Winter blend fuel kills mileage. No matter the vehicle.

Leather cover for fob
jkeaton replied to kboy00's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Key Fobs, Locks & Remote Start
I've not seen one. Best to start googling. -
Nope. I would treat it like a missed phone call...if it's important, it will come back.

Old thread. Not sure the OP is still on here.

Location of oil filter on 2009 2.0 diesel Dodge Journey
jkeaton replied to Kiteboarder666's topic in Engine & Transmission
This has been asked before with no answer. No diesels here in the US. Hopefully someone from across the pond will chime in. Do you not have a owners manual? Can you call your locsall dealer and ask? I did find a pic of the oil filter housing here >> http://www.mopar.com/part/68103969AA?s=353095&i=2234199&b=dodge Might just have to pull the plastic engine cover off and start looking. It is an internal filter accessible by a cap somewhere. -
Either that or they want someone to do it for them. Or they dont like the answers they get.

Check engine light on-no odometer code
jkeaton replied to mthurston0001's topic in Engine & Transmission
As stated, on solid means it has stored a code. You need a reader to access the PCM to retrieve the code. Hope you never have a flashing check engine light. That is a very bad thing., indicating a misfire. This flashing check engine light means you are doing “mechanical damage” to your vehicle if you continue to drive under these conditions. If you see a flashing check engine light you should seek immediate professional advice. By mechanical damage I am talking about things like the catalytic converter, the exhaust manifold, pistons, rings, valves – virtually all upwards of four-digit repair bills. -
Or if someone would make a tuner, like superchips, where you could make a custom shift schedule..I had that on my Dakota, which was the worlds WORST about getting into OD. I made a schedule that would hold the gears untill almost redline before shifting, made her a screamer!

I'm not affiliated with them at all, but I highly recommend carmax. They have access to a bunch of stores and can find you one. Around here there are like a 15-20 of them within the standard 25 mile search radius.

Check engine light on-no odometer code
jkeaton replied to mthurston0001's topic in Engine & Transmission
I dont know if you can do the key dance to retrieve codes on these cars. A CEL light on could mean anything, but I've never heard of "oxygen in the gas". Normally it is a faulty sensor somewhere. Get yourself a scanner so you can read/clear codes yourself. They are cheap. -
I too am in the happy camper camp. We are on our second DJ. I would recommend it to anyone. Best features for the price out there. Go with the 3.6 as this is the newest engine. I think they started putting the bigger brakes in 2011. My suggestion is to go drive one. Like winfgit11 says, every manufacturer makes a lemon every now and then. Most common compaint I hear is the AWD system gives some people fits. I dont need the extra weight, cost and maintenance of an AWD system, so we stuck with FWD. Also some report issues with the electronics in really cold temps. It does great in the snows we get around here. I recopmmend the Journey. Its a great car.

Cold weather noises are normal. People dont like to hear that but it is true.

You can request your build sheet using this link. It will tell you everything about your vehicle. http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/emailpage.html?appStr=wccs&titleStr=Contact+Dodge&familyStr=brand&franchise=D&actionURL=%2Fwccs%2Fbrand_forms%2Fus%2Fwebform.jsp&promotion=null&category=U Fill out all the required information. Then in the area that says "Briefly describe" put "Vehicle Build Sheet" . If you want to elaborate a little more as to why you want your build sheet, use the additional information area. Search the internet for tire dealers in your area and call them to find out if they have tires your size in stock.

Sorry but we get the same or better with the V6 than we did with the 4. That 4 is just too undersized for this big of a vehicle. Even on trips we would barely crack 22 mpg. We are getting 19 around town, up0 to 26 on trips with the V6.
-
Welcome to the forum. Brakes will be your biggest issue as they were undersized on the 09's and the rotors warp easy. When the time comes, replace them with some good aftermarket rotors. Dont let the dealer put the same crappy rotors back on.

Welcome to the forum. Our 09 was a decent vehicle. How many miles on yours? Biggest thing on the 09 are the brakes being undersized. When/if you do have to replace them, go with quality aftermarket rotors/pads.

I'm running Kumho's on my Mustang, Sebring and the Journey, also had them on my Z28. Never had a complaint. I am somewhat fanatical about checking tire pressure and rotating. Have an app on my phone that reminds me. Rotations every 5k. Tire pressure once a month. I've got 5 vehicles and I do them all myself. Rotations take me about 20o mins. Having multiple floor jacks and an indoor heated/cooled garage helps.....

Do you have any pics of the mounts, what they look like, how they install?

Welcome to the forum Byron. Make youself a new thread in the Welcome section to introduce yourself.

Understand that the tires that came with your car were not designed by Kumho. They were designed by Chrysler. If your new car came with a set of Kumho's, Kumho made the tire but they made it to the specifications set by Chrysler. The OEM tires that came with your car can’t be replaced (which is a good thing) after they’ve worn out. And they will wear out much sooner than they should. This is because virtually all auto manufacturers specify very soft rubber which means they wear out too fast. You can buy what you think is the same tire, but it will have a different model number when sold by a tire store. Auto manufacturers do this because they want that new car to have the smoothest ride possible, even at your expense of having to buy a new set of tires at half the mileage you should have to. When you test drive that brand new car and it rides very, very smoothly you’re more likely to buy it. You’ll find out how fast the tires wear out much later, and when you do you’ll blame it on the tire maker. Don't blame the tire maker, blame the vehicle manufacturer.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase. First thing I do on a car is put on blind spot mirrors. Driver and passenger. Any auto parts store sells them, along with wallyworld and other places. They attach with double sided foam tape. I put them in the center of the outside edge. It's all personal preference. You will get used to using them wherever you put them.

lol...I agree. We have the smaller touchscreen w/o uconnect, but the start up screen still gives warnings about using it. IMO, uconnect has a long way to go to match the ford mysync thing.
