remember, but they could not make it happen again, and sent me on my mary way. Last night the engine was shuddering again, very violently (no engine light though). I brought it back in today, and they mentioned a possible sensor malfunction (just a guess on their part at this time). So far they seem very reluctant to try and dig any further or suggest a root cause to the problem. I am getting very frustrated, as this car only has 55000km, and alreadi I have had to replace all rotars and pads, an inner tie rod, a software update for the transmission shifting hard, and had to replace the radiator.
