You will need to take it somewhere and have the front suspension inspected. You don't indicate how many miles, but things do wear out.

Personally a waste of money on an engine designed to run on 87. What mileage do you consider "bad"? We average maybe 19-20 around town, up to 26-28 on trips. That is very acceptable to me.

I agree it does not have much power for such a big car, however, it is very dependable. You just have to realize its limitations. Merging takes awhile, but once up are up to speed and in the upper RPM ranges, it is very capable. Drove ours loaded with 5 people and luggage on a 7 hour trip. It did very well. That being said, now that I have the 3.6, I'd never go back.
