If you do go for the 09, make sure the door wiring recall has been done, and prepare yourself to have warped rotors, unless to previous owner upgraded them from factory already.
Yes that was on my Dakota about 6 years ago. Worked out great for me on the Dak. I had one set of underdash come on and off woth the dome lights, another dimmer set that came on with the headlights for a nice soft glow in the footwells at night.
Oops. I mean SOME Service managers. My apologies to you Journeyman425. I wish there were more like you. The ones around me are no better than salesmen.
I think they should knock it down to about 3 hunnit fity dollas. But what do I know. What you think and what is reality are usually two different things. Can't hurt to ask though. Good luck!
Our 09 was very dependable. But it was the first year of production. Certainly the later years added more features and refinements that make the 09 seem archaic by comparison. I'd go for the 2012. Remember the 09 had those horrid brakes. Plus the door wiring issue (recall).
Fronts just press in like normal. Since I do my own brakes and I have 5 vehicles, I purchased a brake tool set off amazon for like $60. It has all adapters necessary to do brakes on just about every car out there.
I think he's talking about lights underneath the door that come on and illuminate the ground around the door area. Not the lights that shine into the door storage pocket. I have those too.
Usually the dome light wires run up the a-pillar. Not sure which wires or what side. Probably have to pull the trim pieces off to find them first, then backprobe the wires to find the correct ones. Hopefully someone will post a link to the FSM for the Journey someday that has wiring diagrams. I can't seem to find one anywhere.
