  1. How many miles on the car? What engine? Do you perform regular maintenance as required? Brakes are shabby as mkcarter states. Tell your "mechanic" to replace the rotors and pads with some quality aftermarket parts, not the same OEM stuff. Ticking could be any number of things, especially if you don't change the oil regularly. Try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. Car would not start? Could be a battery going bad or corroded/loose connections. "Broken part having to do with the motor for the ventilation/AC/heat"? Unfortunately some things break sometimes. Add some more details so we can assist you better.
  2. Wife drove it....in the rain In other news, ordered some weathertech floor mats and a cargo area mat and also some door sill guards.
  3. Same here. I thought it was an "SXT", Build sheet says "Dodge Journey Hero". Fopund this though, which pretty much explains it all: "The new Dodge brand lifestyle models are aimed at consumers who want the most out of life rather than models that indicate only how much they were able to afford with the previous good, better and best lineup,” a Chrysler spokesman said via email about the name changes. “They are also intended to convey our new attitude.” Srarting with the 2010 Dodge Journey: There are more variations now available in terms of packages, which bundle options together. Currently, you can get an SE for $20,490, and the next step up to the SXT jumps to $23,790. The new variations have added three trims that fall between what was the SE and SXT. Formerly SE, SXT, R/T Now Dodge Journey (no trim level designation) $20,320 17-inch aluminum wheels, cruise control, sunscreen glass, body-colored mirrors, floormats and passenger grab handles. Dodge Journey Express $21,320 Adds a two-person third row for seven-passenger seating Dodge Journey Hero $22,320 Adds 235 hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine with dual exhausts paired with a six-speed transmission Dodge Journey Hero with AWD $23,320 Adds all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels Dodge Journey Heat $24,320 Adds Uconnect phone, iPod control, Sirius Satellite Radio, auto-dimming rearview mirror, remote start, trip computer, HomeLink universal transceiver, tonneau cover, six premium speakers with subwoofer, a tri-folding cargo floor with additional storage space beneath, 19-inch aluminum wheels and large chromed-tip dual exhausts Dodge Journey Crew $25,320 Adds third row for seven-passenger seating, automatic climate control, premium gauge cluster, rear DVD entertainment system, 19-inch painted machined wheels, body-colored side sills and chrome interior accents, roof rack and door handles, Dodge Journey Uptown $29,320 Adds leather-trimmed seven-passenger seating, power sunroof, navigation system with 30GB hard drive and real-time traffic, backup camera, rear DVD entertainment system, 19-inch chrome wheels and chrome bodyside molding
  4. The fogs are Psx24w bulbs, not many out there. Have read on some other forums that there are Psx24w HID's available but they don't "exactly" fit and require some modifications to fit into the fog light housings. The stockers on our 2013 seem to be pretty good, but I love to upgrade to HID. Our 09 DJ had horrid headlights and the first thing I did was upgrade to HID for both beams (9005 & 9006). The headlight/fog combination on the 2013 far outshines the ones on the 09, to the point my wife was saying "look at how bright it is!!". There are differing opinions for installing HID's in standard housings...to the point of it being illegal in some areas. HID's are designed to be used in HID housings for proper lighting. Aafter installing the HID's in the 09, I did re-aim them and never had anyone "flash" us. Do some internet searches for HID's in standard housings and see the differing opinions going headlong into HID's in every housing. Personally, I feel HID's in standard housings for fogs is ok because they are low to the ground to begin with so may not blind oncoming drivers as much as sticking them into the headlights. Edit: Sorry, think I went off on a tangent there....your headlight choice is good. Whatever you get for fogs, just make sure they are the same "color temperature" as the headlights and they will look the same.
  5. We have had mini-vans and SUV's/CUV's.....a strong case can be made for any vehicle type depending on your situation at the time. The mini-van was great when we had kids. Now they are grown, we dont need that much room. The Journey is a nice go between vans and cars and you wont find many SUV's/CUV's (call it what you want) like the DJ in its price range with 7 passenger seating and an awesome V6 like the Pentastar!
  6. Just got ours 2 weeks ago, 11,000 miles.
  7. Ditto above. Keep getting the dealer to change your brake parts will only mean having to do it again in short order. Do yourself a favor and purchase some quality aftermarket rotors and pads and change them yourself. Not that difficult to do. We had the dealer replace all 4 rotors and pads TWICE within 20,000 miles. After they warped again, I replaced them myself and never had another brake problem.
  8. Welcome to the forum. We had an 09 and it was a good vehicle for what it was, nothing spectacular (09 SE). They definitely have inproved on the concept over the years. Our 2013 is light years ahead in some ways. Our 09 wa sa good, dependable vehicle over the 4 years and 80,000 miles we had it. Brakes, alternator, AC compressor and the intake runner valve were the only issues we had and I consider that par for the course for owning a vehicle. Some stuff breaks, nothing lasts forever.
  9. Thats the first thing I noticed when we test drove the 13's compared to our 09. The brakes are simply MASSIVE compared to the earlier models.
  10. Yeah that ^^ You can buy set of aftermarket fog lights and install them yourself. Involves wiring and installing relays and switches if you're comfortable with that kind of thing.
  11. When we traded in our 09 DJ with 80,000 miles on it last weekend, it still had the original battery in it. Kumho tires rock. I have them on 3 of my vehicles now. Never had a problem. They wear great and have good pricing.
  12. I have emailed and PM'd both "staff" and have heard nothing. Guess we are running on autopilot.
  13. It will cost a bunch because after you get all the hardware you still have to get the dealer to program the car to be able to turn the lights on.
  14. A few fresh pics from today:
  15. Dont understand why people do that anyway.....thousands of people see my license plate every day. Can't cover it up driving down the road.
  16. Fir her one week anniversary, gave her a bath and a fresh wax. Detailed the interior and got the wife to order the splash guards....hey, it's her daily driver...she has to feel the mod pain as well....
  17. They are not cheap.. .http://www.autoanything.com/nerf-bars/77A3740A3081868.aspx?kc=MERCSHOPBING&mr:referralID=9cd5523b-4a13-11e3-9f1f-001b2166becc
  18. Normally aftermarket ones I stay away from cause I have heard all kinds of horror stories about how they nitpick things and refuse to honor because of some little issue. This warranty is through Carmax and we have a $50 deductible. I covers everything except normal maintenance iterms. The total cost of the warranty was $1800 for 6 years, 100,000 miles. We had an extended warranty on our first Journey and it paid for itself over the life of the vehicle. We just take the vehicle to them and let them sub it out to a Dodge dealer if required. Free rentals if kept overnight. I've read both good and bad reviews, I realize it's hit or miss with these things. We shall see. Good thing is we have the balance of the 3 year/36000 mile and the 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain.
  19. hmmm...mine must be brilliant red tricoat pearl also....I just said red cause I'm lazy
  20. The LPSS CHMSL lamp is the Center High Mount Stop Lamp, your 3rd brake light. The other stuff has been answered by senah
  21. Thanks! We love the color. I emailed one of the "staff" and asked if I could help. I'm a mod on another Dodge forum. I see this site could use some help moving threads to the correct section and what not.
  22. The bulb is a psx24w bulb made by phillips. They are available on Amazon
