  1. No, just stated in the build sheet.
  2. I do not know why they dont badge them differently. Ours just has SXT badges. Didn't know about the "Hero" thing until I got my build sheet. Must be some deep dark corporate secret...
  3. ^^ This. It's your car, if you want ot bypass safety systems, that is up to you. I imagine there might be warranty issues though, if you have a newer model still under warranty and possible insurance issues. Hopefully you have an earlier model without the active headrests, otherwise, I'd return what you bought and get the kind that strap on as suggested above.
  4. SXT = Hero. No difference. "The new Dodge brand lifestyle models are aimed at consumers who want the most out of life rather than models that indicate only how much they were able to afford with the previous good, better and best lineup,” a Chrysler spokesman said via email about the name changes. “They are also intended to convey our new attitude.” Srarting with the 2010 Dodge Journey: There are more variations now available in terms of packages, which bundle options together. Currently, you can get an SE for $20,490, and the next step up to the SXT jumps to $23,790. The new variations have added three trims that fall between what was the SE and SXT. Formerly SE, SXT, R/T Now Dodge Journey (no trim level designation) $20,320 17-inch aluminum wheels, cruise control, sunscreen glass, body-colored mirrors, floormats and passenger grab handles. Dodge Journey Express $21,320 Adds a two-person third row for seven-passenger seating Dodge Journey Hero $22,320 Adds 235 hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine with dual exhausts paired with a six-speed transmission Dodge Journey Hero with AWD $23,320 Adds all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels Dodge Journey Heat $24,320 Adds Uconnect phone, iPod control, Sirius Satellite Radio, auto-dimming rearview mirror, remote start, trip computer, HomeLink universal transceiver, tonneau cover, six premium speakers with subwoofer, a tri-folding cargo floor with additional storage space beneath, 19-inch aluminum wheels and large chromed-tip dual exhausts Dodge Journey Crew $25,320 Adds third row for seven-passenger seating, automatic climate control, premium gauge cluster, rear DVD entertainment system, 19-inch painted machined wheels, body-colored side sills and chrome interior accents, roof rack and door handles, Dodge Journey Uptown $29,320 Adds leather-trimmed seven-passenger seating, power sunroof, navigation system with 30GB hard drive and real-time traffic, backup camera, rear DVD entertainment system, 19-inch chrome wheels and chrome bodyside molding
  5. You can use this link to request a build sheet as well. http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/emailpage.html?appStr=wccs&titleStr=Contact+Dodge&familyStr=brand&franchise=D&actionURL=%2Fwccs%2Fbrand_forms%2Fus%2Fwebform.jsp&promotion=null&category=U In the area that says "Briefly describe" put "Vehicle Build Sheet". If you want to elaborate a little more as to why you want your build sheet, use the additional information area. Welcome to the forum!
  6. Sometimes things break. The joy of automobile ownership.
  7. I see nothing wrong with it. Sometimes all you can do is say "I feel your pain".
  8. Holy craaaap!! How in the world could someone have that much time to strip a vehicle???? Plus they left all the high dollar parts.....That would cool to stick a DJ body on though. They want $18,000 for that?
  9. Do not know. There are 6 different transmissions that have been used since 2009 according to Wikipedia. 4-speed Ultradrive 41TE automatic 5-speed Magna T355 manual 6-speed Aisin BG6 manual 6-speed Fiat C635 manual 6-speed Getrag Mps6 DCT automatic 6-speed Ultradrive 62TE automatic I would assume you would have to use the exact same one. As far as the engine goes, I cant imagine a hemi would be interchangeable with a V6. But, with enough money, anything is possible. You wanting to hemi your DJ???
