Will not fit 7 passenger with the rear seat backs upright. May fit if the seats are down.

I check all mine about once a month. I'm a gear head, so I like looking at engines, so, I open hoods quite frequently. I got 5 vehicles. I'm always doing something or another with them. Having a 3 car garage helps.

Maybe it has a shift kit and sure, go on and trade it in on something that costs twice as much. Maybe you'll be happier.

Intermittent issues are hard to diagnose. I don't take my vehicle in for service for something unless I can duplicate the problem.

Was it "floaty" before the repairs? Did the alignment fix it? As stated, who knows what happened before you bought it. You got all new parts covered under warranty. Do you have proof the prior owners were "an elderly couple"? Dealerships will tell you anything. Anyway, you should be good to go now.

Welcome to the forum. My guess would be even if all the necessary hardware and wiring are there to install, he dealer would still need to program the system to operate.

If there is not an obvious obstruction, I would say take it to the dealer.

Good thing to compare with something else before blaming the Journey!! Poor car gets a bad rap sometimes through no fault of her own.......

I'd take it back and have a service advisor go on a ride with you so you can show him/her the problem.
