Unfortunately the car is with you. All we can do is guess. You have to inspect it yourself. Post some pictures and tell us what you find then we can maybe help. -

Could be anything from the brakes dragging to bad CV joints. time to pull off the front wheels (and back) and inspect everything. -

Please add specifics of your vehicle. Engine, transmission, mileage, etc. I'm not sure I follow your choice of wording but if they say the transmission is damaged and requires replacement, there is not much we can do for you.

Yes, a normal OBD2 code reader can read OBD2 codes.

Don't know if she's talking about wheel studs or wheel spokes. At any rate, it is not a common issue and it had to have hit an object (curb, pothole, etc) pretty severely to break either one of those things. Need more info besides "this car has given us nothing but issues".
