  1. Yes, every state has big cities that have bad areas. The south is not immune either. I lived in western Md. Very pretty country. Mostly farming when we lived there. It was just my 30 mile commute to Arlington, VA. every day, that was a killer commute. Sometimes took as long as 2-1/2 to 3 hours to get home in the afternoon. Had to get away from that rat race. Only went to Baltimore a couple of times, inner harbor has some really good seafood restaurants.
  2. We took our 09 4 cylinder on a trip to the beach a few years ago. 5 people insode, loaded with luggage in the luggage area and a roof top carrier. Thwe car took it all in stride and amnaged about 20 mpg. Like stated, you just gotta realize it takes a littele bit longer to get going. But once you are cruising in the power band, its a very capable engine despite pulling around all that weight. That being said, not that I have the 3.6, I'll never go back to the 4 cylinder,,,,lol
  3. Lord I lived in Md for about 10 years. One thing that is almost impossible to do is register a car from another state. The inspection laws are ridiculouosly rigid. (they were then anyway). I understand once it is inspected, you dont have to have them done again, but geesh what a racket. They ALWAYS find something to adjust or needs to be fixed (headliight aiming was something they always got you on). I had a car fail because my speedometer wiggled a little bit when it got to 55 mph.
  4. What is the oil change interval?
  5. Every year in NC. Based on the month the car is registered. Here they tie property tax into the renewal. So, if you don't pay your property taxes, you can't renew your license. The actual costs vary depending on the appraised value of the car, truck, RV, etc. For the DJ, the firt year we bought it, it was over $300 (U.S.) to get the car renewed, my truck, on the other hand, costs about $50 to renew because it's old and not worth much.

I can't either. You can pm the admin (Robert Lane) and see if he can help.
  7. Online. The only reason I ever go to the DMV is for my drivers license renewal or when I buy a used car from a private seller and I have to get new tags/title/registration. Never a pleasant experience.
  8. Try another dealer. Take them on a test drive with you and show them. Force the issue. ABS does not kick in unless there is wheel slippage or skidding detected.
  9. There are quite a few existing threads on here if you search.
  10. Wheels....not rims.....
  11. $10000 for a new engine?? Definitely get a second opinion. What year, what engine? Must have been a pretty freakin big puddle if, in fact, you sucked water into the intake and hydrolocked the engine.
  12. I have used them in the past on other vehicles. Yes, they do save a bit of time and one less tool to use (socket wrench). But you still have to crawl up under the vehicle to change the filter and open the valve. I found the cost did not justify saving a couple minutes it takes to remove the drain plug with a wrench. Ok, you might also save yourself from getting oil on your hands or wrench, too.
  13. What is the reasoning behind the repeated battery replacements? No one on here that I am aware of "has this problem". I certainly don't.
  14. Yeah. I was just going t o say that, if he had a V6 and had to remove the intake and all, there's a high likely hood something got disconnected. If it's a 4 cylinder, then that would not be that much of an issue, but at any rate, yes, agree with the above. Disconnect the battery for a bit to reset everything. Will it start or not?
  15. Please refert o this thread. No need for multiple threads on the same subject. http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/7083-help-need-to-lower-my-2015-journey/page-2#entry50500
  16. Actually the tire manufacturer (in this case Kuhmo) makes the tires specifically for the vehicle and they make it in a very soft compound, It may be the same model tire you and I can buy from a store, but they make them different for the manufacturer. That way, when you go on a test drive, you think, "wow, what a smooth ride".
  17. Could be a caliper sticking. Pull the wheel off and spin it around to pinpoint bearing or brakes.
  18. This is true. I guess I have it good that the Oreillys I use is run by a bunch of gear heads that actually work on cars and know what they are doing.
  19. This^^, it assists the HVAC system in keeping humidity levels low in the cabin. This is why sometimes the AC compressor will run even though you are not in the AC or defrost mode.
