Reset the "Oil Change Required" warning....HOW?
jkeaton replied to Xphyle's topic in Engine & Transmission
The procedure does work and it is the same for all years. Keep trying. Took me a couple times the first time I did it but now I got it down. -
Hill Start Assist in Uconnect
jkeaton replied to lynne's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Agree ^^. Do you have a manual transmission? -
It has been discussed before as being "completely normal", even by my dealer. You can take it in and have them "flash" the transmission module. That has not seemed to help though. Welcome to the forum.

Dang light went off by itself. Hopefully just some crappy gas or something.

LED Interior light issues
jkeaton replied to Usefu1_1diot's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I replaced all mine with regular LED's (read: non-canbus) and they work just fine. Not sure what your problem could be. Take them out and reseat maybe? -
I meant more is that what it looks like....

No argument. I could say the same thing about some cheap dealer parts as well that fail prematurely. Like the brake rotors on our first Journey....

I've never had issue with autozone, advance auto or o'reillys parts and I've used them extensively over the years.

2011 Interior fusebox locations
jkeaton replied to Derekmclain9's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
As stated earlier in this thread, check under the glovebox on the far right side behind the trim panel. -
Check a caravan forum. This forum is for Dodge Journeys. But maybe try a different "mechanic". That's such an old school term for technicians that actually know what they are doing.

Depends on if you have money to burn. Personally not me. I got other vehicles I'd rather dump money into. But please keep us informed.

The other day I was running some errands with the wife, this is her car, I only drive it maybe once or twice a week. We stopped by the carwash place to pick up the splash guards they got for us (one broke while using their carwash and they replaced the whole set for free). While I was sitting in the car, idling in park, waiting for her to come back, it started idling real rough. She got back in and I was like WTF is this. She stated it had been doing that for a week or so (thanks for telling me!!). I pulled out and it was running real sluggish and rough but then it cleared up and I didn't think anything else of it. The next morning she got in to go to work and the CEL came on right when she started it. Checked the code that evening. There is one dealer within 50 miles of me and they can't get us in until next Monday. I am parking it until then. If it is the cylinder head, I don't want to cause further damage. We have 6 vehicles, so we are not inconvenienced by not having it to drive.

Moved to the correct section. Welcome to the forum. A quick internet search for 2011 Dodge Journey power steering pump brings up several sites that sell them (U.S. of course). Only issue I know of is the hoses leaking in colder climate cars. There is a recall out for this.

Roughly 46,000.

Intake manifold runner control bank 1 stuck open
jkeaton replied to Dza07's topic in Engine & Transmission
If you look at the date of that post, 3 years ago and that member is no longer active. The fix is either the module or the intake itself. You can't repair the intake. It has to be replaced. -
I most certainly will!

You are in Florida. Probably won't get one. Mostly Canadian models. -
Yup. Off to the dealer tomorrow. Yay for extended warranties!
