MyGiG radio software update
scottstep replied to kaydoggy's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
I downloaded the latest version a few weeks ago and created a CD from the ISO, http://mofv.com/mygig/ is where you can find mygig updates, I beleive the current is 9112. I would hope they can add feature enhancements with future releases... ie I'd love to see a small alphabet so you can quickly jump to the letter of whatever music you are searching for on the drive. -
I beleive its mounted on the driver side rear quarter panel, next to the built in flashlight. About your Nav, can you input destinations while the car is in drive?? The wife likes to program on the fly shopping trips and look for nearby destinations? I'm happy with the tradeoff, love the sunroof and still love the Garmin navigation, and I've only had a few near miss collisions while looking down at my radio;)

I finally got around to hooking my IPOD up via the supplied cable, it is a 3rd generation regular Ipod (20 gigs) I get a comm error after 10-20 seconds of not being able to browse/list music, it does charge the Ipod but it cannot communicate. Any ideas? I dont see much documented in the way of what types it is compatible with.

Wow, thanks for the tip... did you check the trip computer (do you have an SXT or above?) Because it displays DTE (distance to empty) I had my light go on and I believe it was at about 60km's once it hits that mark it does not display kms remaining, just the fact you are low.

Canadian 1000 bonus cash??
scottstep replied to scottstep's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
I don't see why not, you have not taken delivery so you should be entitled to any incentive out there, at least thats what the Customer service rep told me. -
Panoramic mirror obstructs rearview
scottstep replied to nelsonclan's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
I'm 6'4 and have the seat adjusted to the lowest position, the panaramic mirror is seen in the rear view mirror but it does not obstruct my view out the rear window. And about the video screen that total obliterates your rear view... I have a story! The video was on, my 2 boys had their headphones on watching a movie, I had my music turned on and noticed a car ahead pull over. I continued on, well another car pulled over... so now I clue in, since my rear view was blocked I glanced over to driver side mirror only to see a speeding cop, lights and siren flashing just about to pass me. I felt like an idiot! -
Canadian 1000 bonus cash??
scottstep replied to scottstep's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
I called Chrysler Canada customer service yesterday and they confirmed the incentive, as of June 3rd there is a 1000 bonus cash incentive available for the Journey SXT and above models (not SE or SE Plus) I took delivery on May 31st and they say they do not back date incentives so I'm out of luck - Im still not giving up, if I cant get the 1000 then Im sure as hell going to get something from the dealership. I dont know what my rights are in getting out of the sale/lease contract within a week as well - if its possible or not. -
Canadian 1000 bonus cash??
scottstep replied to scottstep's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
I was able to check out the online version of our newspaper, anyone else see similar promotions? (Canadians) picture added as attachment (hope it can be viewed) -
Can anyone confirm this? My father just emailed me this morning and said he saw an ad in our local newspaper about the Journey now comes with 1000 bonus cash as part of the "Thank you Canada" promotion. I have yet to see the ad myself, and if true I'd hope to hell I quaility (I just took delivery last week of my Journey) Scott.

They are chrome clad wheels that are put directly over the alum. rims. Plastic covers cladded in chrome... yeah pretty cheap for being a 600+ upgrade from the alum rims. But they still look good;) I just got my journey a couple days ago, I havent washed it yet, but as long as the bumper pops back then I wouldnt have a problem, might even mean less damage in small fender benders (if the bumper is that flexible)

Great forum.. great car! Just picked up mine this weekend, put about 300 km's on it in the past 2 days... Love it, love the mygig, I was in heaven yesterday driving with my 2 kids in the car with their movie on in the backseat with their wireless headphones on... not a peep for 30 minutes, change the dvd and another 30! lol

Ordered SXT last week...now the wait begins!
scottstep replied to crepead's topic in Owner Impressions
Goodluck tomorrow... I pick mine up Saturday, also very anxious to get it in my driveway! -
This is not a totally unbiased reply, I have always been a dodge boy (pro domestic as I live in the Windsor/Motor City area) I'll admit I read some reveiws that were not to great but I was not to concerned about reliability and the fact its the first year model because I have had relatively good experiences with my previous chrysler/dodge cars and currently my 98 Intrepid has 225,000 km's on it and she still runs great - even with it never having had a tune up / change the plugs, just regular maint. I replaced the tie rod ends and sway bar links and had a cracked rad (which was probably my fault) so under 1500 in unexpected repairs, not bad with 225,000km if you ask me. I look for the best bang for the buck, and if you take your pre concieved notions about quality away from this you will be hard pressed to find anything out there with the Journeys features/performance for the price. The best thing you can do is take a test drive, drive the competitors... compare features for the money then make your decision. Good luck!
