  1. Thanks!! All I can say is Hawaii is not on my bucket list. I prefer the Caribbean: Cancun, Cozumel, etc. Have a safe trip home!
  2. Forum Rules: Dodge Journey Forum membership is diverse, covering people from various countries, backgrounds, ages and experiences. Considering this diversity and to make Dodge Journey Forum enjoyable for the majority of our membership, we have adopted the following simple posting guidelines. 1. Vulgar, offensive and/or inappropriate language, images and other offensive material including, but not limited to, race, nudity or pornography is not tolerated here. The Dodge Journey Forum staff shall be the sole judges of what does and what does not violate the boards standards. 2. While debating and discussion is fine, respect your fellow enthusiasts. Being of a diverse background, members are likely to express different opinions, and while opinions may differ from yours, they are just that, opinions; and everyone is entitled to express theirs freely. We will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, or personal attacks. Do not flame, bother, bug, disrespect, hound or taunt ANYONE on the forums or through private messaging or chat room. If we feel a thread is getting out of hand we will close or delete it. You can/will lose your posting privileges if you continue this type of behavior. 3. "Trolls or Trolling", "Flames" and/or "Board Wars" are not tolerated here or elsewhere. Posts that taunt or are otherwise inflammatory against other sites will be removed. Also, anyone found to be making inflammatory posts and remarks on other forums (starting Flame/Board Wars) can and will loose their posting privileges here. This rule also applies to those that, for whatever reason, feel a need to post negative remarks about this site on other forums. If you do, don't expect to be welcome here. 4. Double posting is not allowed and can result in the deletion of one or both posts. Double posting is defined as posting the same information in two or more separate forums. We understand that some topics might fit into more than one forum. Please try to pick the best one. In addition, please do not post in the same thread back to back (another version of double posting), if you have something more to add, edit your post, don't post twice in a row in a thread. 5. Selling or solicitation of ANYTHING in the general forum, by Private Message or in Chat is considered Spam and is not allowed. Anyone found posting excessive links to their websites, or suspected of "sneaky" advertising will be warned and will possibly lose their posting privileges. Please post your private party ads in the Dodge Journey Classifieds forum sections. If you are a business and have a product or service that would be of interest to our members, PM an admin to learn how you can join our team and help support our community. 6. Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short), "smiley" only, non-sense posts, memes and such. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count ("post whoring") is frowned upon. If you do engage in this type of activity, we can prevent your post count from increasing from that point forward or possibly ban your account. 7. No promotions of other related sites. Referring to other related sites is considered "SPAM" and is not allowed. Please have the decency of NOT putting links to them in your signature, profile or have a post, PM or Chat telling our members to come over to another related site. Such activity is ground for removal from signature, and repeated offenses are grounds for being banned. 8. You are not allowed to post links that lead to an affiliate program or that in any way earn you something. We consider you earning something if you have an affiliate ID, website, or if you earn money from banner impressions or click-thru's. If you feel that you have a service or product that the members of Dodge Journey Forum can benefit from notify the Administrator. 9. Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed and can quite possibly result in both accounts being removed without notice. 10. Illegal transactions/sites, selling of personal information (i.e. credit cards, e-mail addresses), pornography, etc are not allowed in the forums and will result in the deletion of the post and the revocation of your posting privileges. 11. Don't post "Hey BigJoe1456"as a thread, if you need to speak to someone specifically, PM or email them. 12. Use proper terms, spelling and grammar. It's easy to post from a phone, but please read what you are about to oust before posting. If you can take the time to compose a coherent post, we are not going to take the time to attempt interpretation. 13. While these rules cover most common situations, we cannot anticipate everything. Therefore, we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure our site is not disrupted or abused in any way. 14. Signature images must be limited to 500 WIDE by 250 TALL at the MAX. 15. Moderators and Administrators have final word in anything and everything. If you have a problem or a complaint direct it to them, not to the general forums. They will then take the appropriate actions. This applies to issues with the forum in general, as well as issues with other members. 16. We ask that members keep in mind membership is a privilege, NOT a right, and as a private forum, the administration and moderators have total say as to which members are, and are not allowed. The same rule applies for single posts and threads, and anything deemed to be inappropriate by any member of the staff will be removed. Members who continue to ignore this rule will be removed with no possibility of return.
