  1. I think that it actually provides a 7-pin harness, so a bit more than lights, but yes you are correct about the anti-sway.

Instances like this are why I like having an insurance guy rather than a company... Yes, it is paid through the company, but having an actual representative that you have been with for years and who knows you and your circumstances provides leeway with things like this. They tend to go a little more out of their way to make you happy. Hopefully the other parties involved get their shit together. Good luck! And...happy birthday.
  3. I love my DJ, but I'd take the Durango all day every day over it...
  4. That's why I usually mount them there... On a couple of occasions I've had to drill a hole in the door panel and mount them there, but still much easier and cleaner than a lot of the alternatives.
  5. Could try and clean the one you have after opening it up... they are not cheap to buy new.
  6. The only ones you will find pre-assembled are going to cost a pretty penny... north of $800. You can get all of the components yourself and build a set for much less. Probably $200-300 for a decent set up. Just as nice as the ones that are pre-assembled if not better. Or, you could contact a retrofitter and have them built for you. Once again, this is an expensive option.
  7. Once again, not arguing that the DJ housing scatters less or bashing people that do it, just saying that they still scatter a lot. Look at the signs well above the vehicle in the pictures posted above... they are lit up like no tomorrow... that is the light that is is oncoming driver's faces. Also, look at the beam pattern on the ground, there is a TON of scatter. My ONLY point was that no matter what, there will be scattered light using the stock housing. Aiming it down does not somehow get rid of the scatter. This is MUCH better than some of the stuff I see every day... BTW, you could easily retrofit some projectors in your headlights for $200-300, spending nearly a thousand bucks is not necessary... I thought the same thing when I saw that sticker. Ha!
  8. They usually have very little in them besides 3 nuts (one at each corner) to hold the mirror, and the wiring, which is usually fastened to the door and out of the way. Most component tweeters are fairly shallow, so I am banking on them fitting.
  9. The first time I hooked it up was after it was already deleted, so I don't think that is it... I'm not really concerned about it too much, I don't allow her to play her crappy music in my car that often anyway. I figured there must be some file or something still on the phone. Doesn't sound familiar... Oh wait, yes, now I remember...
  10. Hahaha! Always with the smart ass comments... Love it!
  11. Was this for me? I think that is what she did... The song is gone, but it shows up on my DJ only...
  12. Yikes! Good luck... I would struggle with this; I like to be active and it seems like that might prevent it some... Let us know how it goes! I'm curious if the install will require resistors to put a simulated load on the stock wiring. Can you ask them if they needed to install any when you pick it up?
  13. Sail panel is the triangular shaped panel above the door panel that covers the side mirror mounts...
  14. I'm not being a Nazi, in fact I could care less what people do to their car as long as it doesn't put me in danger. To say that aiming them down gets rid of scatter is a blatant lie though. The light will still scatter even if you point them straight down at the ground... It's a simple fact that this will happen since the focus of the oem housing is aimed taking into account the distance from the housing to the "hot spot" in the bulb. This measurement is different on an aftermarket HID and no matter what you do (outside of somehow altering that distance), there will ALWAYS be scatter. No amount of saying "I don't get flashed" or "I've driven in front of my car and it's fine" will change this simple fact.
  15. It is illegal to outfit headlights with anything other than DOT approved HIDs. If your dealer offered the upgrade they either had a different housing that was designed for the APPROVED hid bulbs, or they marketed them as "offroad". I guess there is the third option that they are knowingly breaking the law, but that seems unlikely. As far as having dealers do stuff and closing down the aftermarket, you are about as far off base as possible on that one. I have HIDs in my DJ, they are just installed in a projector retrofit that was designed for the bulbs. There is ZERO comparison between improperly fitted HIDs and those that were done correctly. Once you have had a properly installed set, going to a plug and play setup is inferior and would never feel like an upgrade. Your tirade makes me laugh... why so worked up, I never dogged your setup?
  16. You may need a software update for the radio as well... worth looking into.
  17. I've noticed that my wife's iPhone does this and I think I've narrowed it down to being caused by a song that was pre-installed that we removed. The title of that song still shows in the list even though it is not there, and every song after that is off by one song in the playlist... Annoying. I figure something must still be there like an information file or something...
  18. Did you get it installed yet? Saw those at Crutchfield when I was buying my upgrades this weekend...
  19. I bought some 6.5" components for my front doors this weekend... Will probably just mount the tweeters on the sail panel.
  20. Why spread such fictional nonsense? The light still scatters everywhere regardless of how low you aim them... You may not blind people as bad, but you are still blinding them.

    Wow... That sucks big time...
  22. seems odd it would work on a different late model Dodge and not the DJ... I'm sure there is a work around.
  23. Are you planning on keeping the stock stereo or upgrading to an aftermarket head unit?
  24. The very same stereo is different between models, so I would count on it being the same, but maybe... That is usually a safe number to assume for modern stereos... Does anyone know where this info can be obtained?? I can't find it anywhere, but it would be nice to know how many watts per channel these units deliver...