  10. Been about a year since we purchased our beloved 2013 DJ SXT. Bought it used at Carmax, had just shy of 9,000 miles and we got it for less than $18,000. Balance of factory warranty (of course) and also purchased an extended 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty (bumper to bumper). She now has 24,500 miles on her. I've done 2 oil changes, full synthetic, Wix extended mileage filter (due for another, I dont wait for the indicator, every 5000 miles is all I'm comfortable with, getting ready to do another this weekend). I just rotated the tires again. Brakes still have tons of life (over 3/8" on all, cudos to Chrysler or Fiat for addressing the brake issue). We have taken her on a trip to Chicago last spring (1500 miles round trip) and to Florida this past summer (1200 mile round trip) and I must say, she took it all i stride. Averaging 25-26 mpg. Not great, but she was fully loaded with 4-5 passengers each time. Never missed a beat. Comfortable, smooth, etc. The DJ is my wifes daily driver. If there was something wrong, she would tell me, you know how that goes...... : ) Have made one dealer visit, just before the Chicago trip, to make sure everything was A-OK. They did a couple of software updates and that has been the extent of dealer interaction (we have a great dealer here, always take care of us). Pros: Comfortable both to drive and to ride. Love the reclining second row seats and the ability to control my own HVAC when in the front. (separate driver/passenger settings) Style. Everywhere we go, people we interact with comment on how pretty she is, how much room is inside, etc. Power. Enough for me in stock form. Gets up and goes when I want her to. No problem merging, overtaking grandma on that one stretch of two lane road when we get stuck behind her, or powering past a semi on the interstate when doing 70 and you just want to get past. Brakes!!! After replacing the rotors and pads on our 09 twice before 20,000 miles, it is so nice to have them work like they are supposed to and last longer. Tires. Stock Kuhmos still have plenty of life. I keep the pressures checked and rotate every 5000 miles. No problems at all, even in the snow we had last winter (not much by Canadian standards, but plenty for around here). I just know what the limitations are and I drive according to the conditions, never had a problem. HVAC: Works good. No problems with front or rear systems. Audio: No problems to report. Love the bass from the stock system. Have no plans to upgrade anything. It sounds great as is. No problems with starting, running or turning off. FOB's work fine. Love being able to just pull on the door handle without having to push any buttons to gain entry. DRL's: Turned them on using the touch screen. No problems. Lighting: Upgraded all interior to LED's. No problem using normal LED (CANBUS not required). Headlights and fogs plenty bright enough for me. Am not considering upgrading to HID's like I did with the 09 (which had horrid headlights) Cons: Transmission is still clunky. Upshifts too soon for my style. Shudders on downshifts sometimes. Clanks now and then. I've done some research on these issues and I'm not too concerned. I just accept it and drive on. If something does go wrong, we have a warranty, and a free rental (made sure of that upon purchase and have it in writing). Drivers seat back right side will sometimes move if I shift my position. Kinda like one side "clicks" back and the other side stays put. Keeping an eye on this as it might turn out to be a mechanical issue with the ratcheting system for the seat back. (warranty issue if it gets too bad). Oil filters: Too dang expensive. Don't know why they figure doing away with an actual metal filter and only have a paper one will end up costing more money...lol. Washing: So many crevices and nooks/crannies. Makes washing her almost twice as long as washing my Eclipse. Brake dust!! Can't wait till the OEM pad wear out so I can replace with ceramic. The car will remain in pristine clean condition but the wheels get dirty so fast!!! Bugs the crap out of me. No roof rack cross bars. Why in the world they would do that is beyond me. I should have snagged them off the 09 when we traded it in. As you can see, I dont have many complaints at all. I can live with each and every one because the pros far outweigh the cons. And the cons are more cosmetic (aside from the transmission or drivers seat). In heartbeat, I would buy another. I am currently looking for another DD for myself, and am solely looking at Chrysler products. I had a 1999 Sebring convertible last year that leaked oil something awful (common problem on the 2.7L V6), so I sold it and bought a 2005 Eclipse spyder convertible (still Chrysler made for the most part). I'm now looking at a newer Sebring, 200 or PT Cruiser convertible (love convertibles). Anyhoo,,,,happy motoring my DJ friends. Though I'd bring you up to date. Cheers!
  11. Yes, use the search function. Lots of threads. http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/5574-fog-lights-before-and-after-leds/?hl=%2Blight+%2Bbulbs#entry36209
  12. Rear end seals are a pretty good thing........ Gotta love how you can interpret things here....
  13. Whats that got to do with chroming??
  14. Usually those features are found on more upscale (read: more expensive) vehicles. I've not become complacent enough to absolutely have to have the mirrors and seats move by themselves for me. Remember there was a day when power windows and air conditioning were options......
  15. As stated, the DRL's are the high beam lights on reduced voltage. Turn your headlights and flick the high beams on, the ones that are on when the high beams are on are the DRL's. They only operate in drive, when the headlight switch is in the off position.
  16. Year? Mileage? Removed the wheels yet to see if anything obvious? CV joints make a ticking/clicking noise when going bad, but that is usually on high mileage.
  17. Yes. http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/5818-removed-rear-resonators/?hl=exhaust#entry38322 Moved to the correct section. Welcome to the forum.
  18. I've owned numerous Chrysler/Dodge products over the years as well as other manufacturers both foreign and domestic. From my experience, Chrysler products have been no better/no worse from a maintenance or problem/issue/reliability standpoint. I fully understand no vehicle is perfect and accept that every vehicle will have some flaw or component failure somewhere, sometime. The Journey did change my opinion about that particular segment as there is NOTHING else out there that compares to the features, style, engine, performance, etc in a similar price range. There is more bang for the buck in the DJ than any other similar 7 person CUV/SUV out there. This is our second Journey, and I've said this before, it won't be the last. The first vehicle I ever owned was a Dodge (1969 Charger), and I plan on making a Dodge the last vehicle I ever own as well. Agree with bigstr: MOPAR or NO CAR!
  19. Code P0406 is "EGR SENSOR A CIRCUIT HIGH" , Code C121C is "TORQUE REQUEST SIGNAL DENIED". Could be a PCM problem or other electricall gremlin. I have not heard of these on the DJ, so I would think the dealer would be the best bet. Good luck and post back the results.
