Very noisy when driving through puddles or snow
jkeaton replied to ladybug's topic in Exterior & Body
They are indeed very thin wheel well liners. Blame it on cost and weight savings. I tend not to dwell on it. -
Charging system / electrical problems
jkeaton replied to Lisa Brown's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
If we had the admins and others mods active maybe one of them could. I can only hide posts and move complete threads. Can't move posts to new threads. Not in my limited list of actions I can perform.- 18 replies

Charging system / electrical problems
jkeaton replied to Lisa Brown's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Please start your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's. Makes answering questions hard because no one knows who's answering who's questions.Folks, please limit responses to the OP's (Lisa Brown) issue. We get too many side conversations going on and it can be frustrating to the OP.- 18 replies

Ok. You have this thread going. Please limit your posting about this issue to this thread. No need to ask the same question in multiple threads. Makes it hard to keep track of your issue.

Interesting. I've had 3 sets now that the tabs are incorrect even though the bulb number is the same.

Fog lights need modification. I know it's been said that tabs need to be trimmed so I thought I'd put some pics up. All the aftermarket bulbs I have bought for the fogs have needed to have the tabs completely removed. There are three. Two on one side and one on the other. On the aftermarket bulbs I have purchased, the two tabs on one side are set farther apart than the stock bulbs and the one on the other side is in the wrong position. So I shaved all the tabs off. Even then, it takes some wiggling and force to get them in. Here's some pice showing the stock bulb and the aftermarket after I shaved off the tabs.

check engine light on, random codes stored
jkeaton replied to jimmyk's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
You need to get the code read and post the result. Most auto parts will read codes for free if you don't have a code reader. -
Always fill mine with half a quart more than called for. Keeps the crankcase pressurized so it won't suck in outside pollutants which could sludge the engine over time.

Can your dealer help?
-
Personally I've checked mine cold, warm and hot. Never noticed any significant difference that would cause me to change the way I check mine. It's not like a transmission. Never broken one either.

It's normal. Been discussed numerous times.

X10. I'll trade you my alloy wheels for your chrome ones if you don't like them. I think the chrome looks great!

Yes. More info. When you are sitting in it? When you are moving it? While driving or sitting still? Apparently they did something so you should take it back and demonstrate the issue

He might be in Canada. I think warranties are different there.

jkeaton replied to tyeayo's topic in Recalls & Technical Service Bulletins
People get scared out of their minds when a recall notice shows up in their mailbox. -
Can't Unlock Maps
jkeaton replied to lanc747's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I just use my phone. You couldn't pay me to get a factory installed nav unit. Good luck with your next vehicle! -
Will move to the correct section. What year? What entertainment system? Have you checked for blown fuses? Please read this thread so you have a better understanding of some requirements to help us help you. http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/6960-please-read-before-posting-dos-and-donts-of-dodge-journey-forum/

Checked the level? How many miles? Did it just start?

You would maybe have to have the sensor calibrated by the dealer. The airbag light could come on once you unplug the sensor. I know it does in Dakotas

12 volt power fuse keeps blowing
jkeaton replied to bobcat98092's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Definitely what you are plugging in. If the fuse keeps blowing whenever you plug whatever it is you are plugging in, it's what you are plugging in. Fix that and stop blowing fuses. -
