    You can check for recalls yourself on the NHTSA website. What price are they asking? What trim level? Do you have the history of the vehicle? These cars can be really really good or really really bad. I believe it all depends on which day of the week the vehicle was built. Late 2012 they upgraded the brakes. Not sure of the exact date. 3.6 is a great engine.

    I used mid grade aftermarket (Brakebest Select from O'reillys). No issues. Any quality aftermarket brand will be on par with OEM and much cheaper.

    Dorman is fine. I've used them on other vehicles. You will get the same life/performance as OEM.

    Clay bar is awesome. Just know it is very labor intensive and time consuming.

    I would ask some local people you know that use garages to perform their maintenance. That being said, you can’t go wrong using the dealer.

    Never had an alignment issue on either of our Journeys. I don't consider the issue a design flaw.
