  1. There is already a thread on this here >> http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/5366-journey-crossroad-trim-line-launching-for-2014/ and here >> http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/5365-new-journey-crossroad-announced/
  2. I dont know if you can do the key dance to retrieve codes on these cars. A CEL light on could mean anything, but I've never heard of "oxygen in the gas". Normally it is a faulty sensor somewhere. Get yourself a scanner so you can read/clear codes yourself. They are cheap.
  3. I too am in the happy camper camp. We are on our second DJ. I would recommend it to anyone. Best features for the price out there. Go with the 3.6 as this is the newest engine. I think they started putting the bigger brakes in 2011. My suggestion is to go drive one. Like winfgit11 says, every manufacturer makes a lemon every now and then. Most common compaint I hear is the AWD system gives some people fits. I dont need the extra weight, cost and maintenance of an AWD system, so we stuck with FWD. Also some report issues with the electronics in really cold temps. It does great in the snows we get around here. I recopmmend the Journey. Its a great car.
  4. Wow, thats great. They must have made some changes between the 09 and 13 engines cause we NEVER saw that kind of mileage.
  5. Cold weather noises are normal. People dont like to hear that but it is true.
  6. You can request your build sheet using this link. It will tell you everything about your vehicle. http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/emailpage.html?appStr=wccs&titleStr=Contact+Dodge&familyStr=brand&franchise=D&actionURL=%2Fwccs%2Fbrand_forms%2Fus%2Fwebform.jsp&promotion=null&category=U Fill out all the required information. Then in the area that says "Briefly describe" put "Vehicle Build Sheet" . If you want to elaborate a little more as to why you want your build sheet, use the additional information area. Search the internet for tire dealers in your area and call them to find out if they have tires your size in stock.
  7. Sorry but we get the same or better with the V6 than we did with the 4. That 4 is just too undersized for this big of a vehicle. Even on trips we would barely crack 22 mpg. We are getting 19 around town, up0 to 26 on trips with the V6.
  8. Welcome to the forum. Brakes will be your biggest issue as they were undersized on the 09's and the rotors warp easy. When the time comes, replace them with some good aftermarket rotors. Dont let the dealer put the same crappy rotors back on.
  9. Welcome to the forum. Our 09 was a decent vehicle. How many miles on yours? Biggest thing on the 09 are the brakes being undersized. When/if you do have to replace them, go with quality aftermarket rotors/pads.
  10. I'm running Kumho's on my Mustang, Sebring and the Journey, also had them on my Z28. Never had a complaint. I am somewhat fanatical about checking tire pressure and rotating. Have an app on my phone that reminds me. Rotations every 5k. Tire pressure once a month. I've got 5 vehicles and I do them all myself. Rotations take me about 20o mins. Having multiple floor jacks and an indoor heated/cooled garage helps.....
  11. Do you have any pics of the mounts, what they look like, how they install?
  12. Welcome to the forum Byron. Make youself a new thread in the Welcome section to introduce yourself.
  13. Understand that the tires that came with your car were not designed by Kumho. They were designed by Chrysler. If your new car came with a set of Kumho's, Kumho made the tire but they made it to the specifications set by Chrysler. The OEM tires that came with your car can’t be replaced (which is a good thing) after they’ve worn out. And they will wear out much sooner than they should. This is because virtually all auto manufacturers specify very soft rubber which means they wear out too fast. You can buy what you think is the same tire, but it will have a different model number when sold by a tire store. Auto manufacturers do this because they want that new car to have the smoothest ride possible, even at your expense of having to buy a new set of tires at half the mileage you should have to. When you test drive that brand new car and it rides very, very smoothly you’re more likely to buy it. You’ll find out how fast the tires wear out much later, and when you do you’ll blame it on the tire maker. Don't blame the tire maker, blame the vehicle manufacturer.
  14. Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase. First thing I do on a car is put on blind spot mirrors. Driver and passenger. Any auto parts store sells them, along with wallyworld and other places. They attach with double sided foam tape. I put them in the center of the outside edge. It's all personal preference. You will get used to using them wherever you put them.
  15. lol...I agree. We have the smaller touchscreen w/o uconnect, but the start up screen still gives warnings about using it. IMO, uconnect has a long way to go to match the ford mysync thing.
  16. Journey_SeXT nailed it. If you want good rotors/pads, get the "premium" line of raybestos, wagner, etc. Brake performance has good stuff too. Dont get slotted/drilled, those are a waste of money unless you're into rally cross or something.
  17. I think everything is overpriced in Canada....having never been there, I was quite surprised at the prices for normal things like beer and such....I think it was like $12 US for a 6 pack of budlight. where it's like $6-7 here. Even things like Mcdonalds (I know, should have gone to Tim Hortons instead)...almost twice as much as here.
  18. 1 MPG difference between the 4 and 6 cylinder??? I wish I could get one of those grills.....
  19. I have a convertible as well. Love it! How much top down time do you get being way up in the great white north??
  20. Probably the most accurate statement I have read in a long time concerning these cars. Let the car do its thing. I wonder how many less complaints there would be if everyone adopted this attitude.
  21. My point was too him who said he was giving up on Dodge because of his ONE bad one. I would not go as far as to say "full of unhappy customers and crappy Journeys"...no more than any other automotive forum I belong to. There are good stories and bad. Some people make the bad worse with crappy dealer experiences, but that goes across all manufacturer lines as well.
  22. It is not a safety related issue so no recall. Class action suits against big corporations are a waste of time and resources. Lawyers get rich, thats about it.
  23. 14,000 miles, (@22530 km) We had 80,000 miles on our 09 when we traded it in last November (@129,000 km) and the only issues with it were the crappy factory brakes (which I upgraded and never had any more issues), alternator, door wiring recall and an intake runner valve. Pretty dependable vehicle for almost 5 years.
  24. Since the original post was erased, I dont think we will ever know.
