Should be fine as long as you don't overload it. I think the tow rating has more to do with the uni body construction of the vehicle rather than the capabilities of the drive train. Could be wrong. I've heard of a few on here and other places that regularly tow more than the 2500# rating with no issues, but be aware, if something does happen and it can be proven it was due to towing more than the rated capacity, your warranty will be void.

Per the owners manual, wait for the light but don’t exceed 12 months or 10,000 miles.

What engine? 3.6 is 2500 lbs. 2.4 is 1000 lbs. This is stated in your owners manual as well.

I wouldn't keep your phone charging overnight in your vehicle. Bring it inside and use a wall charger. The outlet always being on will not run your battery down unless you have something plugged into it drawing power.

Frayed wiring in the wire loom going from the body to the lift gate. Read this.

Make sure you have the rotors checked before installing them. Could be warped or worn beyond useful life.

Use whatever oil you want as long as it meets the manufacturers specs.

Just look at the harness. Cut the loom open or untape it or whatever. The wires are inside. You need to inspect them.

Try it on another vehicle to see if it’s a reader problem or a port problem or a reader problem. I know you said “it worked over the years” but you don’t say the last time you tried to use it on another vehicle.

Maybe for if you have something plugged into the jack at the rear controls.
