Trying to buy pads and rotors
hockey_puck replied to cousinles's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
And don't buy the cheapest crap! Spending money on better quality is worth it. Consider ceramic too if you hate cleaning wheels. H.P. -
where are you mounting radar detectors?
hockey_puck replied to crossroad's topic in Accessories, Modifications
In Manitoba, and all Provinces east of here radar detectors are illegal to have in your vehicle and the police will confiscate them. Even from tourists! So beware. They are legal in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Thus, a real popular model is the Beltronics STi-R Plus Remote Radar Detector. But it is pricey at about 1500 Can. Some police forces employ a radar detector, detector. That's a super sensitive machine that picks up the weak I.F. frequency of internal amps in cheap detectors. The pricey detectors shield their I.F. H.P. -
Looking for a North American source for an Interior sill plate (it covers the inside black plastic - see pic) I am not into having things shipped from China. If you run across this anywhere on this continent, let me know. Thanks

Front fender turn signals
hockey_puck posted a topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
In Australia and New Zealand, Dodge Journey's come with side fender turn signals. It's required. Would be different to add for here... Pic attached. -
Gasoline will take it off the glass. I once had a guy run over a purple spray can lying on the road beside me and it exploded spraying purple everywhere. The gas worked like a charm. Don't use the gas on fresh paint! One thing. No smokes while doing this...... H.P.

Here's something I ran into yesterday for all you to file in your brain matter. One learns something every day! Time to change over to the 3 season tires from the winter tires. Felt lazy so got the dealer to do it. As usual, expect the computer to recognize the different different set of TPMS sensors after a few km's of driving. Interestingly just before I saw the pressure numbers change on the EVIC, I got a "service TPMS" message on the Evic. THEN the numbers changed to reflect the different pressure i run in the Kumho's. That little light flashed on the dash and even after stopping and shopped, the message was there on restart. Ok. I figured that I'd have to return to dealer to get reset. No big deal. Then.... This morning I notices the error message "poof" gone. All is normal. I never realized the system EVIC could reset itself. And it is such a nice day out there too. Gone Mountainbiking! H.P.

Same thing happened to me and always seemed to be in front of my house. Took a while to figure out when I finally noticed one day it was my fault as I would just brush one of the buttons on the back of the steering wheel when turning the tight corner into the driveway. Done it a few times more and realized it was my big clumsy paws doing it. Didn't take much of a touch to do it either. H.P.

Washed the Journey yesterday before the weather turned nasty. This morning while it's bloody snowing outside (we're sending this on to Lobitz) I put the heat on in the garage and have waxed the entire beast, under the hood and door jambs too. Glad it will be a lot warmer next week. H.P.

Depending on how you have the front seats reclined and where set in their travel, I got about 74 inches. That was on the passenger side. It would be a bit less on the driver side for me as I like my seat back a bit further.

A Moosewash! True story. Driving on Hwy 6, B.C. Interior, will some Aussie friends, Deer jumps out on highway 50 yds away, but I hit the brakes hard in my old Caravan. Aussies ask why. Before I reply the second deer jumps out of the bush right in front of the Caravan and we missed by inches. Moral of story. See one, assume there are lots more coming..... H.P.

Ok, the old retired journalist in me has these probing questions now that you are back. 1. Just how much weight did you gain on one of those "all you can eat, 24 hours per day" cruises? 2. Did the number of DRL activation requests top 50, in your inbox, in this forum? 3. Will it take more than 12 hours to go through each thread on this site to "catch up" on what is going on? BTW. Washing a car when it is just below freezing isn't crazy. However, it is crazy to head to the car wash when it is -20F outside because you can spend all the time you want inside to dry it, as no one will be waiting for the space behind you. I plead guilty. P.S. Your neighbors will know you are crazy when they see you outside, happy as a clam washing and detailing when it is only 40F.

If that was your original, that is about the usual length of life. Cold is murder on batteries.

More than delighted to oblige! We love to share with the center of the Universe.

Wheeeeee, Mom Nature is doing a good number on us these days. -23C is the afternoon high today. (-10F conversion for Lobitz. He confuses easily) Boy do I like my heated seats now!! HP

http://www.car-part.com/ Be sure to select Quebec in the area pulldown. The standard 19 inch wheels for your Crew were/are used starting in 2011 right thru 2015. There are a number of them there.

We do it to drive you crazy. Short drive eh! H.P.

Rant away! We'll all listen. Some idiot almost tagged me Friday as he went through a stop sign at our local Superstore. To top it off it was an older black Journey. I gave him such a dirty look and yell that he apologized profusely. Idiot. Hope the weather improves so you can do a wash & polish. Since it got a bit colder here I headed over to my favourite car wash this morning as it opens at 6 am. There were 5 other crazies like me there too! It was slow so was able to dry it off completely. Put the garage heater on so I could clean the windows inside It's my mid winter therapy. LOL H.P.

Can't be official colour. They discontinued it for 2015.
-
Sure did! There is a reason too. The bloody idiot who cut the grooves for the imbedded road sensor to trigger that traffic light put it too far forward close to the crosswalk. One needs to pull forward to make the light change. Fortunately there is no sidewalk on that side of the street yet. So never any pedestrians.
