My retrofitted headlights arrived
Totemus replied to Totemus's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
No, they are not from China. Those are professionally retrofitted OEM headlights. They mimic the OEM operation: I've had DRLs activated, so what you call a high beam is LED DRL now. They are no pt used for height beam as the projector provides both low and high beams. You can have DRL activated at dealership. I did it for my 2014. Depending on your relationship with the dealership they can charge you $0 to $100. But if you plug LED for DRL, you will have to insert resistors as well, as DRL is a height beam at lower power ( 6V). LEDs will not work if you just throw them in, you'll need some additional mods. Besides, you will lose high beam, because LEDs (non-projector LEDS from ebay) are not designed for high beam. The power output is amazing - it is 55w projector HID super power compared to stock halogen. -
My retrofitted lights have arrived finally. After long waiting and splitting with cash, I received my lights. I have them already installed in the vehicle. Wouldn't even try to describe how complicated the harness is and how complicated it was to install them. It is really busy under the hood now. It took 5 months from start to finish to get them done, wow... Here is the bench test video from the retrofitter:

Just my impression. TYC looks and feels almost the same as OEM. However, when I swapped for TYC to retrofit my headlights, 2 months later one of the lights became fogged. Not sure if the issue was with the bulb not carefully installed or smth else. Don't care as I got my OEM headlights back retrofitted and will be swapping for them next week

Thanks, B4ZINNGA and OhareFred! Will try to clean. Was not sure if the mirror will withstand more aggressive cleaning efforts, but will try

Have done that many times. Didn't help. Big Brother still watches me

Hi everybody. Just wondering if anybody has the same glitch as I do. When i have a car following me with the dip light on, I can see a bar code on my rear view mirror, right in the middle of the mirror. It doesn't show up when there is no light coming into the mirror, only when there is a car behind me with the lights on. Is it a defect and the mirror should be replaced or is it a feature? :shades:

I wonder how to feed the power to the rear fog lights. When I look underneath, see no power inputs available on my US SXT. I guess you have to tap into wiring to get the light.

HID fog light hell
Totemus replied to Darkpaw's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I have HID fogs, but those were put in by my installer, so I didn't check personally what bulb exactly he used, but he confirmed H16 fit without any modifications. Work nice for 3 months. -
So fresh and so clean.

My experience with the sill plates is not very good. Don't buy from China, like I did: they appeared to be not stainless still. After couple of months of use they became scratched and showed spots of stain... Besides, those applied to the inner side of the door well (to the plastic side) didn't hold well and I had to remove them. So be careful, and maybe go OEM.

Put new floor mats. TruBerber from lloyds. One little addition is the aluminum panel with the Dodge logo. This thing is absolutely amassing IMHO, the photos don't give enough credit to it. The mats match the textile interior, and are of a better quality then stock ones. More than happy with new mats!

Sorry to interfere the thread, but a quick question: did you remove the lower fascia to dip it? If yes, do I understand correctly that it can be removed without have the whole big fascia (aka bumper) to be removed, just that silver part? Thanks.

That's what I mean, not have been very clear. It has some power inputs, but not exposed and not available to tap into, like those in higher trims, where you actually have a power on/off button.
