  1. I think it all depends on whoever gets the tire contract. Our first DJ had uniroyals on it from the factory.
  2. Electrical gremlin. Disconnect the battery for a bit to see if it clears up. Welcome to the forum.
  3. Sometimes dealers just don't want to "deal" with it. Sad, I know. The sales code is added for the specific vehicle.
  4. There have been reports of the wires inside the wiring harness going through the liftgate getting chafed/broken. Might want to check that. Welcome to the forum.
  5. Here it is. http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/5796-adding-automatic-headlights/?hl=%2Bautomatic+%2Bheadlights
  6. There's a thread around here somewhere regarding this change. Iirc, you need the switch and the sensor on the dash. Can't remember if you need to get the dealer involved to enable the feature once you get the hardware installed. Welcome to the forum.
  7. Here is what the part looks like that holds the t-stat. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-14-Dodge-Caliber-Journey-Patriot-1-8L-2-0L-2-4L-Thermostat-Housing-OEM-/311248168937?fits=Year%3A2009|Make%3ADodge|Model%3AJourney&hash=item4877d627e9:g:wdAAAOSwk5FUrfGv&vxp=mtr Item #3 is the t-stat. What is the issue causing the need for a thermostat replacement? Welcome to the forum.
  8. There are numerous threads in the section that will answer your questions. Need to search and read up.
  9. I've not had issues with aftermarket gaskets. Just don't get a cheap one.
  10. No tuner available. Welcome to the forum.
  11. 2013 DJ The day we bought it: 43,000 miles later, oil changes, tires and front struts (plus a recall, flash and/or TSB or two) is all we've had to do to it: My 2005 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT, 73,000 miles: My 1995 Chevrolet K1500 Z71, 205,000 miles: My 2007 Ford Mustang, 112,000 miles (daughters): 2004 Hyundai Tiburon GT, 65,000 miles (sons): And last but not least, 1997 Ford Escort, 61,000 miles, the family beater car when no one wants to get theirs dirty: Between doing all my own maintenance, oil changes, tire rotations, detailing, etc, they keep me pretty busy....
  12. You hate Dodge because they did not try to upsell you? That's not Dodge's fault, that is the dealers fault. And probably 99% of consumers don't want to be upsold on anything. I do my research and know what I want and what to expect before I buy anything.

  14. As long as you follow the maintenance schedule provided by the manufacturer and you document it, the dealer has to honor any warranty repair. The manual states use the oil change indicator but do not exceed 10,000 miles.
  15. Not trying or wanting to start a debate but the last oil change I decided to let the car tell me when to change it instead of my normal 6000 mile/6 month interval. It just came on today. 7770 miles and 7 months after the last change.
  16. Bout the time ours will be ready for a trade in!
  17. 1. Empty the glove box. 2. Remove the glove box by pressing in on the tabs at the edges to allow the glove box to swing down out of the way. 3. Disengage the two retaining tabs (1) that secure the particulate air filter cover (2) to the passenger side of the HVAC housing (3) and remove the cover. 4. Remove the particulate air filter (1) from the HVAC housing (2) by pulling the filter element straight out of the housing. Installation is reverse of removal.
  18. You are absolutely right. Everything I've read to this point says Avenger until I stumbled upon a car gurus review which stated the Sebring, Avenger and Journey share the same platform. I had a 99 Sebring convertible which is what I was thinking of first before remembering the Sebring was made up until 2010. I miss that Sebring. I stand corrected. Sorry for the thread hijack, OP. Learn something new every day. : )
  19. Unfortunately not a huge aftermarket for performance or parts. Free up the intake and exhaust might give you a few ponies. Not enough to really feel though. There are aftermarket accessories out there to dress it up. Dash kits, chrome stick on pieces, etc. search on eBay and see what they have.
  20. Actually the Journey is based on architecture that underpinned the last-generation Chrysler 200 and former Dodge Avenger. The platform is sourced from Mitsubishi and shared with several of its models, including the Outlander crossovers and the Lancer.
  21. I just run them out and close the lid. I have not had a problem with the cables getting pinched or anything like that. I believe the lid does not rest on the edges, like there is a built in gap all the way around it just for that purpose. I have not looked closely to verify I just figured it was that way because even with the lid shut I can still move the wire.
  22. I found this on the Ohio DOT site: Use of studded tires or tire chains in Ohio is permitted between Nov. 1 and April 15 or times of extreme weather conditions. Extreme weather refers to the presence of snow and/or ice on the roadway. And this from the owners manual: Traction devices must be of proper size for the tire, as recommended by the tire chain manufacturer. Install on front tires only. Due to limited clearance, P225/65R17 tire with a Security Chain Company (SCC) Super Z6 low profile tire chain or equivalent is recommended. http://www.peerlesschain.com/brands/traction/traction-product-choices/super-z6-tire-chains/