  3. Can we lock this thread? Opinions abound. Everyone has their own. It's pointless to argue about who thinks what sounds better.
  4. What is the actual code? Pull the plug and inspect. Mileage? Engine size? Last tune up?
  5. Welcome to the forum. We can help you out with your problems. Please start a separate thread in the correct section if you have a specific problem.
  6. Moved to the correct section. The forum help and suggestions section in which you posted in is for reporting forum issues, not vehicle specific technical issues. The code is a big deal unless you have verified your oil level. There have been a few instances of a faulty oil pressure switch causing this code. Get yourself a code reader so you don't have to wait to bring it to the dealer to have the code read, or take it by a parts store. It's most likely a faulty sensor, but at least make sure you have the oil at the proper level before driving. Is the dealer going to fix I? Did you ask them if it was a big deal to drive it for 4 days with the code on? It is also helpful to the group if you state the year, engine and mileage of the vehicle.
  7. They only work if you have other complementary mods. Getting more air into the engine does nothing if it has no where else to go. An engine is nothing more than an air pump. Yes, race cars use them but they also have head work and exhaust modifications to make use of more air. On a stock engine with a stock exhaust, nope. You are just buying into the hype. Now, if you were to install a true cold air intake (which gets the intake out of the engine compartment), bigger throttle body, bigger intake and exhaust valves, bigger pistons and a free flowing exhaust, yes, it would compliment that engine nicely. On a stock engine these days, the computer will negate any added air going into the engine. Believe what you want. It's all personal choice.
  8. TSB for this. Strut bushings as stated. Do some searching. There are existing threads on the subject.
  9. Thanks for joining our forum to share your experience. Hope you have better luck with whatever you buy next.
  10. Yes, been discussed in depth already here >>http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/8217-new-safety-recall-recieved-in-mail-yesterday/?hl=recall Please use the search function first before asking questions.
  11. Welcome. Yes, do some searching around. Plenty of info here in both topics. Post any technical questions you may have in the appropriate section.
  12. It would be nice but not practical for most.
  13. Another fuel mileage thread or lock this one down? The title has nothing to do with the content. My OCD is acting up.
  14. They do not offer one for the Dodge Journey. The 3.6 yes. But only for Charger, Challenger, Durango, Ram, 300 and Jeeps. Not the Journey.http://www.rippmods.com/products/
  15. Welcome to the forum. You should have started your own topic instead of resurrecting a 4 year old thread..lol
  16. Most all cars depreciate like a rock. But you are correct. I never buy new. Our 2013 SXT with less than 9000 miles on it we got for less than $19k.
  17. That is not a recommended service this early if at all. Depending on year and mileage. Dealers always try to upsell non recommended services. Check your owners manual. If it is not listed as a recommended service by the manufacturer then it will not void your warranty if you say no. Dealers are out to make money off unsuspecting people. Do not fall for it. Educate yourself on what the manufacturer requires as far as maintenance goes per the owners manual.
  18. Too old for tropical drinks??
  19. I never saw a difference. Hard or soft cover. Maybe if I drive in a straight line for 500 miles at a constant speed, but who's got time for that. Lol. We shall agree to disagree. Again, that's like the cold air intake/IAT resister trick. It's all a matter of the butt Dyno and none of those are ever calibrated the same. At any rate, I'm not going to stick a bunch of satellite antenna looking things all over the back of my car hoping they will pay for themselves in 500,000 miles. Lol
  20. Negative ghost rider. Myth busters busted that myth. Plus my own real world driving. Does not help one bit.
  21. Good job. Always check fuses first. Saves a bunch of heartache waiting for someone to suggest it. Question is, why did it blow? It's likely to blow again, so start doing some troubleshooting. Pull the bulbs and check for corrosion in the terminals. Check for pinched wires. If the bulbs are original, I'd go ahead and replace them. I've had bulbs before that looked fine and worked fine but were old and used excessive current, resulting in blown fuses.
