  1. 1) easier to add? maybe, but more expensive because you have to use a special harness 2) The subwoofer enclosure is too small to house a decent sub 3) pretty sure the radio is the same, it's the "amp" that changes the equation 4) different strokes for different folks...some do like it, others hate it...opinions are like assholes. The alpine sub appears to be a glorified 6.5" speaker. If you dig into it we would all love to see what is actually in there.
  2. I did not know this. Good info... I have used them for the last couple of years. They appear to be a nicely constructed filter, but it is really hard to say without seeing one cut open.
  3. My understanding of one of the benefits of synthetic oil was that it actually suspends those particles, keeping them away from the metal portions of the engine. Regardless, I now have 3 remaining oil changes at the dealer that will be dino. Since I have the lifetime bumper to bumper warranty it doesn't concern me as much as it normally would.
  4. Remove what? The power outlet? You need to remove the whole panel. There will be a retaining nut on the back that holds it on.
  5. Why better? Equivalent, sure...I can buy that. The protection offered from a synthetic is as good if not better than dino. It's the long changes where the protection lasts longer that makes synthetic a superior product. Though I am still a believer in the better lubricating properties of synthetics, especially as it relates to keeping things oiled after stuff has had time to drain back.
  6. I typically use the Mobil1, but recently did not have the time to change it myself and stopped by the dealer on my way to a function... Ended up buying a 4 change package. I'm sure they use dino, so I will probably shorten up the oil changes for those.
  7. Not that badly, but Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep is notorious for that... There may be a software update for your stereo.
  8. Shouldn't be terribly vehicle specific. Did they not come with installation instructions?
  9. I don't believe that you will get sound if you use speakers with a different resistance. The CanBus system will not see a speaker as being present and shut down that channel on the amp. At least that is my understanding...
  10. I'm the sail panel guy, dhh3 replaced the dash speakers... I don't remember, but did he list the model of the speaker in his thread? If so, it should be easy enough to get the specifications of the speaker online. He said they barely fit and actually had to be glued in if I recall correctly. The whole front panel just pops straight up, shouldn't be too hard to get in there without paying a shop to do it.
  11. What did you use in the door that doesn't give you the mids you want?? My 6.5's fill the mids perfectly and the tweeters are more than enough for the highs. Just need to finish off the box I am building in the in-floor tool box area to round out the bottom end and it should be all good...
  12. Because they sound 1,000 times better... They are components. I've never seen a 6x9 (really closer to 6x8) component system before...
  13. A "Bone Stimulator" eh??? Interesting... Good luck! Yeah, we know...
  14. I find that hard to believe... My tweeters are very shallow. There just isn't a direct replacement. One could easily fabricate a mount and put in something else that fits fine. Sounds like way more work than it is worth though as it took me all of 10 minutes to remove my door trim, install a 6.5" speaker in the door, mount the associated crossover behind the door trim, drill a hole in the sail panel and mount the tweeter in said hole...
  15. I feel like this issue has been discussed before... Have you tried searching the forum? I'd do it for you, but I don't have the time. Pretty sure the answer is in here somewhere though.
  16. How long until your back is able to handle it??? Got a neighbor who likes beer?
  17. I gave my input in your other thread... You will get a better sound stage mounting tweeters in the sail panels...IMHO.
  18. I skipped the upgraded stereo all together. I've never heard one that sounds good. Rather than waste time and money with an installer, why not put components in the doors? I just mounted the tweeter from the components in the sail panel. The new speakers sound a million times better and you can't hear the junk "tweeters" in the dash over how bright the component tweeters are...I just left them hooked up.
  19. Mine slide fine... Never tried the tilt feature since the third row is always down. Maybe you guys need to hit the gym?
  20. Someone who knows for sure will probably chime in, but I'm pretty sure it just snaps in and out... You will need trim removal tools.
  21. There are a handful of people on here pulling campers with ease. I wouldn't worry about it one bit.
  22. Probably the easiest, cheapest and most reversible option... I just removed mine.
  23. You can add the Dodge integrated Bluetooth fairly cheaply... Only difference between getting it at the factory and adding it after the fact is that there will be a microphone to mount (the ones from the factory are actually part of the mirror assembly and are hidden well). Also, the "tow package" doesn't come with a hitch. Stupid as that is, many have added it and there is lots of info about it on the forum.
  24. The lock pick is indeed plug and play, and the install is not difficult. There is a video from the manufacturer of an install on a DJ.
