Did they get the filter box cover back on tight? (if they checked it duting a "tune up") You could be hearing intake noise if it only does it under acceleration. Similar to adding a CAI to a vehicle. Makes the intake louder under acceleration. Just another thing to check.

They do not exist. Your best bet is to get the springs cut down maybe. Or a custom bagged set-up.

I'm curious to see what the result is. We have the smaller sceen as well and I would love to get the bigger one. -
Picked up some more bling....cargo liner, floor mats and splash guards. Only got the rears mounted so far.

Brakes......such a touchy subject with Journeys.....The first few years, I admit, they were complete junk. Our 09 had rotors/pads replaced twice by the dealer before 20k miles. Third time we started getting pulsations I replaced them myself with aftermarket parts. Never had another issue for 60k more miles (when we traded her in). The brakes on our 2013 are massive. Rotors, calipers and pads twice as big it seems. I aplaud Dodge (or Fiat, lol) for listening and at least trying to address the problem by providing bigger hardware. Our 13 only has 11k on it now. I am curious to see how they last. I have owned several Dodge vehicles in the past and what I have found is if you keep replacinf OEM parts with OEM parts, you will continue to have problems. If it is something that is not covered by warranty, I will replace it myself. You can get pads with a "life of the vehicle" warranty at many auto parts stores.....same for alternators, AC compressors, wheel brake cylinders, etc...Dodge, and other vehicle manufacturers make some great products, but some parts are "designed to fail"....that keeps the service departments in business. Go with aftermarket quality parts whenever possible.

As stated, plastidip is the way to go if you dont want to spend hundreds. If you decide you dont like it, just peel it off. -
What does it sound like? Tire noise and engine noise should sound completely different, however I concur it is more likely your tires. Snow tires are loud.

I think I would get that to the dealr asap and see what they think.

Well, you know what they say, you can't believe everything on the internet..... -
You people and your "KM's".....remember us backwards American's don't know squat about the metric system..... I could never wait for 10,000 MILES before changing oil in a vehicle. I'm old school 3 month/3000 miles. I will, however, be changing at 6 months/5,000 MILE interval when I do the first oil change and start using full synthetic.

Is the leak at the front or rear passenger side tire? If from the front, have you opened the hood to look for the source of the leak, or looked under the vehicle to try and pin point the leak? Is the clunk from the front or rear? Clunking going over bumps is normally indicative of suspension components. Tie rods, ball joints, CV axles, sway bar end links and bushings. Put your car on some ramps and get undernweath for an inspection of your suspension. If you don't have the equipment and/or knowledge, take it to a trusted auto repair faciliuty and have them inspect the vehicle for you.

I noticed that too. Maybe they needed more ad space....

How many miles on the car? What engine? Do you perform regular maintenance as required? Brakes are shabby as mkcarter states. Tell your "mechanic" to replace the rotors and pads with some quality aftermarket parts, not the same OEM stuff. Ticking could be any number of things, especially if you don't change the oil regularly. Try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. Car would not start? Could be a battery going bad or corroded/loose connections. "Broken part having to do with the motor for the ventilation/AC/heat"? Unfortunately some things break sometimes. Add some more details so we can assist you better.

Help Understanding Build Codes Please

Same here. I thought it was an "SXT", Build sheet says "Dodge Journey Hero". Fopund this though, which pretty much explains it all: "The new Dodge brand lifestyle models are aimed at consumers who want the most out of life rather than models that indicate only how much they were able to afford with the previous good, better and best lineup,” a Chrysler spokesman said via email about the name changes. “They are also intended to convey our new attitude.” Srarting with the 2010 Dodge Journey: There are more variations now available in terms of packages, which bundle options together. Currently, you can get an SE for $20,490, and the next step up to the SXT jumps to $23,790. The new variations have added three trims that fall between what was the SE and SXT. Formerly SE, SXT, R/T Now Dodge Journey (no trim level designation) $20,320 17-inch aluminum wheels, cruise control, sunscreen glass, body-colored mirrors, floormats and passenger grab handles. Dodge Journey Express $21,320 Adds a two-person third row for seven-passenger seating Dodge Journey Hero $22,320 Adds 235 hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine with dual exhausts paired with a six-speed transmission Dodge Journey Hero with AWD $23,320 Adds all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels Dodge Journey Heat $24,320 Adds Uconnect phone, iPod control, Sirius Satellite Radio, auto-dimming rearview mirror, remote start, trip computer, HomeLink universal transceiver, tonneau cover, six premium speakers with subwoofer, a tri-folding cargo floor with additional storage space beneath, 19-inch aluminum wheels and large chromed-tip dual exhausts Dodge Journey Crew $25,320 Adds third row for seven-passenger seating, automatic climate control, premium gauge cluster, rear DVD entertainment system, 19-inch painted machined wheels, body-colored side sills and chrome interior accents, roof rack and door handles, Dodge Journey Uptown $29,320 Adds leather-trimmed seven-passenger seating, power sunroof, navigation system with 30GB hard drive and real-time traffic, backup camera, rear DVD entertainment system, 19-inch chrome wheels and chrome bodyside molding -
The fogs are Psx24w bulbs, not many out there. Have read on some other forums that there are Psx24w HID's available but they don't "exactly" fit and require some modifications to fit into the fog light housings. The stockers on our 2013 seem to be pretty good, but I love to upgrade to HID. Our 09 DJ had horrid headlights and the first thing I did was upgrade to HID for both beams (9005 & 9006). The headlight/fog combination on the 2013 far outshines the ones on the 09, to the point my wife was saying "look at how bright it is!!". There are differing opinions for installing HID's in standard housings...to the point of it being illegal in some areas. HID's are designed to be used in HID housings for proper lighting. Aafter installing the HID's in the 09, I did re-aim them and never had anyone "flash" us. Do some internet searches for HID's in standard housings and see the differing opinions going headlong into HID's in every housing. Personally, I feel HID's in standard housings for fogs is ok because they are low to the ground to begin with so may not blind oncoming drivers as much as sticking them into the headlights. Edit: Sorry, think I went off on a tangent there....your headlight choice is good. Whatever you get for fogs, just make sure they are the same "color temperature" as the headlights and they will look the same.

We have had mini-vans and SUV's/CUV's.....a strong case can be made for any vehicle type depending on your situation at the time. The mini-van was great when we had kids. Now they are grown, we dont need that much room. The Journey is a nice go between vans and cars and you wont find many SUV's/CUV's (call it what you want) like the DJ in its price range with 7 passenger seating and an awesome V6 like the Pentastar!

Just got ours 2 weeks ago, 11,000 miles.

BRAKES SECOND TIME 2009 WITH NLY 24,000 MILES
jkeaton replied to grueter's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Ditto above. Keep getting the dealer to change your brake parts will only mean having to do it again in short order. Do yourself a favor and purchase some quality aftermarket rotors and pads and change them yourself. Not that difficult to do. We had the dealer replace all 4 rotors and pads TWICE within 20,000 miles. After they warped again, I replaced them myself and never had another brake problem. -
Welcome to the forum. We had an 09 and it was a good vehicle for what it was, nothing spectacular (09 SE). They definitely have inproved on the concept over the years. Our 2013 is light years ahead in some ways. Our 09 wa sa good, dependable vehicle over the 4 years and 80,000 miles we had it. Brakes, alternator, AC compressor and the intake runner valve were the only issues we had and I consider that par for the course for owning a vehicle. Some stuff breaks, nothing lasts forever.

Thats the first thing I noticed when we test drove the 13's compared to our 09. The brakes are simply MASSIVE compared to the earlier models.
