where are you mounting radar detectors?
Totemus replied to crossroad's topic in Accessories, Modifications
You get what you pay for. Radar under $100 is useless, imho. Good radars are very similar if not same. Passport or Valentine - it's a meter of your preference, rather than technology advantage. -

The best solution I found for my SmartRadar is a Stickycup (https://www.escortradar.com/store/stickycup.html) + Direct wire cord (https://www.escortradar.com/store/direct-wire-cord.html). I mounted the detector behind the rear view mirror and don't see it at all. It doesn't distract the view and stickycup is a monster - actually people complain it is too hard to remove it. -
No. By the time I got the fogs I've mastered my well covers removal skills I removed the wheel that allowed more space to work on fogs. Fogs themselves are on 3 nuts, easy to unscrew and fool-proofed (you can' install them in a wrong way). I consider myself a dummy-mechanic, and it took about 1 hour of careful and slow un- and then in-stallation Morimotos are top quality and fit as OEM. However, LEDs don't need ballasts, so you will need to remove your HID harness. The only thing they need is either harness adaptor or tapping into the stock harness. I tapped into the stock harness , but that's no harm as you will not need stock output anyway. Those LEDs are way better than HID in fogs: focused light output, work with stock harness and will not burn/me;t your fog lamps (my HOD bulbs melted the housing). Nothing complicated, just take your time and enjoy the result

Installing HID lights on your Journey (step by step)
Totemus replied to email4walker's topic in Accessories, Modifications
HID bulbs melted my fog lamps. I've had 35W Morimoto bubs and after about 4 months of use they started melting. Had to replace them with XB LEDs. -

Dunno...

Nobody offers flasher/tuner for DJs, it hasn't been cracked by majors due too low estimated demand. Diablosport said not on their radar, Interceptor delivers marginal improvement even on hi-octane.

He actually has the setup described in the thread. 2.5 inch 1-1 offse/offset. You can search flowmaster'a website for a part number as each series mufflers will have its own part number. They range from 44, which is very loud, to bearly different to stock. Their website is good and includes sound samples, enjoy. Dynomax is a good idea, but my research shows plenty of controversy around the brand. Many people complain about the rattling sound. Either the product is not developed enough or its too complicated for installation. Either way, I hesitate considering Dynomax.

That is a one fair question

Thanks for moving it. Its where I supposed the topic belongs but couldn't create the topic. Was your Dakota carb or injector powered?

Under the fear being beaten I'm starting this... Modernmuscleperformance.com offers ported throttle body that will fit 3.6L Pentastar, fitment to DJ confirmed by the manufacturer. https://www.modernmuscleperformance.com/product/36l-v6-pentastar-ported-throttle-body My research shows the PTB doesn't impact the HP (there are tons of never ending discussions if it does, but for this topic I assume it doesn't), but improves the throttle response. This is what I will interested in. I'm not looking for being faster on a quarter, but added fun of everyday driving is welcome. Has anybody here tried or knows who tried the PTB? Thanks PS I was not able to start a topic in the Engine section - the forum didn't allow me to. Maybe site security issue? :spiteful:

I don't know how to pop the shifter bezel There is somebody on the forum who plasti-dipped all silver parts and that looks nice as well. I'd like to know how to pop the bezel, though. As for the center console - I'm fine with flat black, just didn't like the silver parts :shades:
-
http://www.bitrim.com I eventually ended up with vinyl wrapping the silver parts:

Fantastic reply, thank you! I noticed, though, that I usually cruise at 2000 rpm.

That's what I'm concerned... I don't want my head blown with the noise in a long trip

To those who have installed the flowmaster: do you feel increase in the sound pressure inside the vehicle? Does it sound louder when you are inside? And another question: which type of the offset muffler is correct one for DJ? C/O, O/C or O/O? http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/?page_id=11139

Costaltech Unconnect AIR V2
Totemus replied to Antdog24's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
There is a switch, I tried it - didn't work for me. NOt that I'm very negative about the company - they were good to do business with and refunded in full. Just the product didn't work for me :tequila: -

Morimoto is the brand of theretrofitsource.com. I'm not linked to the company, just like their products. -
Costaltech Unconnect AIR V2
Totemus replied to Antdog24's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Nothing personal, but I tried Coastal Tech products twice. Both tries failed. The first one couldn't be installed as pins in male connectors were not aligned to females. The second try (on my current JOunrey) with this exact product - AIR V2 - failed to launch. Installed, switch on - nothing. So I personally of a low opinion of the quality from this company. Very promising and bright idea, but poor execution, unfortunately. -

Just installed new LED Morimoto fogs: They look amazing and very bright. Apparently, HIRs are not the only option now to upgrade your fogs
